If you want meaningless music thats catchy, thats fine go find some pop music. If your want something with meaning and emotion, I say this stuff is great. Ambiguity is bland and doesn't allow you to get a good meaningful message across, it's better for an artist to put heart and soul into music and truly express himself/themselves.
I think an artists beliefs and emotions should flow through them into their music. Its what makes it theirs. Emotion, religion, beliefs, these are powerful things, as an artist your desire should be to scream/sing it out. Its things that are important to them.
The one thing I don't like about Angels & Airwaves (or in any band for that matter) is reference to religon or God. It makes it less accessable to a wider audience, and being an Athiest, it somewhat deters me from full relation to lyrics/meaning in a song. I'm not saying that an artist shouldn't feel inspiration from a belief, but ambiguity of this feeling is better than speaking directly of a God, because nobody can honestly say who/what God is or if he even exists. Despite this, I love AvA.
@jogabonitoant I understand what you mean totally. I, too, am an atheist and even if a song is absolutely amazing once I find out it is about God or religion I feel a little bit eh towards it.
