@9pt9 Bankrupt? Dogs are more than 99% genetically identical to wolves if you compare their mitochondrial DNA. But wolves and coyotes are more than 6% different when comparing mitochondrial DNA. (Keep in mind mitochondrial DNA mutates relatively quickly through the generations compared to nuclear DNA.) It is also worth noting that dogs can interbreed with wolves, but not with African Wild Dogs or foxes. Coyote-dogs have decreased fertility over generations, but wolf-dogs do not.
question how the heck did we get dogs from wolves im sorry i have a french mastiff no way a wolf came from that and what about the wild dogs of africa no one ever domesticated them yet they are wild dogs and not wolves whats to say wolves arent just a type of animals of the dog family

More conjectured poppycock. I love when the scientist said "given the archeological findings it looks like it happened in an evolutionary flash!"
Or more simply there's no evidence dogs evolved from wolves. Such a bankrupt theory!

@truthseeker215 It's called evolution, they teach it in biology classes at almost every college or university. You should look into it.

There's no better network than PBS. I just can't get programming like this where I live in Indonesia.
Amazing.
