Kbake1971 yes it should work but you must bridge the two data pins ( the 2 middle pins on the USB connector) just use a glob of solder or something. It won't work if you don't do this. Also make sure the chargers ratings are not 2 high. You want 5v and between 0.5A and1A.

Not really... I mean most people will have a wall adapter laying around somewhere and the usb extension isnt require. You could simply do the same to your ipod's usb end but then it can't connect to your pc. Me, I have like 20 spare wall adapters and 20 usb extensions and 20 ipod chargers and 2 soldering irons... and electrical tape.
