Since this took place at Dunsfold, I was have expecting the Stig from Top Gear to go driving by in a supercar at a high rate of speed kicking up a rooster tail of water onto the thing. That was... weird. Almost in a Monty Python kind of way (the video needs some silent film music to compliment it).

Great artwork, but pilot is lucky it didn't "fly." The weather, wind, and lack of flight controls were a recipe for disaster...not to mention the wings would have folded up straightaway. The whole thing was set up to be a gag, and clearly the plane was never intended to actually fly.

Silly is an understatement. This must be a performance art piece, because it sure isn't an airplane. The propeller is a high speed, low-pitch prop from a motorized aircraft, rather than the high-pitch, low speed, much larger prop of a rubber-powered aircraft. The plane itself has got to be a gag. The wings have no airfoil, the landing gear is ridiculous and the plane is barely large enough to carry a small child. Perhaps the pilot would volunteer a younger member of his family as pilot?

Oh, Brother!! The wing is 1/8 the total area it should be. The wingspan should be about 40 ft. with a chord of 4-5 ft. The wing lacks sufficient dihedral, and thus would be unstable as hell. The wing also lacks the proper aerodynamic shape. The propellor has to be much wider and about 10 ft. in diameter. The amount of rubber required would be dangerous once wound tight. It would be suicide to make a serious attempt, especially if the propellor was reverse pitched, like in this case. LOL!!
