Market theory is fundamentally based on the concept of individuals making rational and informed decisions. Interestingly, however, capitalists work to induce people to make irrational and uninformed choices. While market theory is predicated on individuals making rational and informed choices, businesses are encouraged by the market to mislead consumers, present biased views of products, restrict consumer access to information, and induce consumers to make emotional decisions.
Get your head out of your ass, we don't live in a meritocracy. "BUT I WORKED MY ASS OFF TO GET WHERE I AM!" Maybe you did, maybe you didn't. One thing is for sure. Someone above you (who is part of a privately owned corporation) decided you should get promoted. There's no such thing as giving yourself a promotion. Laissez-faire capitalism is the opposite of a meritocracy. It rewards incompetence, ignorance, ruthlessness, pettiness, and contemptuousness.
@AlexExodia Very true. No of us would have anything if it weren't for the others. For those people who scream they are an "independent person" I'd like to test that out by parachutting them on an unihabited island. I'm gussing that "rugged individualism" wouldn't get them very far.
Thank you for your insight , my friend ! Having just registered as A Democratic Socialist under The California Peace and Freedom Party , I applaud your wisdom ! Peace .
@Mr88playmaker I read Adams' speech, he seems to think that the people are sovereign because the people defeated the British. I'm not sure where God is supposed to fit in there, and he takes it for granted that everyone should.
none of the communist countries practice socialism they all practice national communism the united states doesnt practice democracy or captialism they are a republic and practice corporate capitialism so everyone has been calling a zebra an elk so to speak.
DEAR FRIENDS, LET'S ALL OVERTHROW THE CAPITALIST SYSTEM. IF USA WAS SOCIALIST, ALL AMERICANS WOULD BE RICH, WOULD OWN A BRAND NEW BMW, WOULD HAVE MUSCULAR BODIES, COLLEGE DEGREES, AND THE MINIMUM WAGE WOULD BE 600 DOLLARS A WEEK (ABOUT 2500 DOLLARS A MONTH). WAKE UP, THE SOCIALISM SYSTEM WILL TURN ALL US MALES INTO TOM CRUISE, AND THE FEMALES INTO SHAKIRA AND BRITNEY SPEARS !!
@RayWillliamJohnnsonn Where do you live punk bitch, maybe you'll lose your teeth. Another internet tough guy. I live in Brooklyn, New York. Let's meet, come heavy.
Dear friends, capitalism is a hell of pain, suffering and stress. That's all I know, in America only Jennifer Lopez, Tom Cruise, Obama, rich lawyers, rich doctors, baseball and sports celebrities, upper class oligarchs and the upper layer of the middle class have a great life, the are about 20% to 25% of USA, but the rest of USA. The 75% of the american population lives a life of stress, taxes, bills and are the slaves of the 25%. This system is a slavery, it is a scam !!
@maxistsocialist Care to elaborate and provide a source to your claims? Didn't think so. We all know you prefer to sit around unemployed and get a huge government paycheck you lazy fuck.
@RayWillliamJohnnsonn Dear friend, you are very wrong. The ones who love to steal the wealth of others are the monopoly capitalist class (The rich oligarchic ruling class). However they do it backed by the US government, by the capitalist media, and in a very well organized form and with a beautiful label called "Bailout bills". Wake up, capitalist governments like the US government are really a Robin Hood in reverse, rich stealing from the poor thru taxes and bills. Thank you
@maxistsocialist The only one stealing from me is the Government. They have no right to take my hard earned money, sales tax is easier to swallow. I don't know of any "capitalistic" companies stealing from me since I always get a product or service in return. How about you don't buy stuff you can't afford and then you won't have any bills. Government in bed with capitalism does create corporatism and favoritism.
@SkinheadSaint No shit sherlock get the fuck out of USA if you want free shit all the time you lazy liberal. FUCK YOU stop trying to take my money ho. CAPITALISM RULES!!!!
@RayWillliamJohnnsonn Hopefully your job wont be shipped overseas. By the way, video games are often made in the peoples republic of China. Socialism doesn't advocated free shit, it provides a basic standard of living for all. Like a guarantee of a job, In this society, to take away someone's work is to condemn them to poverty or worse. Try living a week without money. In our country, 1% of the populace controls most of the wealth. It's what Marx said would happen.
@RayWillliamJohnnsonn Maybe you should grow up and face reality. The Second Generation Human Rights developed in reaction to the inadequacies of the First Generation Human Rights. Look up Three Generations of Human Rights on Wikipedia for more info.
