Great Job. I agree with using LED to keep things safe. Remember also young kids will try to touch if you are at a reception or event and using for uplight.
if u paint a metalic like "crome" or silver, even using aluminum or other silver tape would relfect more light making them brighter. try doing that and compare the 2! Oh yeah do the next one with LED lights, cost more but no "burn"!
this is awesome! did you try something shiny/chrome color to cover the chloroplast cardboard stuff and help reflect the light upward more? if you try it, let me know if it helps.... I am definitely gonna try this.
Hm... interesting idea... might be a fire hazard tho? :/... if you wanted it to be really pro then you could cut the wires, solder, and then recover them... but if it isn't done right then it DEF will be a fire hazard... :P
Also, could you giv me the name of the last song you played?
between each light there is only 1/2 inch of extra cord and if you wanted to add white there would be no extra cord. As for the fire hazard, i tested it and after 20 min of all lights on it was hot but not as hot as a parcan so i am not worried. The only problem i am having is pushing the lights through the coroplast makes them much more possible to go out, not because of burning out but they can break. I will be making bigger holes and using better lights
@TechTasticDJs Oh that sounds cool... also, don't they sell LED lights like that? Im not sure how much they cost tho... it would be cool to try them side-by-side tho with real panels too to see how bright they are... I might try something like this, except to light up my table...
@MSDJALC Go for it its a really cool project the LED lights are somewhere beteen 8-12 bucks a set but you need to make sure that you have the regular diodes not wide angle or the teardrop stile becuase LEDs are directional and with the christmas lights they want to make the light spread so if you go led make sure you get the regular ones because with most uplighting they project up the wall and if you get the wide angle ones they will go to the side.
Here something I thought of Could I do the same thing by just using LED Lights, like I notice on the Mega Panel there is 288 10mm LED Lights. I thought about using 100 count 10mm LED Christmas Lights. I just wonder if the 10mm Christmas lights are the same kind of 10mm LEDS found in the Mega Panel, like if they would produce the same amount of light. They are really cheap to on ebay, so I thought about trying it
