it's not stuck there sometimes, its always stuck, becaus it has to be hermetic all the time and opening in is not recomended

If you don't have the special screwdriver, you can you use needlenose pliers to loosen the special screws a few turns. Then you can use a regular philips head to do the rest.

@waqasgroups Simply unscrew the screw at the bottom of the drive, opposite to the motor.
I could not do it because I had ruined the screw.

you dont need to be careful with that crapstor... its perfectly capable of failing on its own.... maxtor sucks!

The cover is stuck to the case with what I believe to be Silicon seal (not sure).
The knife is for breaking the seal around the hard drive between the cover and the case so that the cover can be removed.
