Hey anyone like me who wants to be a pilot DON'T LET PEOPLE BRING YOU DOWN if you do then your just as dumb as the person telling you not to. DON"T give up on your dream -NATE52097
I think that is just a shame, that nowadays people do not realize anymore the opportunity to fly. It was our dream and we realized it years ago. We should cherish this big success, and value the job of a pilot. Because it is with passion and effort we pilots realize our big dream to fly.
people arent pilots for the money, and if they are they shouldnt be a pilot. Fast food restaurant managers in the states make more money then regional pilots. The reason you fly is because its your passion

@steveoh2395 yes, to add on to what Southerncowboyz said, lights on runways have different colors to show which way you are supposed to land. or on an airplane, there are different colored lights on each side to show which way the plane is going.
@steveoh2395 No worries. If you have trouble getting a medical from the FAA I would do some research on the material the AOPA offers, it may be able to help you. There are also many other career tracks in aviation other than being a pilot. Good luck!
@steveoh2395 - when I was driving a cab and working on my PPL I met a retired airline pilot who was color-blind. At least that's what he said. Makes sense, the only time you'd need perfect vision in regards to color is if you lost comm and had to resort to looking for the light gun from the folks in the tower.
@GingBread almost all the lighting system. Runway endig/treshold lights are red/green and some glide paths indicators also. Same as wingtip navigation lights. Anyway I dont know wat the real problem with seing two colors inverted is. I mean ok maybe someone calls what is green to him "red", but the other guy will hear "red" and associate with the red color so no damage done. I wonder what the real reason is.
unfortunately for you, yes it is important that airline pilots or even general aviation pilots are not colour blind because alot of things in this industry are based on colour
Most of the time you will never succeed in a job if you don't have any passion for it. If you love something you pay is least important thing to be worried about. I in the near future would like to become to pilot to experience what most people don't see in their lives. (quoting matt98stang here).
@SkyWestCRJPilot yea but im competing with my cousin on who will get richer first, like we already have big houses in kendall, florida but those are our parents houses, we want our own before 20 years flying!
@SkyWestCRJPilot dude, i have a question, is it 3,500 multi turbine engine hours to apply for a major airline like southwest or jetble? or 1,000 multi turbine engine hours...please responed!
a life i hope to get to in a minimum of 10 years, right now im 14 yrs old, and the only and the last job i will ever have is being an airline pilot, i will go to work everyday with my chin held up REALLY high knowing that my job is awesome and only a few men and women get to experience it!.......PS i want to fly for jetblue, or delta/NWA so i can get enough seniority to fly the beloved B777 thats my life long goal, to be able to fly that beast for a living.
Give it up NOW! Before it's too late! It is NOT worth it. Find a real job, that rewards you with real pay. Have a real dinner with your real family everynight, and go to bed in your real bed.
Don't be dumb enough to do this for what it takes to get there, there is no payoff.
I made that mistake, I'm trying to help you to not do the same.
@flyinbriyin It's still my goal. I know it sucks and the pay isn't great. But to me, it's better than sitting behind a desk and wonder what it might have been like. And I don't have to be a commercial pilot. I can be a pilot for something else. Either way. I want to fly and there is nothing that is going to keep me from doing so.
@leon6266 I dont know what u mean half a milion. I suppose thats in a year. 40.000 a month?
Shit = Unexperienced? Some of those airlines are looking for people w 1.500 hours in A-320 for SIC and im sure they pay real well. Im sure an american pilot flying domestic flights for 5 years has already what is required to go make some money overseas. Plus they are native english speakers. For us latins u need ICAO english rating and many dont have it. Americans on the other hand are native.
where do people actually have it, that planes constantly dump fuel?! It's only done in extremely rare cases, if there is no other option left and even that only above water. And another thing that so many believe, is that they dump their toilets inflight! Where do people get this from?! And why do so many believe it?
1- nobody in their right mind would fly those old 747's
2- It is enjoyable because once one is past security the flying experience becomes exponentially more enjoyable.
4- Its called a cockpit for a reason, cockpit, meaning no vaginas should be allowed.

