  • This is so cool

  • hey ken is that a voice processor or voice harmonizer or both? that's on top the 4-track carts? and if it is can you tell the name and model of it? many thanks

  • @bentleyontheair The unit is a ART Multiverb II, it's an effects processor with all the mentioned effects, unfortuanately its died awhile ago and hasn't been replaced.

  • (7:20) actually the engineer who trained me on our old Gates board said there's plenty of headroom, just ram it past the red and get some extra compression. So I've always run that way.

    Nice studio, carry on :-)

  • @notvalidcharacters THE RED AREA OF THE METER MEANS BUSINESS! That is the level at which the proceeding proceeding equipment will operate at its optimum level when set up properly. I've been a radio engineer for over 30 years, and nobody has ever said, "push it into the red to get more compression"

  • @p1r4t3z Whatever dude but my engineer did, and that's how I've run ever since. The boards I've run have had plenty of headroom. And I've been a recording engineer for at least 30 years so don't worry, I know what clipping is and what isn't. Chill out, jeezis.

  • fcc scum

  • I wanna know the price of the big console and the name

  • @KDWproductions It is a Pacific Recorders and Engineering(P,R,&E) BMXII console. New it was about $20,000

  • where did you get the console?

  • Great studio only music no comurcials no shit but its pirate radio do you not be trapt

  • We should have more stations like this no commercials no morning shows no repeats no bullshit just music and those short talks to tell you the song name

  • I love Armin Van Buuren

  • pretty cool its a shame you had to shut down are you up and runnung again would like to listin thru the computer if i can have the call letters.

  • @musicman257 Yes! you can still listen to the program on line. It has never stopped, No FCC agent will ever be able to keep me off the air! The program is on saturday nights at midnight US CDT, listen live with the web address noted on the YouTube p14r3z main channel page

  • @p1r4t3z Yeah Why Don't You Use Am? Most People Use Fm And I Bet You Can Find More Available Frequency's On That.

  • You should use ICQ so i can add you :)

  • enjoyed the tour... ..thanks..

  • how many watts do you broadcast at?

  • @shortwavesam HA! That's the world's biggest secret.......

  • @p1r4t3z lol ;-)

  • @p1r4t3z does modern rock 94.5 still exists?????????????

  • @ShaqFlims unfortunately after "the letter" we shut it down and moved elsewhere

  • Comment removed

  • @p1r4t3z I'd say bout 50 watts ERP

  • It's a Blast from the past!! I haven't seen a setup like that in 20 years. I 've used it but it has been awhile! I've been spoiled with my mouse! Great video!

  • I'm doing research for a powerpoint I have to do on Amateur radio and I came across your videos. Very entertaining I must say...that's a cool setup you got there. I'm still curious though...isn't pirate radio illegal?

  • @ljstalkr Yes technically if you are a pirate, in this country it is illegal. The FCC limits you to 250uv/m at 3 meters for an unlicensed transmitter. As in a later video we had to shut our 94.5 transmitter down when the FCC complained about it.

  • @p1r4t3z Put the radio up again! Please, because don't let those deside your dreams!! Try to hide the signal... T

  • @p1r4t3z Put the radio up again! Please, because don't let those deside your dreams!! Try to hide the signal...

  • Why would you choose FM for that? Go AM or sideband. LOL 7415! With low power and a single bay antenna (your vertical dipole is what I'm guessing, as it's the only omni I saw), your audience is a bit small. Very small.

  • @BeeRich33 Have you checked 7415 lately? Do the calls WBCQ ring a bell?

  • @p1r4t3z No sir. My point is ... well you know why. This video standing alone, I have to say just that. I'm working at getting back on the air, SWL and ham. 73.

  • Ofcom suck balls!! i am glad the Tories are gonna get rid of them, they raided my pirate radio station & fined me & took me to court.. now they are without a job JUSTICE!!

  • Great stuff !

