  • The SpaceX Dragon will be more capable. It's time for the Russian Space Agency to come up with something newer. This design has been around since the 60s... I know it has been upgraded many many times but it's time to create something that can do more.

  • Far safer than the space shuttle.

  • @RK831 Both the Shuttle and Soyuz have had 2 total failures. Unlike the Shuttle, Soyuz has had many near fatalities and many mission failures.

  • @BernieEOD Yea, but the shuttle has had more actual fatalities and is now retired from service..

  • @smokinsumganja Only because it carried more people

  • @RK831 The Shuttle was not unsafe. NASA was and IS unsafe. Challenger was murder. NASA over rode the manufacturers and order a launch outside of its design envelope. Columbia new it had a problem and NASA once again blew it off.

  • @BernieEOD out of hundreds and hundreds of flights, only 2 mishaps happened. do you realize how good that is?

  • @salakast Same with the Shuttle, and unlike the Shuttle, Soyuze had many more near fatlaties

  • Excellent video, no blabbermouth announcer spoiling the show!

It woudln't hurt to also be able to hear the radio between the crew and ground.

  • The u s a are now russia's bitch he he he he

  • con la salida del atlantis ahora rusia será el puto amo del espacio

  • what are those guys burning, why is there no smoke/steam trail?

  • @immortalass 100 proof vodka, Clean, Renewable energy!

  • @immortalass RP-1 (kerosene) and Liquid Oxygen.

  • Eh. I'd still choose space shuttle. The Soyuz rocket is very cramped and its just a rocket theres been 1000's of rocket launches space shuttle is better, but soyuz is simple and continuing

  • @kirza94 space shuttle suck dicks, there is a soyuz space ship on the top of the soyuz rocket. space shuttle only burns the crew nothing more.

  • @SovietBear91 why does the shuttle suck? answer that. the space shuttle has had 2 errors the soyuz i know has had one atleast

  • @kirza94 compared to the soyuz the shuttle sucks because soyuz has the most flights of all rockets and spacecrafts. it had over 850 starts and less than 2% failed, failed means not the rocket explodes like your space shuttle, failed means all cases like the rocket had to start 2 days later or they had problems with the boosters and so on. without soyuz and russia the ISS would`t exist.

  • @SovietBear91 Correction, the Soyuz rocket has over 850 flights, not the spacecraft. The SHuttle has put more Astronauts into orbit than all of the "Retro spam cans" Which has ever flown combined.

  • @kirza94 Soyuz has had 2 also plus a great number of mission failures and near fatalities. One being where the capsule landed in a lake and nearly suffocated the crew.

  • actually most of the Soviet "intellectual" work was stolen from the US by their spies, LOL. Turns out they ripped off a crap load from us. Lets see, just look at our fighters then theirs. not to mention their space shuttle and their heavy lift antonov lol. Both dead ringers for ours, with some changes. Heck ex KGB, have admitted it on the history channel even.

  • @diaster youre a moron run along little shit.....russians too smart for any american....space programme wanker good example of russian prowess over any country....russians stole hahaha keep telling yourself that shithead

  • @alkira001 Russians and Americans stole it! It is all based on German rocket science taken after WWII.

  • @diaster And the Americans didnt steal from the Germans? please...stop acting as if Americans are 100% original

  • USA, EU and Russia should work together to send the man on moon, mars and beyond.we can't do it alone. USA has the money and he should help Russia to do this work because they have more reliable technology.we must have to think of our future and rather threating each other and starting a war, we have to corporate with each other to take the humanity ahead and giving our generation a clear message of love and unity and a happy future ahead.

PLEASE WORLD LEADERS SHAKE HAND AND START WORKING ON IT

  • BLOW IT MASON!, NOW!!!

  • @orkneymist Truth hurts, doesn't it?The Russians had to use the technology we gave them to do what they do.Their space shuttle was a copy of ours.Americans went to the moon and nobody else did.

  • @GGE47 Shut up and do not make people laugh with tales of flying to the moon.

In 2010 the program "Constellation" was canceled .... Why? because there is no money! NO!

Because the Soviet Union collapsed and the U.S. can no longer steal Soviet technology.

The American space industry has been created by the Germans, and you stole technology from the Soviet Union permanently.