@Activeassholeonpills Typical liberal. When something doesn't work double down. pass more laws, print more money, and when that doesn't work blame everybody except for yourself.
@justintempler Typical conservative. When something doesn't work, deregulate, privatize, and contract the money supply, and when that doesn't work, blame the victims of messes you made. ;)
@SkinheadSaint Not exactly. They have those exact same things in Sweden, it's just that the workers control means of production. Same merchandise could be made.
You can say free markets have existed in the past, but a pure capitalist system definitely hasn't. Regulations might be a reaction to perceived "market-failures", but doesn't mean there was a perfect system of property rights before hand.
@StoneThrowingDevil In China? In Russia? In Europe? In South America? Seems to work right if you mix it with social economics and democratically elected government.
"INDIA had in terms of morbidity mortality and longevity suffered an excess in mortality over china of close to 4 MILLION deaths a year during the SAME time period... Thus in? this one geographical area alone more deaths resulted from this failed capitalist experiment (more than 100 million by 1980) than can be attributed to the 'failed communist experiment' all over the world since 1917"!!!
@jacksawild Socialism is meant to be the transition period immediately after or during a revolution to form a communist society. However a real communist society has never been created. The USSR was mostly communist but communism doesnt inherently mean purging people and shit.
@jacksawild lol good point if it doesn't work why spend money to destroy nations and themselves if it doesn't work just let the countries fail. This was the most well said thing on youtube I have seen. I honestly believe in free government and social economics.
@NC910Killa If what you are being told makes no sense either information is being withheld or you're being lied to. I think most people are "socialists" but either they don't realise it or our democracy is a sham. I hope it's the former but I fear it's the latter.
@jacksawild Most people are socialist they just picture social economics as some guy putting people to death on the gallows instead of a society where the working class is giving benefits and more pay for their work. Seems people like being ruled by kings and queens in America even though the founders of this country fought hard for freedom from oppression. Governments use politics, religion, and race to divide because united we stand we are more powerful.
This is a great video because it engages dialogue. Individual Socioeconomic Status in Society: WHEN a human being lacks or has deficiencies in his/her safety net then this person becomes socioeconomic vulnerable. This opens the door to exploitation and labor abuses. Also, one must consider Social Darwinism (Spencer NOT Darwin) and protestant Ethics (Max Weber) as precursors of Capitalism. Capitalism is Feudalism Part II because like the castle, the Corporation in a non-accountable tyranny!!!
The perfect form of government should incorparate Socialism, Capitalism, and Communism. Yes I like to spread the wealth, I like for the government to have more control but at the same time like to make my own money and better myself. My theory is that the government should be 25% Capitalism, 25% Socialism, and 50% Communism.
@CerromeX Your heart is in the right place but you cannot get the best of both worlds. What people do not understand about capitalism is that it is driven by investors taking chances in the market. Not executives making millions. When you take away the incentive for investors, in which there are winners and many losers, you take away jobs. This incentive for people to invest can be easily tainted through taxes. Therefore for the world to keep advancing capitalism advance as well.
Socialism existed under the reign of Oliver Cromwell in England. Check your facts next time. He took the wealth from the nobles and gave it to the poor.
begin to investigate further the chasm which exists between the rhetoric and their own personal reality.
As it stands it would appear that many conservatives are happy to blame their opponents or various groups in society which actually have no power over their lives (public sector workers, immigrants, asylum seekers etc). That in itself is a classic feature of fascism - the need for an enemy to direct society against. This level of repressed anger is not normal and it concerns me deeply.
the poor in the third world which made me empathise with their position and thus move me to investigate its structural causes. as such i am not surprised that so many people continue to believe in a system which is against their own interest (and that of the planet and billions of their fellow humans).
i don't know what you do about that. the ego is blind and blind even to its own suffering. one can only hope that as the injustices of neoliberalism become more apparent then people will