  • Nice! At first I thought you were some scumbag but I stand corrected lol.

  • He enjoy it??? What a asshole!!!

  • Im jealous all that nice equipment :) i love pirate radio its the only radio worth listing to, this guy is a pro!! this video is awesome.

  • I am familiar with these instructions as I have worked a radio station like this.

I enjoyed playing what I wanted and said what I wanted...

  • Is he wearing a snuggie? 6:00

  • I think I saw a Shakespeare Big stick?

  • I love it. I now build repeaters for the local pirates. They are tried and true. Take care.

  • I think i have to apologize, i thought you were an asshole but you turned out to be really freaking awesome. I bow down to you sir! Really surprised me there.

  • what power transmitter do u use?

  • with the first vid I thought you were a douche clouding the minds of free america. I am glad I watched further, you are a master douche for being soo freak'n hitchcock! AWESOME!

  • lmao .."DOWN HERE WE GOT KIND OF A RACK OF EQUIPMENT THAT WE USE WHEN WERE DOIN PEOPLE LIVE".......lmao ....rape!!!!!

  • 4:20 Nice rack!

  • Sweet. I thought you were some party crashing NARC. Nice Job learn alot.

  • Why don't you guys go legit? I really like this stuff, but face it, others of us want to broadcast also. We also want to drive our cars down the other side of the road and sell beer at high school football games. We might want to start up a hospital and sell cheap operations. We have regulations so people can do this stuff. You're free to do it, but you have to respect that the rest of us have that same right. Hope to hear you someday.

  • haha wicked suspense! nice setup man... im thinking about getting a fm25b, and a tm100. any good? keep it on the DL!

  • Do you. broadcast this radio online as well. if not you should

  • You have nearly the exact equipment we have at our radio station (KEMC public radio in Billings, MT). Your board is the same brand, but seems just slightly older. The record players are the exact same thing we have. Anyhow, may your radio station live long and prosper.

  • @FcBow Ccan you tell me a little bit more about the console? What brand / model is it?

  • well it didn't show any skill with direction finding considering you already knew the address! your voice is also on the jingles, what a loser you are with your 100mW TX. In the UK we use 150-300Watts and microwave links.

  • mate your so bait

  • Too cool. I wish I could hear pirate radio here in Seattle.

  • WOW

  • amazing setup you got there

i want to do this one day....

  • its a 950mhz STL dish for transmit when KVMI used our studios a few years ago, it also is unused now.

  • You had me fooled by the first video. I thought you might have been an amateur radio operator in search of a pirate station

  • Cool video dude. Big respect from the UK.

I love the set up. How cool can you get? I bet the buzz is awesome. Just bought me a 7 watt PLL FM Transmitter and cant wait to fire her up. Ofcom is our FCC in UK and the don't like any sorce of pirate radio. And they sting hard with a 5 year prison sentence. How long have you guys been burning the airwaves? And how comes you never been caught with that massive antenna? lol I love it lol

  • why don't you get an fcc license? is it that hard to get?

  • just applying for the fcc license includes a fee that costs over 2000 dollars.

thats more than many people pay to get their pirate radio station set up.

  • It is extremely expensive

  • tnx dude

  • Awesome! my respects to you! I'm in school, and I'm trying to get into broadcasting..I'm hoping to build my own radio station. I just recently learned how to make a fm transmitter..long road ahead.

  • I had a pirate fm station some years back. It was a pretty simple set up, Broadcastwarehouse exciter, fm modulator / encoder and a 300w amp going to a Comet groundplane antenna. Range was about 5 miles. No idea if any one was listening but it was fun! The hard part for me was coming up with good fresh programming.

A good FM pirate can be a source for neighborhood news and events. Best of Luck!

  • AlamoCityCello: You had a 300w amp with a Comet groundplane and only got 5 Miles?

Ive got a 15w Amp with a simple 1/4 wave groundplane and Im doing 3 to 4 miles easily.

