ok so the thing wont run 13s and hit 60 in 5 seconds, its a station wagon for 1, its purpose isnt beating everyone in races. and its damn good looking, imo better looking than any other station wagon out there. gm did a wonderful job turning it from sedan to wagon
can yall stop bitching about the performance and the quarter mile time please its not like your going to go out and race a cadillac station wagon around like its a corvette zr1... its a good car. if this isntgood enough for you then go check out the ctsv wagon...im sure that will be good enough
@jsnevels2 I bet you're right. I also bet that won't help you what so ever when the 17 year old down the street whips you getting on the interstate in his mom's Venza or at a light where it will sting the most!
@KnoxKnowsBest true! Acceleration over topspeed anyday. But the venza is one badass suv. But oh I have a 2007 maxima that goes 0-60 in 6.3sec bye-bye venza.
im so sad to see cadillac going down hill like this.. the class they compete in has some very stiff competition! the product gm is producing just doesnt match up. everything about the car just feels like its been touched by cost cutting. i havent had the chance to really throw one around on a track but from what i see from other reviewers these cars just dont handle like any kind of quality sports car like they claim it is.
pay a little more, get an import that will preform and will LAST!
"acdcgreat" Are you retard because you clearly don't understand how to read. I clearly stated it was Chevy, but I see the car more as of an European cars because its not like other American cars dumbass.
"thuglife4ever721" The ZR1 one don't suck. Its the only car that I respect that is American.
Actually on another hand even its American car I don't see it has one. It don't handle like one, it don't perform like one, and it actually get good times on a track with turns.
I see the ZR1 as more off an American car with a hint of Euro DNA. In a post I read on forums, the brakes that the ZR1 use are from Ferrari.
the ZR1's breaks are from Brembo, who also supplies similar setups to Ferrari. That however doesn't give the ZR1 anymore "Euro DNA" than Ferrari using Delphi's magneto-rheological shocks gives the 599 American DNA.
I kind of agree with you and slightly dont. Not ALL american cars suck. Yes the ford sucks. I absolutely hate it with a passion. BUT the CTS-V is pretty nice you get every bang of the buck and its not even that expensive. The Chevy ZR1 sucks? I think not it holds the record at the Nurburgring. Infact JDM cars are more boring to drive theyre quality is getting lower and lower and VERY boring. On the other hand Euro's and Germans FTW.
It can be the drivers, but it may also be the factors of the car. Tire pressure, air pressure, and fuel load. I think they fill up the tank, and that added weight is what slows the car DRAMATICALLY!
I think Cadillac is proving to be GM's most valuable brand. They're keeping the spirit of the traditional and innovative GM engineering alive by building some fantastic cars. I'm impressed with the CTS line-up.
All these cars I listed holds a simple N/A Inline4 engine, and it can pull better #s than this POS Cadillac.
And this Cadillac has a V6 304HP, with 273 lb-ft torque, and it can't get better #s than Inline4s made in Japan. This just shows how much American car sucks.
Yeah, you're dumb. You're comparing 1 sports car, 1 sports sedan, and 2 sports coupes to a midsize wagon.
Nice. Not really. You fail at the game of life.
If you want to compare, 3 of those cars (a.k.a. the ones you can't even compare) get better numbers. The Acura TSX can MAYBE compare to the CTS, but it's still a sedan. Plus, the TSX is still slower by a slight margin. You wanted to play that game, so you still lose.
Try again with something relevant. Otherwise, that comparison sucked. Fail.
.... OH dear... you have to do many more alculations to know which car is "faster," did you take into account: tires, weight to horse power ratios, torque, aerodynamics, fwd or awd, etc? Those cars are only faster because they're much lighter... I'm not even a station wagon fan I just had to point out that you didn't have an argument with the facts you've shown. I used the word "faster" in a context that might be confusing what I mean is that, w/e car has a better power to weight ratio is faster
Ok dumbass.. The day that an Audi or BMW sedan that is equal to thw Cadillac CTS-V, then come and talk shit.
As I recall, the only sports sedan that beat the CTS-V(auto-shift) was the Porsche Panamera(correct me if I'm wrong).
The Cadillac CTS-V held the record for the longest of any muscle out of detroit has EVER! The Cadillac that won the title was an automatic, and the driver said that he had no doubts in his mind that he could have shaved off at least another 15 seconds if he (cont'd)
..if he could have used the manual, but the day of the actual time trial, he had been preparing for the automatic, and had no time to re-adjust himself to the characteristics of a 6-speed manual.
Thus proving my point, Cadillac has it going on!! They have a DAMN good lineup, and I would say that they are shaping up to to be some of the best in the business.
For all the haters-- keep hating, you're the ones who inspire Cadillac to do better.

"mak450" I'm well aware they are Brembo, but what I meant is the set up.
Also I didn't know about the 599 GTB.
But in my personal opinion I think the ZR1 is more of an European car than American.
Cause everyone think American cars can't take corners, and this one(ZR1) can.
NigguhJason 2 years ago
What do you mean set up? It's just a set of calipers, pads, and rotors all of which is brembo. Ferrari is just a customer, the same as GM.
This ain't 1985 guy, there are plenty of American cars that can handle well.

"tbonedrumcam" You wanna argue lets go idiot.
First off the 6 speed Acura TSX (CL9) can pull 0-60 in 7 seconds, and a quarter in the high 14s, which is better than this car.
Second. Clearly I can compare the cars, because this car like I stated has a V6 w/ 304HP, and its label as sport. So why can't I?
Stop defending the POS car. You stupid redneck. Gtfo. For you fail to understand shit.
Why can't you understand my point was that Inline4s from Japan is better than American V6s? Idiot.