The author is clearly an intelligent person but the arguement needs to be more concise and focused to win over those who don't know where they stand. The majority of conservatives will not be moved by this - partly because they don't want to be. I was a conservative until 7 years ago - i was aware of various contradictions in neoliberalism but my attachment to it was based on emotionalism rather than any rational understanding. and it actually took some rather emotive writing on the plight of
What it comes down to is people are motivated to advance themselves. You take that away and it's not going to work long term. Why do an exceptional job, why work hard if it doesn't help you? If everyone worked like drones socialism would work fine. Problem is, people are not drones and you can't change the nature of humans. You can attempt to force them to be drones but at best they do the minimal amount needed, at worst they build a raft & try to sail to Florida.
already 3 mins and just rant!!!! when are you starting the counter arguments? .... ok, 4 mins now. As a Spanish citizen suffering from the socialist stupidity of PSOE. I had enough. Done at 4:35
I think Milton Friedman was just another Republican puppet who used his degree to make the party and their beliefs look more credible. All I have heard him basically do is repeat the Republican talking-points. People like him always attack Socialism but hardly ever attack Communism. Why is that? Because they know full well that Socialism beat Capitalism.
You talk about the failure of socialism but where is the success of capitalism in Africa, Asia and Latin America????My idea, as the whole world knows, is that the capitalist system now doesn't work either for the United States or the world, driving it from crisis to crisis, which are each time more serious.
@skarpzor I did not say Sweden's reason for wealth is oil. I said that Norway's reason for wealth is. Sweden has been independent for far longer and has a developed industry including telecommunications and cars. Besides without the geographical advantages socialism wouldn't work to this extent in Norway and Sweden.
@germancookie20011 Socialism is first foremost a economic system. So it's unfair to call us Socialistic. We are a capitalist welfare nation much like America, but our good and health relationship with our government makes it a success. America is a total mess when it comes to welfare and social programs, it's too random and uncontrolled. So our wealth comes from free market capitalism, very little regulations. This has nothing to do with what you said, just thought i would mention it.
@skarpzor I just tried to comment that Norway has reached its wealth with oil. I understand that i made an error saying these Scandinavian countries are total socialists. I do have to disagree with you about the free market. Norway has a mixed market like most other developed countries. Norway has quite a large tax on oil. The money it gained from taxing these huge oil corporations was put into the oil fond. This is now the largest fond used for pension in Europe. Its around 2.6 trillion dollar
@germancookie20011 I did not say that we were a free market country, i said out wealth came from there, we have been freeing the market in many areas and we have one of the most free trade policy in the world. We have a mixed free market you are 100% right, but our wealth comes from the free market policy's that we have. Im sorry it's not a free market, but it's free market ideology that we use and the area we use them in are where the wealth comes from. It's a mixed market yes. So we agree now.
@germancookie20011 The comments got confused cause i did not state what i meant with free market ,but i mean free market policy that we use, it's from minor to heavy regulated in different areas and heavily taxed. So it's mixed, but we still use free market policy. Just wanted to make it clear what i meant when i said free market, my bad. We have social policy's and free market policy. Mixed and working great. But the free market policy that we use is the creator of wealth.
@CobraStyleDevil I'm not very familiar with those programs. Am i wrong in assuming that healthcare in the US is based around insurance?. In ireland if you dont have insurance and have a low income the state is obliged to pay your medical bills. Hospitals are all state owned.
@ssmusic214 Germany's stake was the knowledge that lenin would pull russia out of the war. Same reason allied countries refused him passage. And bolsheviks came from a split in the rsdlp in 1903, it is well documented. Lenin was not against soviets he was against dual power of soviets and pro capitalist provisional gov. He wanted all power to go to the soviets.

