who would ask if a PLYMOUTH roadrunner would have a CHEVY LS6 454 in it? seems like a dumb question. maybe i missed somethin. really nice car my friend. thanks for the video.
I think the 440 is less than the Hemi. The Hemi block has more webbing and the hemi heads are much larger. I don't know the total weight. 750# sounds high. I would think 600# is more likely. Throw on some Edelbrock heads / intake could knock off another 100#
everyone always says hemi hemi hemi.. but dont be puttin down the 440.. one of the meanest motors ever produced.. Not much of a horsepower difference and alot cheaper to hop up.. My 69 charger is runnin a 440/727 combo.. underrated engine.. guaranteed if tuned right with a correct setup this would leave a 454 chevelle like it was standin still...
I have a 1968 Chevy El Camino, and I would never put a 454 in it. You know why? They are slow, I agree with you. I would probably give away my El Camino for a '69 or 70 Road Runner with a 440 in it, or a 383 Magnum.
With a good driver and a 440 in a 70 Road Runner, that car has been proven to run as quick as low 12's stock. My El Camino, I would be lucky to hit a 16 second quarter mile with it being stock. (It's not an SS either).
That 428 Cobra Jet Mustang hit 13.4 before in the quarter.
440 hemi? huh 330-331-352?-392-426,not counting the crates,oh yeah and the 5.7? give me a break, although over my years i have heard that the 440 was preffered to the 426 twin carter/thermo quads, opinians very
Damn, that looks EXACTLY like my Runner!!! R4, no vinyl, body colored steelies with dog dishes.... only your car sounds way better, LOL. Thanks for posting! Please visit 69 Road Runner dot org when you get a chance.

Dem road runners are such beast. Them road runners will always be my favourite car. Always, and forever.
By the way, is that your road runner?
zweezyy24 2 years ago 6
It was. I sold it a while back.

I see. Them road runners are REAL nice cars though.
I'd sell it to also. Well, after a while.
zweezyy24 2 years ago
man, what a machine man. why did you sell that awesome car? I have a question about that car, does it have ram-air?
hjavgvm 2 years ago
I had too many. Had to clear out a few. This did not have ram air. I added the 6pack hood.

It is a 440

Does the 440 weigh as much as the Hemi or less? I've heard stories of these BB's weighing as much as 750lbs.

jimmy, yeah i agree with you about the chevelle, but the 454 was pretty slow in my opinion
