SO HOW WOULD I DO EXTESNION ON IT??? WOULD STILL USE THE SAME METHOD??? AND ALSO COULD I USE THIS METHOD EVEN THOUGH I HAVE LOCS AND NOT BRAIDS...IF YOU COULD HELP ME I WOULD LOVE IT..THANK YOU!!!

  • just saw Kidulthood 2nite lol

  • I like!

  • great job..would you be able to do myn's?..i live in n.y...how much?

  • Great Job! the hair you used, what brand was it? Thx!!

  • i like the way your locks look does your hair grow through them even if there hooked in with hair? nd is there away i can start my locks off with fake hair to have them grow i did the big chop and i have about a inch or mayb 2 inches of hair!

  • YOU ARE SOOOOO PRETTY, AND I LOVE THE LOCS =]

  • Pretty! I love your locs!

  • this is awesome. No hair has fallen out? I used to have locs. Tok em out and grw a huge fro. then I decided to just get a mohawk. I want to keep my mohawk but I miss having locs and long hair, so I think I'm going to try and do this. This is awesome Hope no hair falls out.

  • Thanks for posting and sharing, I based my loc extension method off of your method! Thanks.

  • Well done they look real to me!!! You are not "faking it" as you said Its your hair you paid for it lol!!!!

  • Great job !!!!!

  • koo...ii'ma try iit 2nite...

  • Good job that's how they do it in Thailand

  • You're cute. I'm sure you already know it.

  • Girl..this is good..I am almost 3yrs natural, but never did dreads, and my hair is long, but it has broken off in the front and the middle..I will be dreading up this wknd..I wish you were in texas, I would be at your house!!!

  • loves it!!!!! Most undetectable way I've seen yet!!! Natural looking!

  • Way to go! They look fantastic!

  • Thank you Sister Girl... I tried your your way loc extension,,, Love it.. I have the extensions in my hair for over 8 mos.. now and people are always commenting on how fast my hair is growing. thanks

  • looks great and natural!

  • I like how you didn't over extend in legnth.. they look great!

  • You look GREAT and you are such a dear for sharing!!!! Thanks SO MUCH!!! Kisses!!!

  • That's hot and they look really good, thanks for sharing!

  • that is a neat idea.. looks very natural

  • WoW ... this is EXACTLY what I was looking for... thanks

  • great!

  • that was very creative!!!!! I might have to try that for the summer

  • This is the best version I've seen. My locks are really small, and already mature. I don't think a latch hook would fit into them. What do you suggest I do? The braid/wrap method? I don't think I care for that one either, though.

  • this maybe kind of weird but i was thinking about your delemma and i came up with tihs.....How about trying to use a needle threader. you can make one if your handy. i will do a video on that if you like

  • Sorry for the delayed response, okay...so now, I want to cut off the back portion of my locs and sew them onto the front. A kind of bob, or maybe mohawk style. Actually more like ya girl off Living Single when she had yarn braids & the sides were shaved. Would the same technique work for these?

  • @phat97 I discovered how you can achieve this look1 (better late then never) lol I will be posting a video on it VERY soon. i'll tag you.

  • with the method I used no you don't need to o any re-wrapping or anything like that. the hair is added at the bottom of the loc so once they are in thats pretty much it. i HATE the wrap method. i think it continuously adds extra weight to your hair..but i dunno as i said i am far from a pro lol.

  • very nice!

  • l00kz g0rge0us

  • Very nice miss thang Thanks for this it looks great! R U still rockin this style?

  • shoot ---you did a REALLY good job-doing them yourself too?!? that's awesome!!!!

  • looks to hard to do

  • nope the only hard part was figuring out how to make it work after i got the idea lol

  • Very smart! Where were you a few years ago?! I needed this, lol

  • Love your video. It's to the point and your hair looks great!

  • i really like the way your hair came out. i bout some hair today and attempted to do my dred extensions but I found it difficult to secure the extentsion hair onto my own bcuz my dreds are so skinny. & what did u use the toothbrush for? maybe that's the step i'm missing.