He wanted all power to go to the soviets.
@Sundance540 And Germans, knowing that the very survival of their empire depends on Bolsheviks taking Russia out of the war, didn't ever gave them any financial help? That's good line for Kindergarten.
And Bolsheviks and Menshevikls split and reunited many times after 1903.
And according to my every history teacher in Moscow, USSR, Lenin withheld "All Power to Soviets" slogan from Communist Party platform until late summer 1917 when Bolsheviks gained control over Soviets
@ssmusic214 From what i've read about it the revolt was brought about by russian involvement in ww1 and economic collapse was a result of fighting the civil war and bad policies from the new goverment. Plus the concessions made to germany to get out of the war. And the german money was a roumer that started because the bolsheviks travelled back to russia through germany. lenin was against the dual power goverment not the soviets.
At the time of fall of Imperial Rule nobody in Russia ever heard of Bolsheviks. There is no mention of them in ANY Russian publication until summer of 1917. And there is no chance Imperial German Government would let Lenin pass through their territory without having stake in the game. And Lenin if Lenin's problem was "dual government", why would be he against Soviets? Was he for Provisional Government? Supporting "bourgeoisie" against workers?
@ssmusic214 To clear things up, I do not support communism I support socialism and think it can be implemented in the framework of democracy and doesnt have to turn into communism. I'm not supporting what happened in russia but i think Lenin was on the right path but due to civil war and economic collapse and stalin it went horribly wrong.
@Sundance540 Lenin was on the right pass when he realized what a catastrophic disaster his "Military Communism" policy was and turned back to free enterprise system by instituting his NEP (Hew Economic Policy) in 1921.
@ssmusic214 Nationalising the private sector is socialism. I meant cuba was socialist and may not have developed into communism if they were not pushed into allying with russia. And wasnt it workers with socialism in mind that brought about the revolution. I know soviets were set up immediatly by workers. Granted the bolsheviks revolution was to grant all power to the soviets. But the initial revolt was from unionised workers i thought.
@Sundance540 Initial revolt and the end of Imperial rule in Russia was caused by general economic collapse in Russian Capital and had nothing to do with any particular political party or group. And initially Lenin and Bolsheviks were against "Soviets" until late summer of 1917 when they manged stuff those Soviets with their own people using German money.
@connorqb17 I would disagree and say capitalism does thrive on corporatism, abuse of resources and exploitation of workers. I cant send messages I access youtube on my phone but i can reply if you wish to respond that way.
@ssmusic214 US imposed the embargo when castro nationalised several major american companies that operated in cuba. Cuba were not strictly communist at the time of the embargo.
@Sundance540 No Such thing as "strictly communist" society ever existed in reality. And nationalizing all the major industries is major plank of ANY communist program.
@Sundance540 NO such thing as "strictly communist system" ever existed in reality. And nationalizing all major industries is main plank of every communist program.
@connorqb17 That 90percent is percentage of peasants in tsarist russia pre 1900 if its wrong i appologise but i had read that figure in several works so assumed it was correct. And your right fighting like children and name calling is pointless. ssmusic I appologise.
@ssmusic214 Why are you so against socialism when it was socialists who freed russia from tsarist imperialism? You would rather 90percent of your people remained peasants? Course you would, more for you. That is the capitalist mentality afterall. Fuck everyone else, i want more.
@Sundance540 Stop all this fighting. Its not as if either economic ideals were made to do bad. Capitalism is based on the idea that all people morally have the right to work for what they want. Although it has been implied in a materialistic way, it still has been proven to work, and that 90% statistic about poverty is false I just must say. Although there is a corporatist add that has been implied into some capitalistic societies, that is not what it thrives under. Message me if you want to tlk
@Sundance540 You are repeating all the communist fairy tales.
Bolsheviks had absolutely nothing to do with fall of Russian Empire. Non of them even was anywhere near Russia at the time of Czar's abdication.
And Starting from 1890s and all the way to 1914 industrialization of Russia was going at the pace Communists never could match. At the time of Stolypin reforms Russia surpassed USA in Oil Production, Railroad construction and became #1 exporter of food products in the world.
@ssmusic214 I dont care what was mandatory, you obviously didnt learn anything. Perhaps youve been fed lies. Cant imagine they wanted a return to socialism after taking the power back from the people. After america imposed the embargo on cuba they had no alternative but to export sugar to russia linking them to communism and landing them behind the iron curtain effectivly cutting them off.