Now, With president Obama you will fly to Africa only and forget about the moon.

  • @mphet26 I have always known we didn't have the money to return to the moon and landing men on Mars.Bush and now Obama is throwing money away on everything they can think of.The Democans and Republicrats have spent us into near bankruptcy. It mostly goes to socialist programs like welfare, bailouts, and government takeovers. It is part of a grand design to turn America into a socialist state.and merge us into the New World Order. The European Union is almost there.

  • @GGE47 the russians also went to the moon, except they didn't put humans there because their moonrocket failed. But they sent the worlds first robotic probes, luna 16, 20 and 24 returned lunar soil back to earth and the worlds first rovers lunokhod 1 and 2 operated on the moons surface for months.

  • @bombarderoazul We have done all of these things on Mars.We have also filown by every planet in the solar system exept Pluto, and we have one on the way there now.It will reach Pluto in 2015.

  • @GGE47 You asshole, your entire space program was lead by Werner Von Braun, a former nazi scientist, you didin´t have the intellectual know how to go to the moon, in fact, its more fair to say the Germans went to the moon since you took off only thanks to them. While that, the Russians sure did lay their hands on some German tech, but the entire space program was lead by Korolov and Soviet minds, so everything they did, they can be pround of it because its THEIR INTELECTUAL work!

  • @2129261184 I know what WernerVon Braun did for our space program. He designed the Saturn V that took us to the moon.It was his decision to surrender to the Americans than to the Russians. He didn't want to serve Stalin. The communists were no better than the nazis.Over here after he was accepted he had a much more frree hand in making decisions. He himself was not a Nazi like in Russia, most people were not Communists. His V2 rockets were used mostly against England, and had little military value.

  • I love that color pinkish coming out from that rocket engine. I can tell that it's very reliable.

  • How come the US doesn't use a rocket like this?

It works and it is simple and cheap.

  • soyuz looks pretty in the sky with the colourful flames

  • american challengers - sucks

  • american challengers Yoshka777????

    You suck!

  • beautiful mrocket, Russia builds em pretty

  • That's nice

  • I've always loved the Russian approach to aerospace. Solid, basic engineering, no frills construction, multiple redundancy, etc. It may not be "pretty," but it is beautiful in its reliability and ruggedness. A lot of Russian technology may appear old, but that is only because the design is so perfect it doesn't need to change. If I ever get a chance to visit space, I would definitely choose to travel with Russia.

  • It is sad the Americans dumped the mighty Saturn Five...Now that was a rocket launch! over 3500 tonnes of thrust booming up and down the Florida coast! Wow! Take me to the Moon! Of course these babies today like the Shuttle aint no slouch at putting on a show but wow! Ya cant beat 3500 tonnes of thrust!

Yowsa But I am glad to see at least they are refurbishing that one remaining Saturn V they use for a display.

  • Sorry about blabbin on about the Saturn V as I watched the Soyuz lift off smoothly. That is what I like about the Russian space program. If something works well dont fiddle with it. I always chuckle at how Korolev got the bureaucrats to ok his use of this rocket to orbit Sputnik 1 and how they came around quickly to his way of thinking as we in the west were jumping up and down and going manic as we saw the carrrier rocket travelling over our countries!

  • @pgtlaser Russia's space stuff is kinda old-fashioned but really reliable, strong enough. And... we gotta admit that R-7 for Vostok Sputnik was really... imposing. What a job they've started!

  • @pgtlaser Hah. It is old. It's old because they can't make anything new. And the U.S. has both done it better: STS, with far more capability than any other spacecraft EVER made (satellite retrieval, airlock, cross-range capability), and cheaper: SpaceX Falcon 9/Dragon 9, 1/2 the price for each astronaut.

Don't forget the free society the USA is, say a wrong word and you could go to jail or worse in Russia; I don't want to go somewhere like that.

  • @pgtlaser I thought it was "pretty" lol

  • @pgtlaser So true about Soyuz, and that is why I am a huge SpaceX fan too. Simple reliable system that works and can be a workhorse.

  • Russian rocket technology is second to none.

  • Muppet, you missed the point. See, if only you'd stuck in at school..............

  • What about world poverty????????????????

  • What about it? there will always be poor people in earth. And if all people would live like you do... earth could not surive from that.

