He didn't, I wish you people would read the facts, Shawn has said that Devlin kept him inside the apartment for about 6 or 7 months, he tied him up when he went to work and gagged him, Shawn would not elaborate but said that what Devlin did to him in those months would send shrinks crazy. Devlin crushed Shawn as a person in that time and got him scared enough by trying to kill him.