@Sundance540 Total Nonsense! The very reason US imposed embargo on Cuba is because Castro decided to turn to Communism and started exporting revolutions all over the world. There would be no reason for US to impose embargo otherwise.
And even with US embargo Castro was perfectly free to export his sugar anywhere in the world. Not only in USSR And USSR was subsidizing Cuban economy until late 1980s at the rate of $15 Million a day.
@ssmusic214 Learn how to fucking read you stupid fuck. I never said anything about russia being a democracy or stalin takin control after the revolution. And if you did live in russia you must have lived under a fuckin rock. You dont know anything about social, lenin or marx. So keep your uneducated mouth shut instead of calling people idiots just because your too lazy to read posts properly.
Studying Marxism and History of Communist Party was MANDATORY in USSR. I wouldn't get my Master's Degree without taking all the required courses and passing all the required tests.
And your ignoramus blabbing about Cuba being "cut off from the rest of the world" demonstrates very clearly how much you know about history.
@ssmusic214 Things took a turn for the worse in russia when stalins crowd took control and set up a dictatorship. As soon as cuba gained its freedom they were cut off from the rest of the world. No system can survive without international trade. And just so you know you have no human rights in the US. You can be imprisoned indefinatly without charge on suspicion. Explain to me how that is democracy?
@Sundance540 Are you totally deranged? When did I ever suggested that USSR ever has democracy?
And Cuba was never "cut off from the rest of the world". US trade embargo applied ONLY to the trade with US. Cuba was ALWAYS perfectly free to trade with the rest of the world. You have absolutely no clue what you are blabbing about. And it was LENIN not Stalin who set up system of "Military Communism" immediately after 1917 revolution.
@ssmusic214 When socialists took control of russia after the revolution local councils were set up to give workers a say in how the country was run. They were called soviets. Hence Soviet Union. Maybe you should do some research before arguing with a 16yo who is obviously more intelligent than you.
@Sundance540 Idiot without a clue! You are trying to explain what "Soviet" is to the guy who was born in Moscow USSR are lived there for 30 years. When communists took over control in Russia, first thing they did is to kill all the socialists.
@hutton4059 Nice try but greater men than you have tried to talk sense into capitalists. Come to think of it they have a point! If EVERYONE were equal who would i be able to exploit and force to do all the shit jobs so i can live a life of leisure? For the capitalists, that was sarcasm. Unlike you i dont want someone else to starve so i can have an extra portion..
with guys this smart why the hell do we have the politicians that we have lol, and i just want to say to those who think socialism attempts failed, what type of system do you think the internet is...
@banzostrummer what the fuck.. internet= free distribution of information to the online community. probably shouldn't have declared failure so fast your moron. why do you think they are coming down on websites now.
1) internet is not free! someone has to pay for it!
2) you have free products for promotional use....this doesn't mean they are free!
3) even on youtube where content is free they are making money out of advertising and the price paid by advertisers is charged on products you will buy later!
4)internet exists because of capitalism investments not socialist ones!
@banzostrummer you pay to access the internet but files on there are free. torrents are free, not to mention there is this type of software called freeware in case you didn't know, youtube is a commodity and a side effect of capitalism, so is ebay. and internet does not exist from capitalist investments, it exists because of a mans vision the he THOUGHT OF AND DISTRIBUTED THE IDEA,
@hutton4059 you pay to access the internet----> and not everyone has access to internet. So that's not socialism at all! files on there are free----> files have a cost....just because you don't pay them it doesn't mean they are free. If they don't make money they run out of business. this type of software called freeware----> which is worse than shareware...... internet does not exist from capitalist investments----> internet was developed by NASA, CERN and private investments FAIL!
@hutton4059 People swimming across 90 miles of shark infested open ocean just to escape from there. Using inner tubes and knowing that many died trying. And they still running.
@hutton4059 When it was "owned by gangsters" nobody had to risk their lives to get out of there. Anybody who didn't like to live there was perfectly free to got out anytime, for any reason or without any reason.
And if that wouldn't be true, communists wouldn't have to lock up all the borders, build the walls and barbed wire fences and soot their own people trying to escape.
@ssmusic214 i could get into this about homeland security and so on but i cant really be bother. so i will end it with this note, america intercepts revolution because they don't want to loose they're stronghold on the world that's why chavez is on the hit list
