  • Great video:)

  • I was so excited at the end I was praying for a meet and we got it! :D

  • Great video ! at 3:17 the bridge the train is running over is mountain creek, suprise creek bridge is between the wst. sdg. swt. griffith and stoney creek bridge.

In case any one is interested Suprise creek gets its name because its a suprise when you come upon the ravine eroded by the creek, also Griffith siding is named after a locomotive collapsed the bridge at suprise creek in 1929 and killed I think it was the engineer or the fireman.

  • You know your railroads!

My info says Griffith was named after a CPR division engineer and Deputy Minister of Railways. Both the engineer and fireman were killed in the wreck you mention. The fireman's last name was Griffith.

  • My source for this information ie CP Rail in the Rockies. It is a series of photos by famed cp photographer Nicholas Morant you might have heard of Morant's curve in Alberta along side the bow river just east ol Lake Louise.

  • Much thanks again, Love these videos!!

  • You are welcome! Thanks for your interest and comment.

  • The real Canadian route

  • I guess you could say that. The first anyway and perhaps the most scenic.

  • Is this on the Vancouver-Kamloops-Jasper Route or the Vancouver-Kamloops-Banff-Calgary route?

  • Vancouver-Kamloops-Banff-Calgary
