  • he was on cayamo last week

  • This song kicks ass and you know it!! I am so getting the MP3!

  • I heard this song once (and only ever once) on the radio like 2 years ago and have been hooked on it ever since. It ticks me off when great songs like this get swept under the rug, lost in time. A lot of good songs that few people know about have gone this way in the past, leaving only crap ass songs that people know in its wake. I bet I am one of a few people that even know this song exists (or at least this version of it). I know this song is better than some of the crap I'm hearing now.

  • @DarkComet360 I did the same thing. I heard it and then it evaporated into the atmosphere... thx 4 the post, whoever posted it!

  • "The American" was the first CD I ever bought, and one of the last since "we" have moved on to MP3s. I'm glad I bought it. :)

  • just heard of him tonight. he was playing at the "Tin..." something here in ATL i was like dude your good, and then i came home and looked him up. i didn't know he was a big artist back in the 90's. I had a beer right in front of him lol. its crazy, this world we live in.

  • You have no idea how many different things i had to type in google search to find this!! I could only remember the words "spaceship" and "lemonade" in the lyrics, lol! It was on some cd my roommate had back in 2001 & the song brings me back to being 18 again...so thanks for uploading!!!!!!!! :)

  • 4 people are full of shit!

  • I love this guy, so under appreciated! Wish there was more music like this coming out. But sadly no lol. I remember seeing this video and hearing a short stint on the radio then. So glad you posted this video, this has made my day! Hope he comes back to NC sometime soon wanna see him again!!!!!

  • I first saw him years ago at a local Atlanta club. I also saw him open for Shawn Mullins at Grant Park Zoo one night a few summers back. Great artist.

  • I like it, new sound! :-)

  • He's playing an acoustic show in Atlanta this Sunday.

  • Summerfest weekend for Angie!

  • Wow so is this what they call singing as opposed to the autotune crap that we're forced to listen to on the radio?

  • 2:20

Come play with us, Angie... forever, and ever...

    *shuts door*

  • For much better sound quality, minus the cool video, go here...

  • 3 People never got their lemonade

  • I love this, a reminder of the good old days

I remember hearing this back in early 2001, another very good artist who was well overlooked.

In terms of his appearence, Angie reminds me of someone, but i don't know if i should say who it is in case i get backlash for it

  • whoever DOSNT like angie aparo sorry to say but they suc

  • And here is an acoustic version of "Spaceship"

  • I love anyone that loves Angie, simply because you can "listen" and understand real music such as this. Here is something I think most of you will enjoy very much...

  • I love this song! I 1st heard it back in 2000 and would request it twice during my work day.... Good job on posting the video. I didnt even know he had one for it. It damn near made me "grow up" during that time. Thanks to a coworker I 'll never forget this cat who told me his name. Thanks Joel

  • I´m from Venezuela and this tune was played over and over in the radio, it was my favorite at the time and bring back memories of my university years. Great lyrics it makes me so happy to be able to listen to it again. Thanks for uploading this!!!!

  • Some of the lyrics of this song are ironic after the way the industry mistreated him. Especially the line "And FAME has let you down" he never got the chance to have the true sense of fame because of the horrible music industry not promoting him as they should or allowing the TRUE talent of Angie to be seen. So the world never got the opportunity to know the blessedly awesome talent of him. We who do cherish what an amazing person he is. I could listen to him hourly, daily...

  • Saw him in the early 2000's at the 106.5 Weenie Roast in Charlotte, NC. He was truly one of the best performers there. Gotta see him again for sure. Awesome stage presence! Glad he is still around. Just so others know, Angie wrote/sang "Cry" not Faith Hill, not knocking her down, and his vocals are more pleasing to the ears. Good luck to him and artists like him because they are very progessive as well as under-rated.

  • Man, I watched MTV2 when it was just 24 hour music videos (before it became just what it says, MTV 2) and listened to all the alternative rock stations but yesterday when this came up on Last FM is the first I've heard this awesome song! 10 years too late! Oh well.

  • 5 stars... LOVE this song! the best musical artist you never heard of..Angie Aparo

check out Faith Hill's 'cry' duet with Angie..

    Funcingfantastic!

  • i am a former and present day studio engineer and when i first heard this tune and even now it blows me away totally.the lyrics and the effects are ingenious the melody kicks my ass everytime i hear it and the momentum is perfect.

  • A friend turned me on....he is awesome!

  • Angie is touring mostly around the southeast and Atlanta. If you ever get the chance to see him perform at places like Smith's Old Bar in Atlanta, do it! After his show, he will gladly talk to you and do pictures and autographs. Very cool cat.

  • @grantdavismusic i lived in atlanta and knew right away id seen him in the buckhead clubs but i heard this tune and knew immediately he was from atlanta or the surrounding areas of fulton dekalb or athens counties cities. like REM etc.really awesome sound!!

  • I haven't heard this song for many, many years. I heard this song way back in 2000, and could never remember the name although I did remember Angie Aparo. A local radio station played this, and I simply loved it. I cannot fathom why I didn't think to google it sooner, but I am ever so happy I did. This takes me back to some foggy times in my memories, nostalgia is wonderful.

  • He was just to ahead of his time. He was EFFED over by the music industry. Easily one of the most talented out there, but he didnt fit the mold. I was blessed to get to see him live, opened for MB20 when this song was big. He is just as amazing live if not MORE.

  • my favorite song of the past decade

  • My favorite part: 2:09 "(I'm around) Play me a groove, one for my radio, one for my love that came and went (I'm around)..." One of the greatest songs ever!

  • This song its awesome !!!! after 10 years now we can say its a new classic .

  • There's something about this guy - i can't stop listening to his music.

    This song is so deep.

