When I saw the GR about 12 years ago, he played this, Love Grows where my Rosemary Goes, and Drift Away. Rob Grill. said they were songs written for them or rejected by them.
ThomasWantsMusic, do you have the full cut of this song? These guys are such professional musicians, they can take any other song and do a fabulous cover of it.
Don't Pull Your Love was originally written for the Grass Roots back in 1971, but they passed on it in favor of Two Divided By Love. DPYL then fell into the hands of Hamilton Joe Frank and Reynolds.
@fezzadork Thanks for clearing that up, cos I had the Hamilton Joe Frank and Reynolds single and saw this and went...Well they SOUND a lot alike, but that song wasnt recoded by the Grass Roots....Thanks for the history lesson.
Them cabs and your p.a. are doing you no favours at ll with that high breeze. Why didnt you back your gear up with the wind behind you? This number takes some good breathing and a good diaphragm man ! Tricky end notes.
the Grass Roots was offered this song, but they declined. Now Rob wishes he would have taken it, along with "Love Grows Where my Rosemary Goes." Peace, Love and The Grass Roots
The Grass Roots have just come out with another live cd. It is being sold at their shows. I don't remember what the name of it is. I got the "Live At Last" cd on Ebay. it is even signed by Rob Grill himself!!. You might can find one on Ebay too! it is worth a try! Peace, Love, and The Grass Roots.
Sweet!! I saw Bob Grill's Grass Roots in Boston this past Summer. I picked up their live CD at the show which had this song on it. You probably don't have a longer version of this do you?
No, sorry I don't have a longer version. I wish I did though. I try not to record so long at one time that I get caught. One guy at another concert tried to make me delete everything on my memory card because he caught me recording.
And...you have this song on a live CD. I didn't know they had it on CD. I've been trying to find it. What's the CD called?
The CD is called Grass Roots "Live At Last" and it's from 2000. They were selling it at the show. That's funny that somebody would get so uptight that you were recording it with your picture phone. I go to concerts all the time where all these teenage girls have their picture phones out and the venue staff turns a blind eye to it all...even when it says right on the ticket that recording devices are prohibited.

@jessesgirl1956 He said they rejected "Drift Away"by Dobie Gray, too. That was at an Evansville, Indiana concert about 12 yeaars ago.

Isn't this Hamilton Joe Frank & Reynolds? Everyone originally thought the Grass Roots did it but they didn't. Just checking???