@ssmusic214 well your knowledge seems to be more diverse then mine so i cant really keep up, but i still hold faith in socialism because when a system can be ran by the people it can be changed easily. if you want to argue with a more educated socialist i can show you his page
@banzostrummer idiot, Cuba has better health care then America and another thing Che Guevara and Fidel may have been inspired by Marxism but they practiced communism. so go find out a country that literally practiced Marxism, i wont expect a reply until the next revolution.
socialism isnt working. look at europe, south africa, russia, china, vietnam, canada, cuba, ..........ull probly bring up some irelivent "fact" and label it as fact. when taxes are lowered, people make more money and can hire more people into their business. and since they are making more money, that tax that was 15% is now getting more money after it was turned into 5%. send me a message if im wrong.
No need to spread the "news". Everybody knows that communism is the bloodiest, most oppressive, most despotic ideology that only brought death, ecological and economic disasters where it reigned. No need to spread the "news" about communism. Planned economy is the epitome of idiocy. What is good about communism?? What problem did communism effectively solve in history?? Name me only ONE country where communism did not end up in a rotten shithole?
"every socialist experiment of any significance in the 20th century has either been crushed, overthrown, invaded, subverted, or destabilized, or otherwise had life made impossible for it, by the U.S. Not one socialist government or movement was permitted to rise or fall on its own merits; not one was left secure enough to drop its guard against the all-powerful enemy abroad & freely & fully relax control at home." - William Blum
@warriorprince1010 Article 1 section 8 states that the US Congress has the right to regulate commerce, socialism, with foreign nations and among the several states, also socialism.
@KDaugherty15 but not the right to MANDATE commerce. otherwise they can mandate that you buy any product they choose. and if thats the case it is only a matter of time before someone mandates that we all have rifle in every household.
@warriorprince1010 Actually, they aren't capitalist. Ever read Article 1 section 8 of the US Constitution, we are meant to be socialist. Also, Socialism does NOT mean that there are no private business, that is Leninism. Socialism is the regulation, not ownership, of private businesses by the government and community, Article 1 section 8. Also, since when did I say universities, I said intelligence.
@warriorprince1010 Interesting, America is between 23-25 in ranking on intelligence and we are the one nation without socialism, Europe and Canada are under the Labour Party, Socialist Party in the rest of the world, and also, these socialist nations, except Canada, have a better valued economy, so socialism works. It has a free, but regulated, market and education and health care. When it comes to facts, you fall short.
@warriorprince1010 You do realize that Leninism/Maoism, which makes up the USSR, Cuba, etc. is not socialism. It is a variation of Marxism, like socialism. While both come from Marx, the two are different beliefs. For example, Socialism believes in radical democracy, and Leninism believes in bureaucratic control by the government. Just because a nation is called "socialist" or "communist" does not make it that political philosophy.
Dude my country is capitalist and USA is capitalist. USA uses terror and hypocracy. USA exploits and contaminates the world, capitalist society hate ecology. Also Cuba, USSR, North Korea and China are only communist in name.
THEY ARE STALINIST STATES NOT MARXIST THEY ARE HYPOCRATS AS USA.
The one reason why so many people hate communism/socialism is because their country (capitalist governments) brainwashes them into thinking that socialism is bad. Think about it, from the time you are capable of understanding finances you want 2 cars in your garage, a nice house, and a big yard. These are thoughts drilled into your head by you parents and your parents get it from the corporations and wealthy. And the wealthy corporations are praised by the government. Its really simple.
Socialism, in theory, even, does not work. Because, if you cannot actually use it in the real world, it doesn't matter... it is irrelevant. How can you say what I am going to buy? How can you say what one person is going to do with ten dollars that another person would do with the same amount. When a system that declares it has the economic answers, it is, by nature, wrong. State Capitalism, and Keynesianism are merely pseudo-socialist policies that do not work well, in most cases.
Do you want a video of my prospective, well, you will get it & it will be entitled it "Socialism a concept of failure" I am a Ron Paul supporter, but I will give you a point of view from myself. Personally, I didn't hear why you explain how socialism works in an economy.
Name calling will get you nowhere my friend. What makes you think I'm religious? But really, I would rather be a religious hypocrite than a greedy selfish fool such as yourself. Don't take this as an insult I am merely trying to help you to understand. Like a father who won't spare the rod with his child so also I refuse to spare the rod with you. And it hurts me more than it hurts you. All I am saying is give wisdom a chance. Please don't be a fool.

