my Thurstmaster x hotas moves 1 or 2 bounces ..But really why would u let go of your joystick in mid flight like that yes its to show how lose it is But for the money you paid for it i would just send it back as crap

there are 2 versions of the Hotas cougar, around 400€ and the new(3or 4 years ago 120€) the oldest one its much better

I have an unmodded Cougar HOTAS and although its got some play when released, its nowhere near as bad as the one in that vid.

Besides, when are you going to be flying and just let your hands go completely off the throttle?

@sirscrotum Well, I don't know about you, but since we're not actually in the cockpit of an Air Force A-10, I have a Coke on my right, chips to my left, and some itchy nuts that need scratching. So my hands leave the stick (for the game) quite often.

@MTFDarkEagle I see with my heart, not my eyes. It looks like an Evenstrain Cougar, which is what I have but it's been YEARS since I used a stock Cougar that I forgot what the gimbals were like.

An interesting fact. The Warthog's helical sprig mechanism does not allow for >independent force for X and Y axes (like in real planes!)< which is provided by gimbal mechanisms like that of the original Cougar or the mod presented here on the left.

A video that shows.... nothing important :) A freely laid hand will provide much higher damping than the right case which means that if user will feel the difference at all it will be negligible.
