As long as people remain stubborn with thier beliefs and justify thier actions based on these beliefes, war will exsist. Only until people set aside thier differences and work towards a common goal will we obtain world peace.. question is.. what goal could we all work towards????
War is not human nature, it is our acceptance and tolerance of it that perpetuates it. I am an American and I do not condone any of it,nor do I accept it and openly protest against it. I dedicate this to the late Howard Zinn.
This song is beautiful. It is like the 'Song of Humanity'...
We're an amazing species... we've discovered so much, we understand so much of the world around us and yet, we fight amongst ourselves with little regard for life.
I closed my eyes and let images develop while listening to this...
It's simultaneously praiseful of humanity while it decries our brutal side...
Sigur Ros no es música, son recuerdos hechos notas, son momentos hechos líquido, que reemplazan la sangre y se escurren con cada latido, alimentando al cuerpo de nostalgia....
Sigur ros is not music, are memories made notes, are moments made liquid, they replace the blood and run through our veins, feeding the body with nostalgy...

Exactly, a lot of my friends when they heard Go was in english, they were like "Nice maybe I'll actually 'get' them now, I might like them now". I was just like why do you need lyrics to get the music, not knowing makes it so much more than just words, it's spiritual and direct with no connotations except what it means to you. Part of Sigur Ros' beauty is not knowing, Sigur Ros is a void of unknown emotions. Sigur Ros <3
@layo83 It calms you down? Well it's the opposite with me..I get pictures of dying, loathing children and women during war, which make me to cry.. I can't describe the feeling.. You can never put words on feelings though.. Only try.

That girl is a woman now and she got burnt when the americans drop napalm in vietnam war.she had been at a Tv show in germany and they still have to take care of her skin.she knows how to fight and she has still to take a lot of pain.
Reply to nicobn2: You can, actually. She survived her burns, became a physician, and eventually emigrated to Canada where she lives today. She is the subject of a book, "The Girl in the Picture"
@nicobn2 (cont.) The napalm was dropped by South Vietnamese Air Force tactical bombers guided onto the village by a U.S. Army forward air controller who had been assured, falsely, by unscrupulous ARVN officers that there were no "friendlies" (civilians) in the target area.
@Ilasw6jt (concl.) The FAC saw that soon-to-be-famous photo in The Stars and Stripes the next day and was tortured by anger and guilt for many years,....then flabbergasted to discover (from the publication of her book) that she was alive. He sought her out and approached her after one of her public speaking engagements, identifying himself and apologizing for his error. She forgave him on the spot.

@nicobn2 It's not American napalm its human nature, you tell me that if the Vietnamese or the Africans or the Mexica's or the Indians or any other country that was the no.1 power that the world would be different?, Human beings will create atrocities no matter what nationality or race, evil just exists, everyone should stop on the anti-American crusade and realise this. By the way I'm not American.
@owenstheused We U.S. citizens are no more proud of the things we have been involved in that have hurt the planet but it is a lot like Billy Joel said "We didn't Start the fire" the problem is that like most countries the U.S. reacts instead of planning for the long term affects. Despite having the right to vote we also have little control in making our leaders live up to their promises anymore then any other country. Thanks for an honest effort to see the reality of the situation.
@pejeno but as George Carlin said:the politicians of america did not fall from the sky, they did not crawl through from another reality. They came from american families, american schools, were voted by american people...and he was an american comedian.can't argue with that.
@pejeno be against the government, but remember every nation has committed atrocities. The English against the Scots, the Germans against the Jews, the Chinese against their own and countless African nations; it is part of this messed up world we live in. I't's easy to look at the here and now and even the past like that pic of the Vietnam war and say American is evil, but they didn't butcher 6 million Jews.
@bigdiezel619 , Yes but if you look at it closely, many of the conflicts you are quoting, American government is often involved in those conflicts, some with the awareness of the public (populations) somes in secrecy, but always with a bunch of LIES. Never remember WAR IS BUSINESS; during WW2 general motors furnished most of german army, it was an american company (don't remember the name) who was in charge of producing the gas that killed millions of Jews in the death camp....etc
@TheKatsu89 What i wannna say, is that some people which are part of many different businesses (politics, economics, science, energy...etc) Who rule the world, in secret and their goal is (as it's called) "the new world order". People never wanted war, it's always some few powerful people who decide for everybody, according to their plan (which is not for our profit), don't be a fool your vote for president doesn't change anything, when some people rule the world's economy.
@TheKatsu89 Your future president will just have to say "Yes" to what they ask. Money, rules, this is the real power and the people who have this power just want more power. That's it. War, Peace, Politics, Economy, all that is an illusion to hide the fact that we are slaves.
@owenstheused You're right that power corrupts, but surely we should fight that corruption and blame the corrupt rather than dismissing it as our nature
amazing video , loved this song with so long. No doubt it got me through some dark times. Great compilation , only a matter of time till it reaches 2 or 3 million views.Well done