The 75% of the american population lives a life of stress, taxes, bills and are the slaves of the 25%. This system is a slavery, it is a scam !!

Thank you
maxistsocialist 6 months ago
@maxistsocialist The only one stealing from me is the Government. They have no right to take my hard earned money, sales tax is easier to swallow. I don't know of any "capitalistic" companies stealing from me since I always get a product or service in return. How about you don't buy stuff you can't afford and then you won't have any bills. Government in bed with capitalism does create corporatism and favoritism.

@jacksawild Most people are socialist they just picture social economics as some guy putting people to death on the gallows instead of a society where the working class is giving benefits and more pay for their work. CerromeX 9 months ago
Therefore for the world to keep advancing capitalism advance as well.

begin to investigate further the chasm which exists between the rhetoric and their own personal reality.
As it stands it would appear that many conservatives are happy to blame their opponents or various groups in society which actually have no power over their lives (public sector workers, immigrants, asylum seekers etc). That in itself is a classic feature of fascism - the need for an enemy to direct society against. This level of repressed anger is not normal and it concerns me deeply.

germancookie20011 1 year ago
@germancookie20011 Sweden dont have oil and we are wealthy and we do not have socialism.
skarpzor 1 year ago
@skarpzor I did not say Sweden's reason for wealth is oil. I said that Norway's reason for wealth is. Sweden has been independent for far longer and has a developed industry including telecommunications and cars. Besides without the geographical advantages socialism wouldn't work to this extent in Norway and Sweden.
germancookie20011 1 year ago
@germancookie20011 Socialism is first foremost a economic system. So it's unfair to call us Socialistic. We are a capitalist welfare nation much like America, but our good and health relationship with our government makes it a success. America is a total mess when it comes to welfare and social programs, it's too random and uncontrolled. So our wealth comes from free market capitalism, very little regulations. This has nothing to do with what you said, just thought i would mention it.
skarpzor 1 year ago
@skarpzor I just tried to comment that Norway has reached its wealth with oil. I understand that i made an error saying these Scandinavian countries are total socialists. I do have to disagree with you about the free market. Norway has a mixed market like most other developed countries. Norway has quite a large tax on oil. The money it gained from taxing these huge oil corporations was put into the oil fond. This is now the largest fond used for pension in Europe. Its around 2.6 trillion dollar
germancookie20011 1 year ago
@germancookie20011 I did not say that we were a free market country, i said out wealth came from there, we have been freeing the market in many areas and we have one of the most free trade policy in the world. We have a mixed free market you are 100% right, but our wealth comes from the free market policy's that we have. Im sorry it's not a free market, but it's free market ideology that we use and the area we use them in are where the wealth comes from. It's a mixed market yes. So we agree now.
skarpzor 1 year ago
@germancookie20011 The comments got confused cause i did not state what i meant with free market ,but i mean free market policy that we use, it's from minor to heavy regulated in different areas and heavily taxed. So it's mixed, but we still use free market policy. Just wanted to make it clear what i meant when i said free market, my bad. We have social policy's and free market policy. Mixed and working great. But the free market policy that we use is the creator of wealth.

@Sundance540 And Germans, knowing that the very survival of their empire depends on Bolsheviks taking Russia out of the war, didn't ever gave them any financial help? That's good line for Kindergarten.
And Bolsheviks and Menshevikls split and reunited many times after 1903.
And according to my every history teacher in Moscow, USSR, Lenin withheld "All Power to Soviets" slogan from Communist Party platform until late summer 1917 when Bolsheviks gained control over Soviets

zombielandful 1 year ago
@ssmusic214 From what i've read about it the revolt was brought about by russian involvement in ww1 and economic collapse was a result of fighting the civil war and bad policies from the new goverment. Plus the concessions made to germany to get out of the war. And the german money was a roumer that started because the bolsheviks travelled back to russia through germany. lenin was against the dual power goverment not the soviets.
Sundance540 1 year ago
@Sundance540 Another Communist Myth!
Supporting "bourgeoisie" against workers?
ssmusic214 1 year ago
@ssmusic214 Was that a mistaken post or a reply to my 'i support socialism not communism' statement? If its the latter you'll have to elaborate.

@ssmusic214 To clear things up, I do not support communism I support socialism and think it can be implemented in the framework of democracy and doesnt have to turn into communism. Sundance540 1 year ago
@Sundance540 Lenin was on the right pass when he realized what a catastrophic disaster his "Military Communism" policy was and turned back to free enterprise system by instituting his NEP (Hew Economic Policy) in 1921.
ssmusic214 1 year ago
@ssmusic214 Nationalising the private sector is socialism. I meant cuba was socialist and may not have developed into communism if they were not pushed into allying with russia. And wasnt it workers with socialism in mind that brought about the revolution. I know soviets were set up immediatly by workers. Granted the bolsheviks revolution was to grant all power to the soviets. But the initial revolt was from unionised workers i thought.
Sundance540 1 year ago
@Sundance540 Initial revolt and the end of Imperial rule in Russia was caused by general economic collapse in Russian Capital and had nothing to do with any particular political party or group. And initially Lenin and Bolsheviks were against "Soviets" until late summer of 1917 when they manged stuff those Soviets with their own people using German money.

