  • He has to get at least a 9-game look for the Rangers this year; he fills a need of bruising D-man.

So what if he doesn't score? That's why the Rangers have Marc Staal and Mike Del Zotto or Tim Erixon.

  • @AEMoreira81

    Marc Staal is a scorer?

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAH YEAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • mcilrath still dropped him even with the jersey over his head. nice lol. we hav enough skilled defensemen. we need a tough guy on our team cuz we're punching bags most of the time unless its prust, dubi, cally, or avery

  • Can't wait for him to be a New York Ranger.

He will destroy any player who runs into Lundqvist.

  • he's a damn good fighter shit maybe he fits rangers better than fowler would

  • nice tussle

  • though i believe the rangers should have drafted cam folwer(offensive d man which the rangers also lack) im not to disappointed with this pick because he can give alot of energy to a rangers team that is pretty soft

  • I love how the announcer starts orgasming when Mcilrath drops the other guy.

  • There Wasn't Much Skill Involved this past playoffs with winning the cup, obviously for whoever watched the goals were achieved only by grinding and aggressive play, not sidney crosby miracle goals. Thankfully the Rangers realized if your not going to win with skill, try too win with toughness.

  • he put all of his 180 lbs., behind that punch !!! LMAO!! Keep your head up son, otherwise it will be in your ass!! welcome to the NHL son!!

  • I have been calling for a D-man who had a nasty streak since Henrik came into the league. To all the people that keep saying we should have grabbed a more skilled d-man instead.. let me point out that our entire system is filled with "skilled" d-man who aren't feared on the ice. Girardi is fairly tough and maybe Staal, but neither have the nasty streak.. We already have DelZotto, Sanguinetti, McDonagh,Gilroy and of course the shittwins Rosy and Redden. Maybe this kid is the right move.

  • One of the main reasons I hate the rangers is because they always seem to stockpile goons & instigators. They could've had Fowler or some other quality player.

  • @mlong86 Shows how much you know. The Rangers have, aside from Sean Avery, a very soft team. They needed a big, banging defenseman to protect the skill players and to protect Lundqvist, who's always getting run into and beaten on by other teams because the Rangers lack a big D-man who can keep other teams' players out of the crease.

  • @istealllamas aside from sean avery??? Avery is a playmaker, an instigator, a pisseroffer. But he really doesnt fight on a regular basis. But anyway ur completely wrong. The 3rd & 4th lines are filled with big guys like prust and shelley.

  • @danman745 You mean, they got Prust and Shelley -- both last year -- because the team lacked toughness. Who'd they have before that? Kasparaitis? That's a couple years ago already.

  • @istealllamas last time i checked Marc Staal is still a tough as nails mofo, mind you any team could use a player like McIlrath!!! he plays solid D and never loses fights!

  • @istealllamas kid your fucking retarded they have boogaard vorros and prust!! i think they are just fine

  • @zZPhyZiiKZz I'm retarded, says the guy who still thinks Aaron Voros is on the Rangers, and also can't spell "you're" or "Voros." By the way, if you've noticed, neither Boogaard nor Prust is a defenseman (and neither is non-Ranger Aaron Voros). So they can't serve the goalie-protecting function that a big defenseman like, say, Kyle McLaren can.

In conclusion, the next time you want to call someone retarded, do the following things: 1. Get your facts straight. 2. Learn to spell. 3. Shut up.

  • @istealllamas well he also should realize that Voros is one of the leagues punching bags.

  • @istealllamas I agree with most of your post, but we do have some grit up front along with Avery, theres: Ryan Callahan, Brian Boyle, Brandon Prust. But we are very soft on defense. Thats where Dylan will help, except I don't think he will be ready for the NHL by next season.

  • @mlong86 Perhaps you're referring to the Leafs? The Rangers had approximately 0.5 tough guys the entire year. Avery is an agitator, not someone who'd intimidate opponents. We're about as scary as untied shoelaces, and that's being nice. I was a bit shocked by drafting McWrath at first, but I'm seriously warming up to this.

  • @Oghomiedontplaydat I actually find it very frightening when I look down and see my shoelaces are untied. But I agree, I was shocked they went for this guy 10th overall, but I trust Gordie Clark because unlike that idiot running the free agent stuff, he knows what he's doing.

  • What a Fail. Well, thanks sather. We could have had Fowler, the top defenceman. No, we get an instigator who probably won't be in the NHL any time soon. Not to mention, Fowler looked really sad and disappointed when he wasn't picked for New York.

  • i dont even know what to think of this guy. its pretty clear the rangers got him because he's a tough guy, but i feel like there were so many other guys they couldve drafted. derek forbort maybe?

  • Let's Go Rangers!

  • CN Rail could use a train like Dylan!!

  • Stampohar by no mean's eased up, he was still trying to unload on Mcllrath when he got caught with that bomb.

This announcer is a clown though.

  • dudes, mcilrath is a beast. he would have won without the refs.

  • let it be known, the refs moved in to stop the fight because stomp had the upper hand and was about to administer abeat down. john shut it down as soon as the ref grabbed his arm. the other ref failed to do his job and restrain the other player, which in essence was a 2 on 1` against stomp. fricken ref should have gotten a 3rd man in and suspension for causing bodily injury. total incompetance on their part, a blunder that deserves some kind of sanction.

  • @shooter5719 HAHAHA dude McIlrath would have killed him even with his jersey blocking his view! you know nothing about asskickings!

  • What a homer announcer, this guy is bad. Did he have half a brain and realise that Stampohar coulda teed off but didnt, then he eased up because the refs were on him, THEN Macilrath pops him.

  • Then you kind of have to ask, what was Stampohar thinking.
