@timberlandtim1 If by 'a bad title' you mean mis-leading, it is not. This series aired on public television in the '70s and is about Dr. Bronowski's work to understand where we came from and how we got here. A little physical anthropology mixed with cultural. The book, also titled 'The Ascent of Man", is a little easier to understand and explains better. If you haven't yet, give the other episodes a look.

Very true! I have the dvds and have had for years the book. Not only was he very bright but he also knew somo the greatest figures of the 20th Century, von Neumann, Fermim Szilard etc. This series should be on ecery school curriculum.

Glad to see someone acknowledge cultural evolution, but he's still following a vastly simplified version of physical evolution. That is, the idea that we all ascend from one lineage, one planet, one set of creatures, all independent of outside forces.
