  • One of my Dad's collections. My Mom's name was Jeannette. 2 n's and 2 t's. Thank you for posting

  • Ooops, you misspelled her name. It is JEANETTE and I should know because she was my Mom's favorite actress. I was named after her~~~~~Jeanette

  • jeanette macdonald was married to nelson eddys brother another actor called gene raymond

  • holy shit jimmy stewart! did not ever expect that when I clicked on the video, what an awesome surprise

  • I love it! I want my hubby to sing this to me.

  • you can tell he is weighing the positives / negatives of going back to this dame. Great body but she is insane. What to do?

  • @TadRapidly

    go back! 4 sure

  • @nightstylo ok, I vote go back, too. But pack some ear plugs. ;-)

  • first song I can remember falling in love with when I was little... still so beautiful...good hearing it again after all this time

  • What movie is this? And where's Slim Whitman?

  • Happy Birthday to Nelson Eddy (June 29, 1901 - March 6, 1967)

  • I remember being introduced to this by my mom. Never forgot it. Thanks.

  • I have loved this angelic singing duo since my childhood. I get weepy eyed when I hear Indian Love Call. This is a very sentimental song, it was our song. We were in a loving marriage for 14 years. He returned from war (Afghanistan) in 2002 with P.T.S.D. says he died over there.Has not been the same. Now he is trying to find his way through dating web sites. It hurts that ( our chlildren & I)have to endure hearing all his dating woes with desperate women.VA says he will never be the same.

  • Thanks for posting this im 16 but i have a love for classic films like these and for the amazing actors of that time these 2 as well as others like errol flynn vincent price bette davis and many others inspire me so much!

  • My dad loved this. Thanks for posting.

  • Exquisite.

  • ALS JE DEZE MUZIEK MOET GAAN VER LIJKEN MET DE STOMME MUZIEK DIE ZE ER NU UIT KRAMEN DAN HEBBEN ZE NU NOG VEEL TE LEREN.

  • Can anyone else not understand a word she's saying? It's pretty, I just have no idea what she's singing.

  • 3 people need an Indian love call, so here go's.

"When i'm calling you Ooohh!" Oh, maybe not.

  • Am I the only one who notices that MacDonald can't sing a true closed "Oooh" vowel. She sings "When I'm calling YO". Eddy was a better vocalist.

  • @Agorante

It's harder for Sopranos to sing a closed vowel. Just thought I'd let ya know :)

  • YES when "real screen romance" was still alive and well. And I am only 55.

It all had goodness, love and that "je ne sais quoi" that new modern

    Musicals can not compete with.

  • I saw this movie last night at 2am on TBS! What a movie!

  • Is that lady gaga?

  • Well, I'd prefer to call it "heart," rather than "class." But that's just me.

  • Just so beautiful! class indeed!

  • Played for my grandparents wedding in the 1920's

  • I think McDonald was really very beautiful, but man, "when corn was king"!

  • When I'm calling yooooooooooou... *splat* pie in the face

  • Shouldn't it be called "First Nations Love Call" now?

  • Isnt that the song which killed the Martians. Should be calling .... I'll be killing you!

  • Opera in the backwoods kind of scares me. Look at Jimmy and Nelson's reaction when Jeanette lets loose.

  • whay dont we see these movies today

  • This was featured in the hilarious 90's comedy Mars Attacks! It was played as a record on an old phonograph and it caused the aliens' heads to explode. The voices used in that record were not Jeannete McConald or Nelson Eddy - it was a male voice but same song

  • @AmericanEvita I'm guessing it was Slim Whitman's version of the song. That actually makes my head explode.

  • This scene brings me to the edge of tears everytime I hear it.

  • What a superb clip!! Even though I have seen it a hundred or more times, I am always impressed with the depth and beauty it so accurately portrays. When i die, and if I go to Heaven, I hope that I can meet both of them, to thank them for the happiness they have given me over the years.

