this video actually helped me because all of those other videos use socks and for competition your not gonna use a sock in your hair so yeah thanks :)
wow looks so easy and net to see. i was really surprised when the woman says that the bun cost only $3 and its freaking me out here coz i bought mine roughly$17 here in Norway. so damn expensive! however thanks for the tutorial:)
This helped so much! I went straight to my hair supply store and bought one of those doughnuts. I payed $15.99 for mine. X.x Thanks so much though this video helped a lot :) xxxx
That's really nice! I love the fact that you don't have to use like 500 bobby pins. Since i am a dancer myself it was really hard to do this sort of thing especially since i have thick hair without pins flying out all over the place. Great video
If you take it to the ends and roll it, it'll roll up the hair until you get to the roots. Then there's no extra hair and your hair will be curly the next day
that was so fast. my hair is pretty long and thick (i should probably cut it soon), it takes me forever to to that and it doesnt even look as good as yours.
I really like this style, i wear it to dance. The only problem is that my hair is fairly long so when you have to wrap the peices around the bun they stick out so i usually do a different type of bun.
I'm an ice skater and I never knew of those things. I had to stick with the plain ponytail bun, I call it the loop bun because the hair is pulled halfway through the ponytail holder. Thanks so much for this, I'll now have variety when I skate!! :)
Thanks for this video! Altho when you said that you liked the accessory because of how it matches the hair color, then I think a black sock would do for my black asian hair. Besides, I haven't seen this around here in Manila...but will be looking out for it for sure! Thanks! ^_^
These things are absolutely neat!! I used them when I did syncronized swimming we called them donuts! I got mine at the 99 cnt store it works great it is made by goody.
Ok so i have a few questions, i am a dancer and would it stay up and not fall out while dancing? And i have layered hair so will i just have to do this and then gel or bobby pin the hairs that dont quite make it? by the way , your dauters hair is gorgeous! :)
@kelseylilyflower It depends how intense your dance lessons are, for me this would never stay in but that's probably because I have 6-8 hours of dance at a time aha, my hair is layered as well, so yes, gel it back and pin it, also, if you do a bun further up on your head it will mean more strands will reach it so you'll have less short bits to deal with =)
thank you. I have that hair donut/bun former and I have had that problem with the hair out around the edges (I twist and wrap them, but that takes too long on the days I oversleep. I will be going to the beauty supply and picking up that hair net tomorrow.
This is the best doughnut bun tutorial I've seen so far. I never thought about using a hair net but it makes sense. It would make it so much easier when doing this style on yourself.
ugggs i tried tht once for my dance class, first pirouette i did and everything flew everywere even though I put in like 20 bobby pins, i find tht if its for like a dance, that just gelling a ponnytale twisting it then securing it with spiral bobypins or these huge bobby pins that they sell at most dance supply shops is good for a tight and secure bun, but the bun in this video is sooo pretty nd thnx for lettin us noe bout the hair collored bun foundation :)
sooo perfect! i got one of those bun molds from CVS yesterday, so i will definitely try this out. my hair is kinda thin so i will add pieces of hair extensions for fullness.
This is a great tutorial I love it! I used it for my sister isabel. She had a figure skating competition she looked beautiful. You can see her video on my account. Isabel Dubbeld kunstschaatsen clubwedstrijd. Do you know more special buns for dancing/skating/ballet? I don't want to do the same bun every time :p
I noticed that her hair is very shiney and soft-looking(?).. Do you do anything special to make her hair like that, or is it naturally like? love your videos!
@hair4myprincess were i live they don't have these bun foundations so i was wondering if you could do a video on how to make a perfect ballet bun without it? anywasys love your videos!!
I am a dancer and I've never used one of those things! wow i didn't even know they existed! haha i've always just twisted my hair and just wrapped it around my hair tie. this would be sooooo much easier
@vsmash14 You can use a sock and pull your hair down to the end of the sock bun and roll towards your head. I have to use a sock on my daughter's longer hair too.
@vsmash14 You could twist her hair around and around the bun mold and pin all the ends in place, or you may not need the mold at all. If you look through the videos on my channel there is one called the "cinderella hairstyle" maybe that one would work better? Good luck!
Now I know why I subscribed to you! I JUST finished using my design weaver (which you recommended) to create a fun style with my locs that I'm in the process of uploading (few hours) and I was going to stop by to say thank you again for that. Then, a few weeks ago, I picked up one of those bun foundations, one for the french roll and one shaped like a tube. I couldn't figure out how to use any of them an looked online but couldn't find any vids. Thx for this one! Do you have the other 2?
@mylaylay18 Hi, the design weaver is great, isn't it? I do have one other foundation, not sure if it's the one you have-but my daughter's hair isn't quite long enough to use it right now. The way we used it before she got her hair cut was to add it to the ends of her hair and roll it up to the top of the ponytail and then kind of fold it into a bun shape. (Similar to the way we did our Cinderella Hairstyle) Hope that helps.
@hair4myprincess Yes, jt's great! We probably have the same tool too because mine isn't long enough either but that does help a lot...love your videos. Keep up the GREAT WORK!!

napturalkassie 1 week ago
@napturalkassie it's quite hard ive done it before though
put your hair in a low pony tail.
section your hair into four peices.
depending on how long your hair is this might not work...
twirl your sections one by one round the pony tail bobbles
!! Hope this helped (this is also called a messy bun btw ) xx