  • i def apologize for not making that step clear. With the tooth brush i actually backcombed...well back brushed the extention so that it can get a little closer to blending with my loc. i will be posting a follow up vieo soon though.

  • i am thinking of installing my own loc extensions, and i've seen human hair priced from $40-$250 per bundle. what is a reasonable price to pay for the hair used to do loc extensions? keep in mind that i may want to color them in the future. PLZ HELP!!!

  • Hi, you don't have to pay that much for extension hair. If you live near a large city where there are ethnic hair stores you will have a better chance at having a large selection of hair to choose from. You can also try a Sally's. Depending on your hair type, you need to buy Afro Kinky/Puff, or Yaki human braiding hair. This should cost you $40 or less. I have seen some priced at $15. I live in a large metro area however.

  • hey you did an excellent job! where are you from and how much do you charge?

  • that look so good. Keep it up! The color is great for you.

  • Aye did a nice job on em especially for yo first time

  • Nice choice of color.

  • im considering interlocking all by myself, and i seen your video on extensions and it is so helpful but if i decide to do these extensions.... how do the come off?

  • with this method i intended to have them in permanently. I ended up taking them down though. i had to cut them off. what i did was cut as far up as possible with out cuting my own loc an then i pulled the hair and it slipped right out. i did not have them in long so it was easier to remove then if they had been locking for a while.

  • I don't get it..... I saw how you started, but i got lost......

  • This is very cool! Your hair looks great and the price...you cant beat it! Thanks for sharing!

  • this worked good for you. Do you think you can do longer extensions like this im thinking like 3 to 4 inches. im about to get twisted and know im going to extend.

  • yes, i am actually going to post a vieo on that once i re-loc. my hair not is about 6 or 7 inches and i plan on installing 5 inch extensions.

  • You are very clever. They look great. Wow!

  • The music had me bouncin, lol, i also loved the instructions and idea.

  • Love the color! Gr8 instructions.

  • do you. they look good & natural. they'll just lock w/your own hair.

  • Those Arent Dreads!!!

    THEY'RE LIES!!!!

lol jk. kool shit, I would try but all my friends have dreads and theirs are longer than mine, if I had one day miraculously had much longer dreads, they'd never let me live it down!

  • lmao i know what you mean. but thats just a decision you'll have to make on your own and assert you inependent style no matter what any1 thinks or says. you should try it out n if you hate it or get too much greif, take them down...the locs not your friends :) :)

  • can you take them down if you want..i'm thinkn about some but i don't want them to stay up longer than 2 months..

  • yep, you sure can. i have since taken them out but i didn't record how :( it is possible. i can elaborate if you like. just let me know :)

  • Great job!!

  • i love your video...it was much more simplier than the other videos with people hands all in the way. Great job!!!

  • thanks! thats the EXACT reason why i did it with pictures cuz the hands thing annoys me too and i didn't want any1 else to suffer lol

  • what the song you used for the video?

BTW, I'm really considering doing loc extensions after seeing your video!

  • yay! lol oh the song is Womans World by Shystie

  • hey i love this - imma try it with mine even tho they are kinda long. have any vids on how they look now?

  • no, i have taken them down and have started over but i plan on installing extensions again so stay tuned :)

  • Hey, where there's a will there's a way. :)

  • You did a fantastic job, I am going to try this this weekend, I have loc's that are about 3 inches long and am getting impatient waiting for them to grow, I thank you for this video!!!!!

  • Good job.

  • I want to look like I have locs but I dont want to dred my hair up... I need to try this but Im afraid my hair is too long so it would be hard to make it look right

  • you can also try yarn braids. they look similar to locs and you will be able to get an idea of the feel of it aswell. and with yark braids the oler they get the more they look like loce. becareful though. be sure to use acrlyic. the woll yarn will eventually loc with your hair and you really will have locs.

  • was ur hair already fully locked at first..

cuz i want it like that..i seen how the shop does them and i dnt like it

  • not fully but it had been locking for 3 months at this point. I feel the same way i am not a fan of the shop way either

  • Wow--those look great! How long did it take you to do?

