In addition to "The Party", this also reminds me of the opening scene of "The April Fools" in which Jack Lemmon is out of place at a swingin' '60s party where he doesn't know anyone. But it's OK because he soon gets to leave with Catherine Deneuve, who happens to be the hostess who's giving the party with her hubby Peter Lawford.
This Scopitone video was released in 1966 and directed By Robert Altman. The Party was released in 1968, and was understood to be recycling (already oudated) 60s cliches. Its very funny though!
People (especially people younger than in their 40's or late 30's that were born sometime in the 1960's & had heard of Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass not too much longer after the 1960's when they were popular) forget how hip Herb Alpert was considered in the 1960's (& kind of ahead of his time in the influence on many music & vids. afterwards). I'm surprised that Herb Alpert hasn't gotten a Kennedy Center Honors. If anyone deserves one it's, Alpert!
too cool!

This is my favorite Herb Alpert TJB song. Great video as well-smoking hot Sixties girls. My wife and I are going to see him in January in Seattle.

Sort of a poor man's version of Peter Seller's "The Party", although the music's great

Amazing, Weird. Funny. Three words I'd never associate with anything with a Herb Alpert soundtrack.
