Thank you ever so much for your wonderfully professionally done videos. I'm a first year medical student, and you have helped me so much in such a short time. Thank you for all you do, and thank you to the anatomical donors.
@jjlinert I am also a vegetarian. It should be noted; human flesh and swine flesh are almost perfectly similar. The only major difference being the actual shape of the muscles.
Beef doesn't look like that; it's more of a brown/ grey colour, and is quite tightly packed.
Pork does look this. So does human flesh. Go figure.
Just to point out, the lobes and fissures are highly variable. So, to differentiate between left and right lung, it is not very prudent to depend on the lobes and fissures. A more accurate approach would be 1) Anterior margin is sharp and thin 2) The posterior margin is blunt. This, along with knowlege of apex and base can help identify whether it is right or left lung.
@ShopiStar Well.. I think that's because humans donate their dead bodies to science. Animals first are killed then are disected, without any contract signed.
@BradySayre Hilus and hilum are the same thing, some anatomy experts prefer calling it "hilus", some "hilum", it's the same..in latin it says: hilus s. hilum pulmonis - with that "s" being an abbreviation for "or" in latin.
These bodies are Cadavers that have been graciously donated in the name of science and to help medical students advance their understanding of the human anatomy.

I find it funny how no one says anything when dissecting a human body, but when they dissect an animal they all go "OMG ANIMAL ABUSE!!!"