  • i wish i remembered :( i did it over the course of 3 days though with LOTS of stopping and starting

  • damn nice! great job (y)

  • Wow, your hair came out soooooooo nice, I am gonna go get some and try it!! thanks for sharing.

  • Girl you did a good job,My daughter cut six of her locs out , now I have to repair them..This is a great technique!!! Where's your shop at ..lol.. Peace

  • thanks! lol i wish i had a shop ...maybe one day :)

  • that was very creative. I wouldn't have thought of that in a million years. awesome!

  • excellent job!

  • You did a great job. Sometimes the best results are born out of frustration. I'm sure they will look even better once they mature. Will you be keeping them in while your locs grow then cut them?

  • thanks! that was the original plan but i ended up taking them out after a little while because i missed my own hairs length and decided i wanted to go thru the whole process.

  • yo wats this song playin? i mean artist?

  • the artist is Shystie and the song is called womans world.

  • Excellent video... I Liked it.. I've been thinking of trying loc extentsions myself...Mine are as long as yours were in the video but I kind of want to experience the journey of it growing them out naturally. But any how... wonderful video thank you for sharing!!!!

  • those look good.

  • Nice! I'm gonna have to remember that. I have been dong yarn braids over mine which are ok...but they look like braids instead of locs. excellent job.

  • i did yarn braids too. mostly while my hair was growing out. i did that to test how i would look with locs. this is def a fun way to do loc extensions. i have since taken them out but i may go back and do it again for keeps

  • u did it excellently.......b4 the extentions, how did u twist ur real hair?thanks a lot for this video

  • Before i added the extensions i was interlocking. i palm rolled a few times but i like the security of the interlocking method

  • yu did good

  • You Are an Absolute Genius...

    Wonderful Work Gurl!

  • Good job. They look natural. I was thinking of adding some length to mine but not sure yet.

  • girl you did a great job!! they look great anyway!!! pro or not...UR HOT!!! lol

  • They look lovely on you!

  • Trial and error? More like trial and success. Cant even tell where the join is, really well done.

  • :) Thank you

  • those look gr8..

  • Good job!! They look great!

  • this looks really good. they look real. the length is also good

  • i wish you showed a demo of the technique.. i too have been doing a lot of research on this for the past 6 months (I too refuse to spend $600 on this procedure.. since I KNOW i can do them myself if I see it done on someone else).

Anyway, thanks for sharing! They look lovely.

  • You did a really good job on your hair!

  • Great job!

  • It looks really good. I wish I saw this video before I locked mine. I would have tried it.

  • omg dats da smartest thing eva!!!

  • Great job sweetie they look good..I attach my dreadlock extension video to give you another option and there is another afro kinky hair that is a little more natural looking than the one you are using..I believe i hold up the hair in my videos...Good Luck and God Bless you are very talented

  • where do you get the hair?

  • i got it from a hair store in my area i am not sure oh the places name but i will get back to u on that.

  • They look really cute!! You are very creative.

I started from coils 1 inch. My hair grew to that length in 1 year. So in one year you will be able to cut the extensions and wear your natural hair. If they come out. Start with the coil twists and they will grow to that length and beyond. I hope this lets you know that locs are really for you.

  • They look good my question is what happens when you wash them? can you show how to do it in detail not with pics...

  • sure. i will have that posted in a week or two

  • you did good and it look so real.

  • thanks. i was hella nervous about that. lets just hope they stay like that lol

  • how can you released them?

  • i wasn't going to but, me being the experimentalist that i am ...i tried one out. i just cut it close to my real loc and (dang this hair loc'd kinda fast) picked out the little piece that was pulled thru. it wasn't too hard but i dunno if i want to do that to my whole head.

  • the look good and they look real

actually there ARE a few loc extension tutorial vids on youtube

  • thanks. i saw a few but the ones i saw didn't really explain how to start them or it was wrapping lose hair. if you see some or have suggestions please feel free to let me know

i will prob end up taking a few of these out and try that method lol

  • Wow, they came out very nice! Great job girl!

  • Great try next time braid the bottom and then wrap with the afro hair and it will last longer and lock faster. Great video

  • Thanks for the tip!

shoot, now iam tempted toredo them and try it that way. :)
