  • someone needs to do a bass tab for this

  • this is amazing.

however, i think you need to up the ante and play some King Crimson tunes like this.

  • What is that keyboard?!?! I want one :D

  • @YohanBone its a custom clavinet

  • As soon as we invent a way for a human to get two extra, working arms grafted on, I vote this guy to be the first.

  • Discovered Crash Kings after they stumbled into my Pandora Radio station & I've been addicted ever since. Some may call it sheer happenstance, I call it destiny!

  • anyone know what the song was at the end??

  • @PinkP10 The End by The Beatles. One of my favorite songs of all time!

  • best stuff i've seen in a long time!!! this is just f*cking awesome!

  • 3:25 nice... the beatles

  • This is the sickest! I can't wait for the new album!

  • This was absolutely amazing! Epic win!!!

  • Please do more of these! They are so fun to watch!

  • I'm so desperate to know what effects the bassist used, I'm just starting to explore effects and can't afford to waste time or money...

  • VERY COOL SOUNDS GREAT!!!!

  • what's the song at 1:40, excuse my ignorance

  • @sirgerry moby dick - Led Zeppelin

  • @ihpu22 Thank you, not a big Zep fan, all I knew about Moby Dick is it has a 20 minute drum solo so I hardly ever listen to it, I shall expand my musical horizons, Peace

  • excellent!!!!! wow!! May I ask if you need to link a pc to the keyboard or are the guitar sounds 'inside' the keyboard ? (it looks like a clavinet ?)

many thanks and keep sharing your talent with us

  • awesome.

  • more cowbell

  • what programme was used to emulate guitar please?, thanks this is impressive

  • This is fantastic! I used to have one of those Clavs with the Castle Bar mod. NEVER should have sold it. I used to run it through a Vox AC30. I still have a Clav but no Castle Bar and no bending or vibrato. This video makes me want one again. REALLY well done. Double tracked though in some spots I take it. What a medley this is.

  • Well, I guess there is still room for virtuosity in rock and roll! A group that can really play, write good tunes, and sing. Man, it's been a drouth. Staggering talent boys and well executed. I hope you balance the grueling demands of the biz and have long productive careers. I've been waiting for a long time for you guys to show up.

  • Working on a new album? YES!

I was wondering, what kind of tom heads does you you use?

They sound great, and I've been needing some new heads.

  • Working on a new album? YES!

  • sounds sick guys! what drum kit was used in the recording? slingerland by any chance? it's ridiculous

  • I dislike this out of principle.

  • JESSSSUUUUSSS! What a group of musicians.....

    Crash Kings Forevvvaaahhhhhh! Woot.

  • Best eargasm in awhile =)

  • @popedhop

AC/DC - You Shhok Me All Night Long

    Queen - Somebody to Love

    Led Zeppelin - Moby Dick

    Jimi Hendrix - Crosstown Traffic

    The Beatles - Abey Road

  • @whytodothis The beatles - The End/her majesty

  • Amazing!

  • That was wild!

    Loved it, very creative!

  • in crosstown traffic, what kind if pedal the bassist use?

  • Can someone please give me a list of the songs played here? much appreciated

  • You had me at Crosstown. Wow.

  • I love how a bass can make most any sound with an amp with effects. :)

  • Wow, The Crash Kings are incredible. I love this band. An amazing sound with just a bass, drums & clavinet/keyboards. This is not a gimmick. These guys are super talented. Snippets of AC/DC, Queen, Led Zep, Jimmy, Beatles, etc. Tats, barefoot drummer and 3 open fifths on the keyboard. This is a rock band. None of this P.C. crap!

  • You guys rock hardcore!

  • I so wanna see a "Evolution of Guitar - With No Guitar III" !!!!!

  • @carnageoz07

Fuck that! I wanna see these guys play live!

  • I am impressed... very nice and different, a nice change from the same old , same old...

  • A esto le llamo yo La Evolucion de un instrumento! Pillalo q vale la pena!

  • thats some gnarly keyboard tone.

  • I have goosebumps.

  • How did you customize the clavinet?

  • what kind of effect does mike use on the solo?

  • found this video posted on the "no treble" facebook feed. my jaw's hanging slack, fellas. first of all, i've always admired trios -- there's just no place to hide when it's just three of you. more to the point though, to cover the likes of ac/dc, hendrix, zeppelin (etc.) with precisely zero guitar, and to do it so very well, is a highly ballsy proposition. this is some super intelligent, creative, and impressive stuff. very best regards and applause from oakland, ca -d

  • WOW Im floored , as a musician myself....I am truly impressed gents..KUDOS!!!!

  • What's the music from 1:20 to 1:40 ? it's fuckin' amazing guys

  • @soulfulwaves Somebody to love with queen :D

  • You guys are such beasts. @crashkingsmusic any approximate idea when your next albums comming out?

  • Love it!

  • Thank you to the end of time for being awesome. God I was waiting for you guys to tear some Queen up! And Zep! Fantastic.

  • Mike's bass solo on Crosstown is so friggen sick!

  • The End by The Beatles: One of my favorite songs of all time. The Crash Kings did a pretty faithful rendition. A+.

  • Isn't a bass guitar a type of guitar?

  • oh and godisclosedj5 - J uses a Paiste 2002 15" top and Giant Beat 15" bottom.

  • @CrashKingsMusic Mixing it up! Very nice! Kit sounds great as always!

  • Thanks for all the comments guys! Yes, johnpeth the name of the video is not to be taken literally (this isn't a musical exploration of rock'n roll history in chronological order - although that could be cool too). We just love these songs and know you guys do to so we put this medley together sans guitar. Thanks for the support!

    - M

  • @CrashKingsMusic Hey r u guys gonna come out with a new album soon? Ur last one seemed promising

  • 2002 hats? Or Giant Beats?

  • Oh, and is it just me, or is 3:00 Mike ripping a Hendrix solo... on the bass?!?!?!

    Un-frikin-believeable.

  • Sorry but don't understand how this is evolution of the guitar?? Great tunes expertly played though!

  • @johnpheth I don't think it's intended literally, though the Clavinet he plays resembles a guitar much more than a keyboard because of how the strings are played internally when the keys are pressed. Basically, the two Evolution of Guitar videos they've done were prompted by Rolling Stone's list of 100 Greatest Guitar Songs of All Time - they wanted show their take on 'em, and I think that's got a lot to do with the name as well.

  • Yinz guys totally rule.

  • I think Ringo would be pissed that Jason pulled off the drum solo better.

  • That was evol.

  • Love you Love You Love You Love You ...whoa.

  • Blown. Away. AGAIN. Looove you!

  • Good god, I could listen to this, on repeat, for just about ever.

  • Ahh, awesome vid!

Really can't wait for new music from these guys. A new album is easily in the top 3 most wanted things in 2011 for me. Musically that is.

No wait, screw musically only, definately top 3 wanted things in 2011 overall.

  • Absolutely stunning and kick ass! I can't wait for the new album ;D

  • this is ridiculous i fing love it . great live band ! keep it coming .

  • like the melody at 2:10 :) really amazing

  • this is ridiculous i fing love it . great live band ! keep it coming

  • @angeliniNick Mostly a Clavinet D6, I think!

  • Hi. That was the shit. I don't know what else to say. I really can't wait for your next album because the first one blew me away. I played it on repeat for days and knew all the words in about a week. Keep up the great work!

  • Oh yeah!!! You should do more of these. heh. Looking forward to chasing you around the country again. Miss you tons!

  • Don't you just hate how there are bands out there with talent still?
