  • Is this right outside your backyard?

  • @foroke1 No, its by the Winter Haven station.

  • @AmtrakSilverStar Could've swore I removed that comment after reading description... Thanks anyway.

  • i sure hpe amtrak has more of these

  • @trainz675 Ditto.

  • yup, 4 more comming, found out now haha

  • That heritage engine is so pretty... and it has an E-bell, to boot! Awesome catch 8D

  • @zozey1231 It sure is. Thanks.

  • what's with the car at the end of the first train

  • @livestockdana That is Amtrak's inspection car, #10001 Beech Grove.

  • Nice catch with the Amtrak heritage unit!!!!

  • @CoastStarlight11 Thanks!

  • wonderful catch!

  • @sethamtrak Thanks!

  • The ditchlights would flash if he pulls the horn lever hard enough. Happens on a few of the P42DCs.

  • Awesome...this engine is beautiful!! Even though I'm okay with Phase V having this engine on the lead makes the sencond unit look like crap. 145 is a ton better!

One interesting thing I noticed...145's ditch lights apparently don't flash?? I wonder if this is intended? I know the P40's didn't have flashing ditch lights when they were first delivered.

  • @EverywhereWest Idk, it had it's ditchlights flashing when it came thru my town, it sounds like the engineer isn't going full blast on the horn, so yea, that could be it.

  • @NahuntaSubFoamer5115 That must be it because in another video I saw the engine's lights flashing. Strange, though, I thought the lights always started flashing no matter how hard the horn button is pressed in the cab.

  • @EverywhereWest Nahh, I have a video of an Amtrak in Michigan quilling, and you can see when the horn is starting to blow, the ditchlights stay steady, but when he goes full blast, the ditchlights alternate, so yea.

  • This is a beauty! Can't wait to see the others!

  • Wait so we got in the first four units

    Phase III Retro

    Phase V

    Phase IV

    Phase IVb

    NICE!

  • @TommyBNSF Thanks. Just an addition - Amtrak is painting #156 in Phase I, #66 in Phase II, #145 in Phase III (pictured), and #117 in Phase IV. There will be no Phase IVb.

  • @AmtrakSilverStar Phase IVb is actually for cars only. It's Phase IV, only with a lighter shade of blue and the newer Amtrak logo.

  • @TommyBNSF Thats what I meant lol

  • @AmtrakSilverStar 184 is the one that is going to be repainted, not 117. 117 is just the one that's in the picture.

  • Wow that is wicked awesome! Never seen a retro P42 before! Looks good in the Phase 3 scheme.

  • @prorobo I concur, it sure looks beautiful.
