  • What beautiful handwriting as he signs in... soon to be a lost art. In my state, public schools are no longer teaching children cursive writing.

  • He could've played Andy Taylor or his brother.

  • You can't really disguise his voice! He was awesome!

  • Tennessee Ernie was such a sweet, sweet man. It is too bad that the panel guessed him so quickly. Him saying "Yes, ma'am" to one of Arlene's questions was a give away. I suspect Bennett knew who it was after the first question. In any case it is a shame that this clip did not last longer. As I said he was such a sweet man. It was genuine too from everything I have read. Today all we have are jerks like Charley Sheen. Yuck!!

  • Ernie Ford had a really fine voice.

  • @MsSarjen There wasn't a sweeter sounding base/baritone in the world. Wish he had sung more of the classics and the Great American songbook.

  • Tennessee Ernie Ford looks like Jack Dodson.

  • @WWEChampion16 Jack Dodson looks like Tennessee Ernie Ford. Ford is older by almost 11 years.

  • My first exposure to Tennessee Ernie Ford was his guest appearances on "I Love Lucy."

  • With such a unique voical sound ...when T.E.F. answered the first question ...it was a give-away...He is a mighty fine dude- I think he was in an early Andy Griffith show , he also performed an annual Christmas Special on TV for many years-

  • I want Arlene's headband! Sooo cute. She had very good taste in jewlery and accessories, she often wears timeless pieces that are always in fashion.

"I get alot of his mail and you ought to read some of it" haha

    Thank you for sharing!

  • the one with tyrone power as guest; any1 know what year that was?

  • Ernie Ford -- now there was a singing voice to remember. Funny, too -- ( 2:44 ) is classic and probably true as well.

  • Gig Young solved two of the games on 4 May 1958, but this is one of his rare WML appearances.

At the end of this broadcast, Arlene asked actor Gig Young to say hello to Elizabeth, meaning Gig Young's then wife Elizabeth Montgomery -- who for some reason never did do a mystery guest appearance.

  • one of the true gentlemen of that tv era. professionally trained musician who wrote several of his own compositions.
