@alvin01 I always have a grip on myself. Elvis was an over-rated sex icon is all he was, thats why he was so "big" as you say...I see no talent in him. Now Carl Perkins, or Buddy...now thats more like it...
@easye1989 I didnt say elvis was Big(..?) made no other comment other than get a grip. I probably agree with you more than you know about Elvis, but, most of Elvis recordings from 54 to 1960 ,sound pretty good ,some unique. His voice & delivery(My Baby Left Me) was made for Rock&Roll in my opinion. To say he was hyped goes without saying. After1960, no interest. I love Rock&Roll with a passion. And i feel the same about Buddy Holly believe me, especially as a writer which Elvis wasnt.
Grow up? You are correct on Jesus Christ. Buddy was and still is the earthly king of rock! He could write songs, arrange songs, produce songs and sing songs better than Elvis ever could, not to mention he could actually play the guitar and not just fake it most of the time.
God created all men in his own image, including Buddy. His music helps me feel good, and inspires me to keep practicing my guitar licks, and that is a gift from God!
Buddy was the king!! This is probably the best version I have heard. Buddy and J.I. don't miss a beat at all. I swear those two were joined at the hip, they always had it together!
Best way he could be acknowledged is American Pie by Don McLean.
By being one of three reason of song that turned upside-down usa radios, since it was the very first over-3-minutes-song to be played uncut, for audiences' requests.
@silverfoxtn The original version of this song was by Carl Perkins, who also wrote it. The original version went higher (number 1) on the charts than Elvis's.
@silverfoxtn How is this more rock n roll than Elvis? Not saying it's any less. They both are good versions, but Elvis was also definitely true rock n roll
BH is still the king, RIP