@oogeer sight is a key thing in flying idk how far they will let be colorblind but i do know you have to have 20/20 vision with or with out glasses
while it makes money u have to have a real passion like me i want to be a commercial pilot so bad it hurts to know i have 2 years left of high school before aviation college but i'm getting my privates liecance now
and schooling does cost a lot more then most also a lot more studying
you will have time for flying with friends once you getthere
@matt98stang more or less. when you start the career, given you didn't come from the military and just got your CPL from say Arizona State Uni and work for Mesa cuz thats what your qualified for, its not that great. i have a co-worker who's brother is a pilot, he's been flying for about 25 years, now flying w/ AA but when he started, first 11 years were rough with regionals working 90 hour weeks and low pay
is it a bad life, by no means, but it should be better for their level of profesionalism
I was the guy that you replied your comment to (about joining the AOPA, EAA, etc.). I'm also an AOPA member. AOPA membership isn't free, but it's a non-profit organization. I think for two decades their membership dues have remained to be $39 per year, but you can get a 6 month trial for free (6 issues of their Flight Training magazine + all online membership access including the forums, flight planning, Project Pilot Mentor program, etc.). AOPA's also the largest GA pilot org in the world.
I am an AOPA member and was a CAP member for a while to get my glider rating. AOPA is $38/year when you join online, I believe. CAP is something like 80 a year
hi , im training to became a pilot i can now finally fly single probs . but my dream is to fly big heavy or even an fightjet . iam going threw RAF because its much much cheaper :) . after that i hope ill get in as a airline pilot:)
How did u start your career? and how old do u have to be to a a prop pilot? I'm 13 and ever since I was 7 im crazy about planes. Could ya tell me where we can train in dfw?
im only 16 lol i just went threw the air training corps aircadets and done my flyin scolership in gliders to :) u can joing aircadets when you 13 i think :) but i dont think the USA have it :(
Unfortunately, my parents won't let me do any of them. I ordered a CAP information form and when they saw that it came from an AFB, they just threw it out.
But of course they're letting my brother apply to West Point.
hey,im juzt 14 and i want to become a pilot when im older so...can u help me out with tat? like what do i need to do achieve my dream :D and whats RAF?
okay RAF is Royal Air Force . im in the united kingdon and what we have here is somthing called ATC ( air training coprs ) which is only £5 a month :) . and what contry u in . i dont think the USA have the Air training Corps
Btw air training corps if for people only 13 to 21 i think :)
I love flying the heavys but I love it when I get home to my young family. Ages 2 and 4. When gone for five and six days straight a few times a month, they look older when you get home. I don't even think about work when I get home. No regrets but it does turn into a job, a job I love.
Lots of great Delta video. Thanks for supporting my favorite airline...and my employer. I love being an international Detla pilot, although the golden days of aviation are gone.
@Mrlsbomb if u love both music and flying, you'll find a way to fit them into your life. :)

Dear All,
I have some questions about psychology:
(1) Why do we enjoy to hear the high pitch noise of jet engines?
(2) Why do we love commercial flying?
(3) Why do many of us want to be pilot?
(4) What is the reason behind that less females want to be pilot than males?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)
applesweeter 1 year ago
@applesweeter
1- Inside the plane it isnt a high pitch
2- Because we are already past security
3- Because desk jobs suck
4- Its called a cockpit for a reason
I love being a pilot and couldn't imagine doing anything else with my life.
"If it aint Boeing, I aint going!"

About question 1, the 747-100 & 747-200 has high pitch from its engines.
About question 2, why does its related to "passing security"?
About question 4, can you futher explain the meaning of "Its called a cockpit for a reason"?
Moreover, why do you prefer to fly only Boeing's aeroplanes?
applesweeter 1 year ago

1- nobody in their right mind would fly those old 747's

@Southerncowboyz Hey are you real commercial airliner pilot? I have some questions if you are since this might be a profession I have in mind doing.
1. I am slightly colourblind (done some tests but never asked any doctor of any kind)
2. Do you make much money? (I know money can't buy happiness, money IS HAPPINESS)
3. Does it cost much if you study for it, I've heard it does :S
4. Do you have time for family, friends etc or is it to much of a 'flying' job?
Thanks

@oogeer sight is a key thing in flying idk how far they will let be colorblind but i do know you have to have 20/20 vision with or with out glasses
while it makes money u have to have a real passion like me i want to be a commercial pilot so bad it hurts to know i have 2 years left of high school before aviation college but i'm getting my privates liecance now
and schooling does cost a lot more then most also a lot more studying
you will have time for flying with friends once you getthere

most pilots have a really good life, and get to experience things most people never get to.

not the regional pilots they barely get paid anything and they bareley get any sleep
busestudios 2 years ago
@busestudios Yeah in the US aviation really sux because of the amount of pilots and the the amount that will fly for nothing.

@matt98stang Yep. Fly!

Does anyone know if AOPA membership is free? Or Civil Air Patrol?
MoreThanBombs 2 years ago

CAP is something like 80 a year

the U.S. has a lot of resources for young, aspiring pilots. The AOPA is one resource, and the EAA Young Eagles is certainly another. :)

cool in the Uk we have somthing like ATC ( air training corps) :) ! and solo with single pistons!
allibowthepilot 2 years ago
Don't forget CAP.
Unfortunately, my parents won't let me do any of them. I ordered a CAP information form and when they saw that it came from an AFB, they just threw it out.
But of course they're letting my brother apply to West Point.
MoreThanBombs 2 years ago
Yes you're definitely right on that, I almost forgot. CAP does have a "cadet" program for those under 18.

At 3:11, that's a plane dumping fuel, right?
I always thought it was a space shuttle....
