in 50 years, thes idiots will die out and the more educated nintendo generation will become the elders. much like the debate for rock and roll, dungeons and dragons, and cinema, we will be able to look back and laugh at it. the qustion we should ask ourselves is i wonder what will the nintendo generation people will complain about in the future lol
ok so they said teens should not play M rated gamea cuz of the increased blood, sex and overall violence. Bout the sex... Almost all teen watch porn so a little in video game wont make a difference. Bout the blood. Almost every one has had a pretty bad gash in thier childhood and 3 guesses what you saw??? Thath righ blood. And bout the violence?
Ever watched a james bond movie or a transformers movie??
Please don't make a difference. The silver bullet theory, is not true. Myself and my friends have all played violent video games since a young age. Myself and friends have never had a physical confrontation in my life. When I was a child I was allowed to watch M movies with my Dad prior to the age limit on them. But it was ok, so long as I understood it was just a movie, I don't think it ever caused me any harm. A bit of Die Hard or Rambo didn't hurt me.
Yeah, because a rated-M game with 'Blood and Gore', 'Intense Violence', 'Sexual Content', 'Strong Language', and 'Use of Drugs' all clearly labled on the back of the case are so misleading, and it is, of course, totally not the parents fault for not noticing that, especially when 90% of the time that when someone is buying a rated-M game for their kid that the cashier asks "Are you aware of the games rating of Mature 17+?" It's obviously the gaming industries fault. Idiot politicians.
Joe Baca your an old fucking raisin who is completely obvious to all kinds of entertainment media's content. You stated that the ESRB content labeled on the video games are inaccurate and confusing?... How is Blood and Gore confusing? Thats pretty fucking clear and should not lead to any confusion. The people who don't understand what that means should seriously consider on going back to 1st grade and relearn the terminology. The rating 'M' represents mature not everyone.
Idiots. M-rated games are not misleading. They are the same as R-rated movies. AO games have mostly been actual porn games. San Andreas became AO only because it was hacked and people bitched about terrible looking, pixelated nude women getting fucked by a fully clothed man. The parents are at fault. It's their fault only. Not the ESRB or developers. If you can't control your kids it's your fault. Who gives a fuck if you hurt digital people! They're fake! "Virtual carnage." Not actual carnage.
500 years ago people were slaughtered and killed all the time, and no one batted an eye. In the late thirties and early forties Hitler and the Nazis killed over 6 million people. Were violent games available back then? No. In civilized countries like those in North America, Europe, and Eastern Asia where videogames are readily available, there is much less violent crimes than in 3rd world countries where entertainment comes from playing Ball-In-A-Cup.
Looks to me like they threw something together, and that this whole thing is based on ignorance. He has basically stated that all games are the same, regardless of rating, which is a complete lie. He seems to be under the illusion that kids, and all gamers alike cannot distinguish between the game and the real world. I do not believe that there is anyone who honestly has a hard time distinguishing between games and real life. The good thing is that this bill won't even see the light of day...
im not trying to sound like an asshole but i played alot of violet video games as a kid, hell i still do when i have the freetime for it...but those skills i learned from those games I use everyday at my job...
Yes they have inaccurate info the system. The games are being overrated and they only live the game because they hate the world they are in. So we should take the kids away from the parents if they live the game because they are not happy. You don't understand how we think. Games can help us learn many useful skills not taught in school. It helps learn problem solving skills schools don't teach.
I think they should just prevent retailers to sell those games to kids. There is no law for that and people dont want the "government" to interfere. What would be different if the government passed such a law? Those games could still be made. I dont see a problem. Its also not censorship.
a T rated game has the same or more violence than a M rated game? um you kill a enemy in a t rated game the enemy disappears, happens alot more slowly in a m rated game.
you noticed people just passed by, nobody takes them serioulsy and then he says, parents are mislead by the videogame rating? how the fuck is that possible? if the game says sex, violence, drugs, and harsh language is BECAUSE the fucking game has sex, violence, drugs, and harsh language, jesus these fucking politicians are fucking stupid
Must be stone dumb parents to not understand what it means when the rating says "sex, violence, and language". A person with common sense will not buy/rent that game for a child, period.
now now people, think about it like this, IT WOULD be a very confusing system to people who cant read!
no, but seriously, its the same damn thing as the movie system, G=all PG=kids 10 and up PG13= kids 13 and up R=17 and up X=18 and up... E=all E10+=kids 10 and up T=13 and up M=17 and up AO=18 and up...hmmmm
only a third of gamers are under the age of 21 any way. Stupid people trying to get votes need to relise their pissing off alot of voters when they make statments like this.
Whats the f#@king diff between 17yo's and 18yo's, how many parents still try and censor theyre 17 year old child in this day and age. No understanding of the younger generation of today. What an old codger. Still living in the 60's i think....
Children are still getting access to these games. Well... whose fault is that!? The store selling it to them and the parents. Jesus, parents! Parent your damn kids, they're going to F it up for the rest of us.