  • One more thing p1r4t3z, Great taste in Music Man! You Played Talk Talk, And I Heard Praga Khan's - Breakfast in Vegas, I thought I was listening to my station there for a minute.

    GOOD JOB MAN!

    OH One more thing

    WOOF! :o)

  • Awesome!! your such a professional :)

  • You're a professional pirate!

    Respect from Hungary

  • ha ha your hunting you self i found that really funny

  • wow that was cool nice one old man n nice work make a great dj.

  • That was very informative, nice work :)

  • badass.

  • so let me get this straight...you make it seem like you're hunting this place down, and in this video we find out you fucking knew it was here the whole time? what a jip...i feel cheated

  • 1k watts transmitter

    4 dipole antennas

    2 pioneer cd turntables/mixer

and lap top with exertnal hardrives

is all i use to broadcast but i wont never show it on youtube lol

  • @HEAVYWEIGHTFILMS theres a college radio station inmy local area that only puts out 1100 wats and they sound damn good asloog as who ever is incharge of things dont turn the volume down then its like u gotta crank ur radios volume to be able to hear what they are saying or at times playing at times when they are talking the voices are louder that the music then other times it the other way around

  • Great setup

  • The left is a tv antenna

  • good song at end

  • Atleast use a microwave link man, risking all that equiptment. Not much power but I agree it is a big station. I have a feeling this is on a community license for some reason...

  • No it's not on a community license, If they are only broadcasting from saturday night until sunday morning, then it is most likely a pirate station. If They had a community license they could broadcast when ever they wanted to, safely.

  • Right, and they'd have to be a non-profit organization as well as broadcast at 100Watts to get a license, the fcc dosn't license 5/10Watt stations which are the most of the pirate stations

  • great show. im a commerical engineer for cumulis broadcast. and I think it's great keep going.

  • BADASS!!!

  • Dude this is awesome, hope you don't get arrested or anything though. :-)

    - KillerMusic

  • The first video in this series was supposed to be an attention getter, and I guess it did just that, but the way it came off was kinda negative I guess. I really wanted to tell everyone about our little station without giving it away completely, but with alittle research it might be easier than I thought.

  • You did just that. I stumbled upon your hunting pirate radio Number 1 after searching for some Spark Gap Transmitter videos and you, well, sparked an interest. I nearly shit bricks when you said that was YOUR studio.

While I am a licensed radio operator I can't condone illegal radio broadcast, but will say its a cool setup. I was surprised you didn't go into any details about the transmitter you're using? Can you even safely post that info?

  • I doubt it but then again I don't think the FCC checks youtube for announced pirates. lol although they would find'em

  • @p1r4t3z Briliant!! i love pirate radio you are such a pro.

  • @p1r4t3z eh, don't be too sure about that, my high-school (class of 2010) has 3 dishes, turns out they use those for their internet, company called ESU 10 uses a sat uplink to distribute the service.

  • Dude,I was about to fling you $hit for the first video..I thought you were some wanna-be FCC agent or something.

Not very smart to give yourself away, but Mucho Love from the pirate community!

    Just be careful. ;-)

  • If its a pirate station why are you basically saying to everyone look this is where we are come get us??

  • haaa lol, sorry man ^^

    good job!

  • hahaha you got me there !

Thought you were doing a pirate razzia.

Stay out of the goverments hands!

  • man, you got a mad setup!

good luck staying under the pig radar!

itd b a tragedy if they were to seize your gear. peace!

  • omg your in on it hope you get busted you knew where it was so why even try to find it its not fun if you know where the fox is like i said hope you get busted

  • Grow Up and live life the real way!

In 6 years there will be none liscense commercial radio that will blow your mind.

The FCC will soon allow LPB commercial radio at a very minamal cost.

They are also advocating new laws that will protect them from lawsuits that the big corp will try to impose on them.

  • wow really that would be pretty great cause then anybody could start a station, which is what im wanting to do
