I had this base,I replaced it with an xs sight systems Lever rail, I have a video on my account called marlin 336.... if you want to take a look the video is HD capable.
These bases can hold any height rings. I have the same gun and used to have the same mounts ( Sold them, wasn't a problem with it though. ) I had mediums.
