@MrIrishlogic - I completely disagree, but I respect your opinion. To me, Jacques was a true F1 pilot, a fighter without fear. He was very exciting to watch and absolutely is not a forgettable champion, in my opinion.

When the Mclarens were 2 sec faster than everyone else in Melbourne 98, Jacques should've pushed to go there for 99. Then he should've pushed for a Renault drive 5 years later, that way he could've had at least 3 WDC by always being in the best cars / teams...

The thing I like about JV was that he was willing to drive on that knife edge, sometimes it worked (ie: out breaking and passing MS in '97 for he WDC) and sometimes it didn't (was cursed in Montreal lol). I would rather watch that sort of driving style than the snooze fest style of MS (who was mostly successful due to that Ferrari he was piloting, and say the likes of Irvine. Like him or not he was an exciting driver to watch on and off the track. On track a lot like his father.

he has the fearless talent of his father, but fortunately he has just enough capacities to control himself to no exceed the limits to the point of real danger for life.

He's maybe as good as his father.

Plus, outstanding mechanical guy, that helps to develop very well the car.

Hope he returns in F1 for 2-3 final years, so world could give him more respect :(

JV was and still is a real racer. Shame he's no longer in F1. Still think his win at The Indy 500 1995 was his finest achivement, along with that move he did on Schumacher at Estoril 1996. Fucking amazing!!