  • LOOOVE THIS MOVIE AND THIS SONG :)

  • See ebay there are dvds for purchase

There is another movie called The Fire Fly with Alan Jones But he is not as good as Nelson Eddy enjoy

  • I miss movies that were good like this. I am 29 and whenever their movies come on I record them and show my kids. I just wish I could by all their movies on dvd

  • What a voice - my mum taught me to appreciate this type of great music. Thanks Mum Love ya

  • You dont need to have one foot in the grave to appreciate this classic. Awesome!!!

  • I really like Jeanette in San Francisco with Clark Gable. Her voice was just gorgeous. This song - Indian Love Call, was her and Nelson Eddy's favorite song along with Victor Herbert's classic 1910 "Ah Sweet Mystery Of Life". They sing the heck out of that one too.

  • omg

  • Music at it truest form............Nothing else need be said.

  • Simply the best true love song.

  • Has anyone seen Mars Attacks?

  • Quility ...Quility... Quiltiy xxx....it may be bygone ..but never gone..

  • Loved this Movie .... Nelson Eddy was my mum favorite.... reminds me of her....heard he died of a broken heart over Janette MacDonald.

  • General opinion is that I don't know too much about anything but I know great talent and music when I see and hear it . How fortunate where those who grew up with such fine artists as these folks on the silver screen !! Performances like this are truly immortal classics . Thanks for posting this !

  • This was filmed in Big Bear Lake, California. The location has been paved and built over by mountain "cabins" built by swells from LA like the late Michael Jackson.

  • Hot damn! And I thought Jimmy Stewart was hot in Harvey, Winchester '73, and It's A Wonderful Life! I had no idea. . . look! 1:02

  • Eep

  • I especially like the part where the orchestra hides in the woods while she sings.

  • I love Nelson Eddie and Jeannette Macdonald, i grew up with my mum singing their song to me at bedtime and watching their movies on the mid day movie when i was home sick as a child :) fond memories yeah.

  • awesome

  • I've heard that Roy Orbison did a "stunning" cover of this song. I'd like to hear how he stood up. Anyone know where or how it might be heard?

  • Alas, my research shows that it was never recorded.

Slim Whitman's version is still quite wonderful, if you're looking for covers.

  • @littleiceage You'd think that with our modern audio technology today, that a first quality extraction from the sound track could be accomplished... complete with noise reduction and other enhancements. I'd love to hear it done.

  • What was Jimmy Stuart being arrested for?

Stuttering and being unable to sing Indian Love Call no doubt!

  • killing a Mountie.

  • One of the best- beautifully shot, and Jeaneytte, the voic! and that hunk of a Nelson....and Jimmy Stewart as a bad boy? Wow!

  • This is too beautiful! Thanks SpaceComics

  • !!Hace siglos que no escuchaba esta cancion de AMOR INDIO, muy bonita cancion y muy profunda y dice mucho!! Buéna continuacion y saludos desde Frància

  • From an era when people had class, and our music did too. Thanks for the post.

  • I agree. When the gene pool was still pretty good.

  • Absolutely, right on.................

  • We can honestly say without reproach that they don't make them like this anymore and that's too bad.

  • That's right. Fortunately YouTube is here just to for not to let all these relics get lost! Thanks, Space Comics!

  • @Ironbob2006 yea but if all they made was stuff like this that would suck too, especially after 80 years of it

  • A song they made famous for the ages. Brava! TY.

  • Jeanett's sister, Blossom Rock, played grandmama on the Addams Family!!!

  • Wow! Good to know about that.

  • What's the name of this film?

  • It is "Rose-Marie"

  • Eccezionale

  • I saw this for the first time when I was a little girl, even then I was so moved I cried! One of the most classic and beautiful love stories of all time!!! And I still cry every time I watch it.

  • good stuff

  • It suprised me to see that Janette McDonald and Nelson Eddy still had fans! My mom made sure I was a fan. Thank goodness. :-) Thanks for posting this!
