It doesn't 'just happen to anybody'. If you aren't promiscuous, you don't choose partners from high risk groups, and you don't shoot up, you have to be pretty damned unlucky to become HIV+
I am a better man than this. I have decided not to talk anymore. It is like throwing fuel on the fire. You are entitled to your opinions and whatever you think. I am not going to return railing for railing. I don't want contention.
You sound mad. Why? I am American, this movie is American, Andrea Bowen is American, the statistics are American. If something from our country bothers you, then get over it. We don't want your comments on this page and we sure don't care. I don't care. So this is my last comment. Your comments are marked as spam. That's how much people think of you. My comments are American. Why don't you focus on your own country because I sure as heck don't care about it.
Excuse me. You do not work for the CDC (Centers for disease control). This is straight from the 2006 CDC report: Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) affect 12 million men and women in the United States each year.
* Many of those infected are teenagers or young adults.
* One out of every three teenagers 13-19 has or has had a sexually transmitted disease in there life.
Next time do a little research online before you speak "opinions". The facts speak for themselves.
I watched this movie and it speaks the truth. I am a volunteer firefighter and I know the risk of being with a patient and not knowing their HIV status is scary. So I get tested every chance I can get.
P.S. Thank you Andrea Bowen for doing this movie. Even though I am not promiscuous, it still reminded me of the dangers out there. Thank you for staying sweet, young and not doing terrible movies but original movies to help remind us of what is sacred and important. To everyone, stay clean and be truthful to your special person in your life.
totally agree :) some ppl just forget how sacred your virginity is and all they think about is losing it...some ppl don't care who they lose it with... and they really shuld start to care who they lose something sacred with.
Thank you for telling me that you share my interest in being faithful and truthful. I wish more people have these standards. Take care and God bless you.
Continued= Please be true to your spouses and for those of you that are not married ask yourself. Do I have a right to defile (his or her body), take a chance, possibly get her prgnant, put myself in a compromising position. Please be careful and for those that have not watched this movie, I encourage you to watch and study how you feel afterwards.
Continued= That is 33%. Although GOnorhea and Claydia can be cured, it still has lasting effects like making a woman unable to have children if not cured quickly (Chlamydia). Be smart and leran from this. My ex-wife claimed she gave me and said she gave me the HPV (Gential Warts) virus. I waited over 1 year to get myself tested. Turned out she lied. I made sure and the test came back negative.
I watched this movie last night. I am not HIV positive, but I know people who are. It is a scary thing. I would encourage everyone to stay clean and wait till you are married. It's not just HIV/AIDS. There is Gonorhea, Syphilus, Herpes, Clamydia, Hepatitus E, HPV (Genetial Warts) and so much more. 1 out of every 3 teenagers between 13-19 has or had a sexually transmitted disease.