Although there is a corporatist add that has been implied into some capitalistic societies, that is not what it thrives under. Message me if you want to tlk
connorqb17 1 year ago
@Sundance540 You are repeating all the communist fairy tales.
Bolsheviks had absolutely nothing to do with fall of Russian Empire. Non of them even was anywhere near Russia at the time of Czar's abdication.
And Starting from 1890s and all the way to 1914 industrialization of Russia was going at the pace Communists never could match. At the time of Stolypin reforms Russia surpassed USA in Oil Production, Railroad construction and became #1 exporter of food products in the world.
ssmusic214 1 year ago
@ssmusic214 I dont care what was mandatory, you obviously didnt learn anything. Perhaps youve been fed lies. After america imposed the embargo on cuba they had no alternative but to export sugar to russia linking them to communism and landing them behind the iron curtain effectivly cutting them off.
Sundance540 1 year ago
@Sundance540 Total Nonsense! The very reason US imposed embargo on Cuba is because Castro decided to turn to Communism and started exporting revolutions all over the world. There would be no reason for US to impose embargo otherwise.
And even with US embargo Castro was perfectly free to export his sugar anywhere in the world. Not only in USSR And USSR was subsidizing Cuban economy until late 1980s at the rate of $15 Million a day.

ssmusic214 1 year ago
@ssmusic214 Things took a turn for the worse in russia when stalins crowd took control and set up a dictatorship. As soon as cuba gained its freedom they were cut off from the rest of the world. Explain to me how that is democracy?
Sundance540 1 year ago

And Cuba was never "cut off from the rest of the world". US trade embargo applied ONLY to the trade with US. Cuba was ALWAYS perfectly free to trade with the rest of the world. Che Guevara and Fidel may have been inspired by Marxism but they practiced communism--->
MARXISM= COMMUNISM!

socialism isnt working. look at europe, south africa, russia, china, vietnam, canada, cuba, ..........ull probly bring up some irelivent "fact" and label it as fact. when taxes are lowered, people make more money and can hire more people into their business. and since they are making more money, that tax that was 15% is now getting more money after it was turned into 5%. send me a message if im wrong.

@fabuloso504 "socialism is evil. it don't work"
"every socialist experiment of any significance in the 20th century has either been crushed, overthrown, invaded, subverted, or destabilized, or otherwise had life made impossible for it, by the U.S. Not one socialist government or movement was permitted to rise or fall on its own merits; not one was left secure enough to drop its guard against the all-powerful enemy abroad & freely & fully relax control at home." - William Blum

you claimed that in the history free market failed
where? and when!
you claim you proved free market fails?
so, give a real example (99% of the claimed free market failures have an hidden wrong regulation behind it)
otherwise, you have no clue......

@warriorprince1010 Article 1 section 8 states that the US Congress has the right to regulate commerce, socialism, with foreign nations and among the several states, also socialism.
KDaugherty15 1 year ago
@KDaugherty15 but not the right to MANDATE commerce. otherwise they can mandate that you buy any product they choose. and if thats the case it is only a matter of time before someone mandates that we all have rifle in every household.
markbotv3 1 year ago
@warriorprince1010 Actually, they aren't capitalist. Ever read Article 1 section 8 of the US Constitution, we are meant to be socialist. Also, Socialism does NOT mean that there are no private business, that is Leninism. Socialism is the regulation, not ownership, of private businesses by the government and community, Article 1 section 8. Also, since when did I say universities, I said intelligence.
KDaugherty15 1 year ago
@warriorprince1010 Interesting, America is between 23-25 in ranking on intelligence and we are the one nation without socialism, Europe and Canada are under the Labour Party, Socialist Party in the rest of the world, and also, these socialist nations, except Canada, have a better valued economy, so socialism works. It has a free, but regulated, market and education and health care. When it comes to facts, you fall short.
KDaugherty15 1 year ago
@warriorprince1010 You do realize that Leninism/Maoism, which makes up the USSR, Cuba, etc. is not socialism. It is a variation of Marxism, like socialism. While both come from Marx, the two are different beliefs. For example, Socialism believes in radical democracy, and Leninism believes in bureaucratic control by the government. Just because a nation is called "socialist" or "communist" does not make it that political philosophy.
KDaugherty15 1 year ago
@KDaugherty15 Socialism doesn't come from Marx,Proudhon/Saint-Simon/George Owen talked about socialism before Marx.

Alexsuper15 1 year ago