I wonder what it must be like to be bombed by American Napalm. We should ask this little girl.
nicobn2 3 years ago 2

@nicobn2 As bad as coming home one day to find that the VC skinned your family alive?

@nicobn2 It's not American napalm its human nature, you tell me that if the Vietnamese or the Africans or the Mexica's or the Indians or any other country that was the no.1 power that the world would be different?, Human beings will create atrocities no matter what nationality or race, evil just exists, everyone should stop on the anti-American crusade and realise this. By the way I'm not American.

@owenstheused I don't know why you imply I'm making a case against America; I was solely reflecting on recent events.
nicobn2 1 year ago
@owenstheused We U.S. citizens are no more proud of the things we have been involved in that have hurt the planet but it is a lot like Billy Joel said "We didn't Start the fire" the problem is that like most countries the U.S. reacts instead of planning for the long term affects. Despite having the right to vote we also have little control in making our leaders live up to their promises anymore then any other country. Thanks for an honest effort to see the reality of the situation.

@owenstheused We're not against the american people. We're just against their goverment.
pejeno 2 months ago 29
@pejeno So I guess that means your with the American people or at least the majority.
oshory 2 months ago
@oshory I guess you didn't get it. Most of the americans are against those measures their goverment take against other countries.
I am with those americans.
Theire goverment is a mess, but what goverment isn't these days?
Sadly, the difference is that they're a world power and they impose their policies regardless of what other countries think of them.
pejeno 2 months ago
@pejeno I read you loud and clear.
oshory 2 months ago
@pejeno but as George Carlin said:the politicians of america did not fall from the sky, they did not crawl through from another reality. They came from american families, american schools, were voted by american people...and he was an american comedian.can't argue with that.

@pejeno be against the government, but remember every nation has committed atrocities. The English against the Scots, the Germans against the Jews, the Chinese against their own and countless African nations; it is part of this messed up world we live in. I't's easy to look at the here and now and even the past like that pic of the Vietnam war and say American is evil, but they didn't butcher 6 million Jews.
bigdiezel619 1 month ago
@bigdiezel619 , Yes but if you look at it closely, many of the conflicts you are quoting, American government is often involved in those conflicts, some with the awareness of the public (populations) somes in secrecy, but always with a bunch of LIES. Never remember WAR IS BUSINESS; during WW2 general motors furnished most of german army, it was an american company (don't remember the name) who was in charge of producing the gas that killed millions of Jews in the death camp....etc
TheKatsu89 3 weeks ago
@TheKatsu89 What i wannna say, is that some people which are part of many different businesses (politics, economics, science, energy...etc) Who rule the world, in secret and their goal is (as it's called) "the new world order". People never wanted war, it's always some few powerful people who decide for everybody, according to their plan (which is not for our profit), don't be a fool your vote for president doesn't change anything, when some people rule the world's economy.
TheKatsu89 3 weeks ago
@TheKatsu89 Your future president will just have to say "Yes" to what they ask. Money, rules, this is the real power and the people who have this power just want more power. That's it. War, Peace, Politics, Economy, all that is an illusion to hide the fact that we are slaves.
TheKatsu89 3 weeks ago
@owenstheused All we know about human nature is that it changes.
magicdarragh 2 months ago
@owenstheused
Such "evil" should be resisted and condemned where ever encountered.
Be it america or elsewhere, it doesn't matter. You are right it's about the human nature,
but it doesn't get any better if you just look away whenever stronger hurts weaker.
ladoga 2 months ago
@owenstheused You're right that power corrupts, but surely we should fight that corruption and blame the corrupt rather than dismissing it as our nature