  • Love this guy. Wish he was still on the radio.

  • 2:50 - This guy can SING.

  • Rarely am I anything but alienated by the taste of the masses, my peers, my friends - whoever - always so quick to dis and dismiss anything exceptional. In fact, link to anything really good and I will show you columns of mean, disparaging comments. How refreshing it is to find all of you here actually listening. How nice it is to know there are others out there who get this man's brilliance - to know that even in his relative obscurity - that there is real appreciation. Thanks.

  • It saddens me to think how such great artists like angie aparo will never make it big because of the musical ignorance that has spread in this nation. Maybe one day.

  • he plays Workplay in alabama alot. he is from ATL

  • For a song that wasn't supposed to mean anything--it means and speaks volumes. Both the video and song remain just as timing and mesmerizing as ever--Angie is Awesome!!!

  • I found out about Angie on the 99X live cd.. it has an amazing version of this song! Great Tune! Hush is still my favorite song from him.

  • I freakin' love this song. He is so incredibly sexy and talented. I got to see him live a few years ago at Music Midtown in Atlanta and it was fantastic.

  • Funny thing is if you look at true artists, they don't look for recognition. They just want to create good music. It doesn't have to be typical bs that's out there now and they don't have to prove anything to anyone. I can't wait till he comes back to my town so i can hear some more true music.

  • @shioriryukaze Very good point. True artist always make the best music because they are doing it simply for the love of making music. It isn't forced, and they aren't simply doing what the record companies are telling them.

  • Excellent song from a brilliant artist. This whole album is really good, solid all the way through. F*k the record industry. Tho I'm sure he's treated well from the Faith Hill cover of "Cry".

  • I've always wanted to ask what the significance of Angie's palm flashing then turning black.

  • My god. Its been almost ten years since ive heard this song! Thank you so much for uploading :)

  • Buenisimo!!! me encanta este tema y me hace recordar mis dias en la universidad que fueron toda una eopca... genial!!! me da sentimientooooo!!

  • WOW! This song invokes so many feelings and memories for me. I discovered it when I was 15 or 16 and played it out for YEARS!

  • yeah i saw angie aparo in columbia south carolina a few years back and his guitarist tried a jump a hurt himself ...pretty good show though

  • Haven't heard this song in -years-. Great video

  • Angie Aparo is one of the unsung gods of American music. Not only a brilliant songwriter, but one of the most electrifying voices ever recorded! His every song is a virtual course in how to write music. A true genius!

  • This guy had so much potential, it was a shame he didn't get the recognition he deserved. His album was unique and great to listen too, I still listen to it to this day.

  • @BlackSpiral2000 Amen!!!!

  • Such a cool song.

  • ooohh my fuc*** god hahaha! this song i really like it...! when i was 13th yeas old i've listened so many times, and i dont know how is called! hehehe! =) cheers and thank u!

  • what ever happened to this guy? i never here from him anymore. is he still around?

  • @therpk11

He's still rollin, though after the way he was treated by the music industry back then(promoting boy-bands over REAL artists) he's likely never to try going big again.

He has his own site though, with listings of small club gigs.

  • Listened the hell out of this guy 10 years ago, was wondering the same question. He does small time stuff, not as he used to though. He comes to Hilton Head a lot.

  • @Skybaby79 I find the irony in this song though, the whole thing about "fame has let you down" because thats excatly what the industry did to him. Promoted crap over an amazingly talented ARTIST

  • @therpk11 famous artists ARE still spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to buy his songs... and we get to hear them in small venues.. :) ...me thinks it's better that way

  • @spokenintoexistence :absolutely! Glad to hear he's making a nice retirement fund- totally deserves it.......I fucking HATE the music industry.......

  • @therpk11 i like the small gigs betterm you get to know him better, and he likes to get to know people. he's a wonderfull guy. A++ true talint. its hard to find anymore

  • @therpk11 He's still touring. Mostly in Georgia and South Carolina. I saw him New Years day in Atlanta and he was amazing. Such a wonderful singer and great person.

  • @therpk11 Angie's playing at Piedmont Park here in Atlanta on Sunday, June 5th. I was pleased to hear he's still around and playing shows.

  • @therpk11 He's from GA, if I remember correctly. He tours a lot down south. I've seen him many times in Charlotte, NC & the surrounding areas. I think he mainly focuses on the NC/SC/GA/TN areas. Has had 3 or 4 albums put out. One was an album of covers. He's REALLY fantastic live. A very down to earth guy. Met him a few times, too & chatted w/him. My husband had a beer w/him one time after a show. Definitely go see him live if you get a chance.

  • I saw him at Music Midtown in Atlanta in 2000

  • This songs reminds me a girl that i fell in love with but its still a great song for me

  • Such a good song! Always felt like a really sad song to me. As many times as I've heard it, I'd never seen the video. Thanks for sharing.

  • AWESOME

  • internet tough guys get all the girls... fag.

  • LOL yeah, good one.

ruhsheyall is ten feet tall in front of a PC

  • just checked out your youtube channel. i encourage others that read his comments to do the same....that is all.

  • Come back anytime bro.

  • ew horrible quality

  • I would truly love to see you do better

    XD

  • I wish the radio would play more good stuff like this.

  • At the time this came out Brittany Spears and the boy bands were big, They made it to radio, but were drowned out. Guess what that says about the industry.

  • i discovered him on mtv2 - where boybands and britney were not allowed! this guy, the Gorillaz, Wise Guys, wow... now that was some good music back then :) they dont do that anymore. but i feel like i'm the lucky one to have seen it when it was brand new.

  • In that case, I'm lucky I've got this album in my collection.

  • Good point.

  • we could all dream eh! :)

  • Angie Aparo = Simply Amazing!
