I've been looking for this song since July!! Omg two kids played this at separate times at my music camp and I could never find the song lol this is sooo lovely I'm going to play it at the valentines day gala my aunt us hosting -3
I don't understand the professional critics' approach to Michael Rabin. They say his early death deprived us of the chance t he him as a mature artist. Yet, his recordings of most pieces are ranked among the very best. I've heard little from him that requires a more mature insight. This man was one of the greats.
I hav the Columbia 10" LP of the Paganini Caprices that Rabin recorded in 1950 when he was about 14 yrs. ld. Waht a genius. We at least have this legacy of his art and memory.
whoa that's absolutely amazing he plays with so much emotion and love to music...it sounds like his violin is "crying"...wonderful...it's great if you take this recording, listen to 2-3 notes, stop the recording, then try to play it just the same way like him and then mix that with your own interpretation and work on the whole piece in that way...it's fantastic!!
i just can give you the advise to try it out one time!
Perhaps the finest recording of this, but does it matter? Such a beautiful soul who allowed his vulnerability to be a part of his incredible "crying" tone.

The world in general should be grateful indeed for the genius of michael rabin.

I've watched many videos of many violinists and majority of michael rabin's videos has unanimous likes, others have few dislikes

@operamark1 I think what they want to say is that the world just cannot get enough of an artist like Michael Rabin.

The tone is really vibrant. By the way, did you get this from the dvd "Famous violinists from the Bell Telephone hour?"

how old was he when he played it?

Magnificent violinist of our time. Sadly enough he died much too young, but we can still enjoy and admire his playing.
Thank you for posting this lovely piece!
