Other than motion tracking with Boujou, how can you adjust lighting and shadows to match those of the original video??

good question, I did a "lighting study" using different HDRI images, until I found one that gave the results I was looking for. I used Mental Ray's "image based lighting" and a single HDRI image. In the future, I would like to experiment with 2D re-lighting of 3D scenes, using the new Katana plugin for Nuke.

hey thanks. Well, if the video footage has a moving camera, the footage must be MATCHMOVED before you bring it into Maya, using a program such as 2D3 Boujou.