  • Socialism breeds poverty. Our war on poverty was lost before it began. We wasted trillions on these socilistic programs. We spent far less in going to the moon and what came after.

  • Dammit! You guys were supposed to wait until Oct 14th to launch! Beautiful vid, btw.

  • soyuz are great, but hope ares rockets were be better:P

  • and these rockets cost like, more than 30 times less than a space shuttle flight

  • wow! soviets still explore space. americans explore kommunizm way of rulling economy. bu-ga-ga.

  • Moore electronic systems on board, moore compurters, moore digital systems...worst it is !

Old russian mechanical systems works 101% reiable in space for decades now!

  • Russian space vehicles are way moore reable and durable just becouse they are NOT so high tech. as american ones !

  • The russian spaceships more reliable than american!!! Why you wrote about the Russian space technologies, you know nothing about it...

  • Please don`t tell me that Proton-M, R-7, Zenit and Energia are unreiable lounchers !

+ Progres and Soyuz TMA vehicles will soon be replaced by new designed Kliper and Parom spacecrafts !

Russian space program has way less fatal accidents and incidents than US space program !

US technology has proven itself very voulrnable in space !

  • Americans constantly have problems on shatles! By the way on statisticans, americans have more victims among cosmonauts!!! Russia is in the lead in space, it is the fact proved by the American space travellers!!!

  • So what Im saing ?

You obviusly do not understand English very well...do you ?

    :-)

  • Yes, my english sucks, but i understnd that you wrote...

  • Слава России !!!

Слава русскому народу - Народу героев !!!

    СМЕРТЬ ЗАПАДHИKOM !!!

    i

  • СПАСИБО :)

  • perhaps you understand Russian on the appropriate level, clever boy?

  • wait wich are better ...Russian ships or American?

im just asking cuz i dont know which are safer an faster?.

  • The american spaceships faster and more powerfully, but the russian ships it is more safe. NASA spends huge money for start of their ships for start of the russian spaceships is necessary the less fuel, and less powerful raketo-carriers! It is logical that space travellers prefer the russian spaceships. Iam sorry for my bd english!!!

  • Russian are better, and actually the first to send a man in space.

American ships have almost disappeared, poor yankees are relying only on Russian until 2015.

There were much more casualties on American ships.

    Russian are much faster.

  • Exactly !

  • I hold both programs in equal regard, I would however say that America has done a better job of pushing the envelope. Therefore the further you want to "explore" and the more frequent you do so law of average states that you are going to have both non casualty and casualty incidents that ALL space programs receive the data for and adjust. While the Soyuz hasn't significantly changed in the years I am sure the lessons learned by America have helped save lives in Russia, and vice versa.

  • I would also add that its not so much a competition any more, both agencies have solid modes of transportation and the are working together to achieve more than what either nation might be able to do alone.

  • Impressive.

  • that missile is going in the general direction of the USA

  • how come russian space stations look ghetto? lol

  • I always thought the same thing. You'd think they would make it look modern, but it looks like a POS. Only reason I can think of is because it takes a decade to design and build something like that. And a lot of technology changes in 10 years so it's already outdated by the time they launch it.

  • Form follows function. Weight is important also. Rockets, space stations, satellites, etc, are designed with only the bare essentials. No sense in wasting resources and weighing it down trying to make it look cooler.

  • WOOOOHOOOOOOOOO! GO RUSSIA YEEEEEEEE!!!!

have a good flight and a soft landing

  • great,go Russia!

  • Beautiful Spacecraft!

  • thank you it is a beautiful spacecraft and we can be space buddies.

  • have a nice trip

  • looks more stable then US Space Shuttle, which blows up sometimes :(

  • Dear Baikonur Cosmodrome Team,

Hearty congratulations on yet another perfect liftoff. A great deal of engineering work must be done "behind the scenes" to achieve this. Super job!

  • Kick ass.

  • perfect

  • Beautiful!!!

  • Reminds me of a Bill Hicks quote: "Here's what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money that we spend on weapons and defense each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace." - Bill Hicks

  • spacecraft blast-off WATCH THIS FILM NEXT IMPORTANT

  • Huh?

  • old but works perfectly ^^ good reliable russian engineering

  • looks nice

  • smooth..
