My didn't poop back in. My tabs are bent. After beating it for a while I got it close and then duct taped it back on. Thankfully GE uses metal that is just slightly stronger than putty. Oh well, considering the amount of laundry we do (2 adults, 5 kids) its a miracle this thing still runs after 4 years.
line up the tabs on the front bottom of the machine to the holes in the bottom of the cover; push the top of the front cover against the machine, should poop back in.
