Nice work....Except the mountain on the right would not be lit up on that side. Look where your sun placement is. That mountain would be lighter on the left side
you can find a tutorial on just about everything... and you can even find video tutorials on most things on youtube where you can actually SEE how to do it.
so yeah... if you want to learn some basic video editing: use the internet!
Wow the end result is awesome, I'm not much of a painter but I would like to get into it. I'm more of a Charcoal/Graphite artist, but this just looks amazing. The only thing I don't like about your videos is it takes so long to get to the end, do you have any that are sped up?
He is good in the things he is doing, but it is not art.
All his pictures are the same, there is no progress, they are coullages of 5 elements he is combining in almost all his pictures, which have no reference to each other.
Believe me,I know what Im talking about,I study art with best marks,I come from a family of artists an I passed my auditorium of landscape-painting.
Dude get off your soap box! I'm an artist as well. There are many forms of art, and you can't define it. It's subjective... Art to one person might look like crap to another "Jackson Pollock"...Many hated his work. In the grand arena of Art Mr. Ross found his niche and made a great living off of it. Just because he didn't paint the Sistine Chapel doesn't mean he isn't an artist. Everyone's a freak'n Critic! Art is much broader than your little school books tell you. Someday you might learn that.
Your work is amazing. You should give them out as presents for Christmas... They are simple, and yet elegant. Nice work! You should do more videos. 8D
Thanks. I'm not pursuing the selling of my artwork right now as I'm building a gallery of works to be displayed in the future, but if the offer was too good to pass I would be persuaded to change my mind.
It's reallly pretty, and very Bob Ross-esque. My only comment is that the middle mountain range looks too different. To me, the top line is too dark since it's so far away, and I think there might be too little detail. To me it just kind of looks like a sand dune in between Alp-like mountains. You have a wonderful wet-on-wet technique though, and I hope to try learning that technique sometime soon.
You have done a great job. You should be proud of yourself.I would love to get in to painting also.Right now I etch glass as a hobby.Keep up the good work.
i think you are very talented and its a very good painting the only improvement i can think of is the blue trees i think you could have blended the bottom and made more of a transition between them and the hills.
One comment I read sounded like you would like some help in the camera work while you paint. You should arrange it with someone close that you trust. Buy some good equipment and produce your own. If you can learn how to paint like that, you can certainly learn how to produce your own show and market it yourself. Do it yourself.
COULD YOU PLEASE ANSWER ME, NEED HELP! When I do the grass or bushes the lighter paint on my brush mixes with the darker base color on the canvas and just looks like crap. I get a blob of nothing. Any suggestions?
a thin paint will stick to a thick paint, that's Bob's golden rule. so thin the highlight color down or if your paint is already really thin then the darker base color isn't dry enough.
I'm told I'm a gifted artist but I can only do pencil and charcoal drawings. Your paintings are beautiful. And don't worry about any possibility of lighting being inaccurate. Show me a painting that doesn't have a tiny glitch in some way. The overall effect of your picture is fantastic.
Great job mate. I really enjoyed this and i hope you decide to post another one sometime sooon. If you do could you please state the colours you are using. Cheers.
On tip, really tall trees with thin trunks tend to lean, you had the tip leaning inwards towards the center, which was good, but a slant in the angle next time would make it look more realistic
I've been debating whether or not to get into wet on wet oil painting, and I think this video convinced me. It's great to see a "regular" guy making something to rival one of the masters of the technique. A couple questions: do you use all Bob Ross brand brushes and paints? Do you notice any yellowing over time with the liquid white? How long does a finished piece take to dry?
Good work. But, being a fellow artist I suggest you loosen up a little. A little more free movement with your brush and you'll be a force to be recond with. Wonderful sense of color though. The technique is great.
That is great!! I hope your still painting today!!

having the videos sped up is called "time lapse"

Thanks! I don't have any sped up, I don't know how to do that without actually speeding up and then it comes out even more shite than normal, lol

Very, very nice work. And no matter how much you mention you don't like to talk and paint at the same time - You're a great teacher.

It IS amusing seeing someone else ending up with the sun behind mountains being lit from the right.
And it is inspiring to see someone with energy enough to actually pick up a brush.
I'd like to watch more, please.
