Discovered Crash Kings after they stumbled into my Pandora Radio station & I've been addicted ever since. Some may call it sheer happenstance, I call it destiny!
@ihpu22 Thank you, not a big Zep fan, all I knew about Moby Dick is it has a 20 minute drum solo so I hardly ever listen to it, I shall expand my musical horizons, Peace
This is fantastic! I used to have one of those Clavs with the Castle Bar mod. NEVER should have sold it. I used to run it through a Vox AC30. I still have a Clav but no Castle Bar and no bending or vibrato. This video makes me want one again. REALLY well done. Double tracked though in some spots I take it. What a medley this is.
Well, I guess there is still room for virtuosity in rock and roll! A group that can really play, write good tunes, and sing. Man, it's been a drouth. Staggering talent boys and well executed. I hope you balance the grueling demands of the biz and have long productive careers. I've been waiting for a long time for you guys to show up.
I thought that EOG I was jaw dropping. Thanks for induldging us fans with a Part 2. I think that the rock GODS may be a little jealous of this one!!!!
Wow, The Crash Kings are incredible. I love this band. An amazing sound with just a bass, drums & clavinet/keyboards. This is not a gimmick. These guys are super talented. Snippets of AC/DC, Queen, Led Zep, Jimmy, Beatles, etc. Tats, barefoot drummer and 3 open fifths on the keyboard. This is a rock band. None of this P.C. crap!
found this video posted on the "no treble" facebook feed. my jaw's hanging slack, fellas. first of all, i've always admired trios -- there's just no place to hide when it's just three of you. more to the point though, to cover the likes of ac/dc, hendrix, zeppelin (etc.) with precisely zero guitar, and to do it so very well, is a highly ballsy proposition. this is some super intelligent, creative, and impressive stuff. very best regards and applause from oakland, ca -d
Could anyone be kind enough as to share the song titles/artists? I know about half. Recognize all of them but can't recall the titles ><. Songs are so awesome.
Thanks for all the comments guys! Yes, johnpeth the name of the video is not to be taken literally (this isn't a musical exploration of rock'n roll history in chronological order - although that could be cool too). We just love these songs and know you guys do to so we put this medley together sans guitar. Thanks for the support!
@johnpheth I don't think it's intended literally, though the Clavinet he plays resembles a guitar much more than a keyboard because of how the strings are played internally when the keys are pressed. Basically, the two Evolution of Guitar videos they've done were prompted by Rolling Stone's list of 100 Greatest Guitar Songs of All Time - they wanted show their take on 'em, and I think that's got a lot to do with the name as well.
Hi. That was the shit. I don't know what else to say. I really can't wait for your next album because the first one blew me away. I played it on repeat for days and knew all the words in about a week. Keep up the great work!
someone needs to do a bass tab for this

however, i think you need to up the ante and play some King Crimson tunes like this.

As soon as we invent a way for a human to get two extra, working arms grafted on, I vote this guy to be the first.
