  • Very strong! I do my chins that way too since it doesn't tire out the biceps as fast as a full chin and you get total tension in your lats the whole time.

    this would certainly apply when teaching someone a lift. but he isn't training to be able to say he can do X pullups. he is doing this exercise to achieve a certain goal(big lats/strong upper back). and he has achieved both of those goals far beyond anything your gym teacher or anyone here could even aspire to. youtubers spend way too much time and energy on silly nomenclature and too little on just putting some effort into lifting weights.

  • @MitrovicaMuslim becuz this is the widest pull up variation and its the hardest , rly frying the lats , ok now technically look at his shoulder and his wrist distance , what would happen if he would attempt to go all the way up? his shoulder would badly dislocate

  • If they are called chins, because the chin has to clears the bar, these should be called hairlines.

    But seriously, Kroc is known for only doing what works, and the top 2/3 of chins are mostly bicep, so he dropped it to really concentrate on his lats. You can see from his lats development, kroc chins and rows works, or last least for him it does.

  • @145jorgie I agree mostly, but with full squats, I'd be cautious. They put a lot of pressure on the knees, so yeah, I go parallel, and most people I know do too. Not criticising or anything, but I think half squats are a legit excersize.

  • @elendiel Yeah im the kind of guy who does full squats pretty low past 90. If you got good form you shouldnt have trouble with your knees as long as you dont do more than you can handle. At least ninety though I know some people have trouble going further. Squats are a super debatable subject though of course. Good point to bring there.

  • @145jorgie Dude, i believe it was Dorian Yates who popularized doing a limited range of motion for better results. It's a legit exercise for working one specific muscle sections. Not to mention the only way to workout with heavy weights.
