Your right to hold out on the police is constitutionally protected when being arrested. If your friend had not moved along when told and the officer arrested him (or the officer decided to arrest him for not coming clean) yes he could keep his mouth shut until he had an attorney.
First of all other more reputable PI's have said he was doing it wrong and was acting slimey. What was his point of being nasty and threatening if it was a misunderstanding? It's one thing to say "I can't inform you of my job" as opposed to out & out lying to the policeman. And I don't know what universe you are from but holding out on the police on what you are doing looking suspicious in a private neighborhood can get you arrested, your friend is lucky he was just shooed off instead.

Did you report this man's actions to the florida department of agriculture and consumer services, division of licensing? They are the regulating agency for private investigators, private security, and repossession agents. As a licensed private investigator since 1992 here in the sunshine state, I can assure you he was in violation of florida statute 493. and do cqll the police, even if nothing comes of it, there will be a report or at least documentation. This is very good for us; bad for them.
The best part is, they can do nothing. Even sending this PI to one guys house is TRYING to get to a fraction of a fraction of anonymous. I have to disagree that the "church" of Scientology's methods of intimidation go with success. There are many Anonymous who are just going with the flow and, if intimidated, will back down. It didn't matter except to show that you really didn't watch what you were trying to talk about. You said "shot" video.
Also being present in a private neighborhood he should have been smart enough to show courtesy to others who live there. Make enemies and you get what you ask for, an inability to conduct your work.
Not need to prove your need to be there to the police when doing surveillance when questioned by the police, ridiculous!!! He was on private property when it started.

The idiot PI went away and then came back and still could show the policeman no proof of anything he claimed so once again the cop did the right thing.
If your friend the PI can't conduct himself as he should then he deserves to be washing dishes in the back room of some dingy diner.

No he started it by being where he shouldn't have been on private property. There was nothing threatening in the person's approach to the PI while minding the property he was in charge of where the PI shouldn't have been. It certainly didn't necessitate threats of violence by the PI either.
And once again your ability to notice details shows glaringly. If you look at the info for this video and the way I have stated things I am not the person harassed in the pictures.
