can it be a coincidence that the film poster in the background of the vox pop at 5:36 is for the biopic Nixon? Is Curtis really that much of an archive savant?
@FranzKafkaRockOpera a legal assassination was the elimiation of a potential threat to the integrity of the State. This procedure was authorised by "some entity" as long as sufficient proofs were given. Therefore, without those "warrants", the assassination is illegal. Sounds crazy for our contemporary world, but that's what I've been told. It's not an accurate fact, it's based on sources and researches.
Curtis EVEN genious and one of my favorites MAKES one BIG mistake when he says that there is NO FASCISTS runned shadow government in USA - when it have been there since 1913 Federal Reserve Act, National Security Act 1947, beginning of CIA 1947, NSAM-273 and Neocons 'Beer Hall Putsch 2000' Coup d'eta - Florida .
I respect Mr. Curtis's work but this one isn't yet fully realised. He discusses media and government as if they're separate entities. I'm not sure how it is in Great Britain, but, in America, both Big Media and the politicians dine off the same plate and support the status quo that the press used to take pride in discomfiting. Curtis talks about this briefly in his "Oh Dearism" short and at greater length in "The Century of the Self."
@Nataloff Be fair, he's got 6 minutes to make his point. And the agenda of the press varies depending on the editor, Rupert Murdoch backing the Tories being the most recent example.
@Nataloff It is the same here in the ole' U.S.A. in fact you would NEVER see a documentary like those of Adam Curtis or for example Errol Morris (The Fog of War) ever air on Television here.
The song at the end of this piece is 28 - Ghosts IV by Nine Inch Nails.

Newswipe was much better back then. Now we just have Barry Shitpeas or whatever his name is.

The inclusion of two tracks off Nine Inch Nails' Ghosts collection only serves to make this better.

We've all become Richard Nixon? Funny, personally I thought I had become Woodrow Wilson.

I like the "assassinated people illegally" bit. A legal assassination (whatever the hell it is) would have been much better!
