  • I would never save a squirl but these kind people did so I donated you should too

  • I thought briefly that it was microwave-bound!

  • Yes the squirrel is alive and was released. And yes, the tar pits is actually tar...very much like a thick crude oil.

  • is it alive! ?!?!?

  • is the tar pits real tar?

  • @Mellisachocolate10 Yes,real tar still bubbling from prehistoric days. I used to live 2 blocks away.

  • @Mellisachocolate10 Stevieloco has a video-La Brea Tar Pits

  • what if it was trying to commit suicide and we violated it's civil rights? PETA should be suing any day now ... it will hold the funds for the squirrel in perpetuity ... must be nuts.

  • I don't know about any of you but I donated to them after seeing this video and I'm not even from California!

    These people rock!

  • 5:30 thank god

  • The problem is that now a not-so-smart squirrel is going to live to spread her genes. Unless she gets run over by a car like ddiddly said.

  • If you cut the the bone in the tail at its base, the skin around the anus, around the tops of both hind legs and down the abdomen to the throat, you can stand on the hind legs and, using the tail as a handle, pull the skin right off like a glove. Then it is a simple matter to gut it and dress it. They are best slow cooked in a crockpot with carrots and onions.

  • Have you seen my mastadon? He's missing. The last time I saw him he was over by the tar pits. If you see him, please call me.

  • SQUIRREL!

  • Awesome video... cheers to all who helped.

  • What a wonderful succession with a happy ending. Cheers for all those involved.

After all, in the words of Aesop, "No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted."

And to those naysayers, according to Jesse Jackson, "Never look down on anybody unless you're helping them up."

  • it's almost impossible to imagine a greater waste of time.

  • The hawk that will eat this furry-tailed rat thanks you.

  • Really, they taste a LOT better BEFORE they get all covered in tar.

  • All so it can be run over by a car later.

  • it's a friggin' rat with a furry tail. How much money did it cost to save a rodent? It's no wonder California is debt to the tune of billions of dollars. Go surf freaks!!

  • @onstorcs I hope if you ever find your life in peril, no one comes to rescue you. A life is a life, and since you don't value life, why should anyone value yours?

  • Thank you for doing this! This little guy has great karma and you all have earned great karma!

  • Good work ladies! Now our furry friend can get back to some serious tree climbing.

  • Would they do that for a Rat too?

  • The poor creature! Glad they saved her.

  • awesome work! this made me happy! :)

  • The La Brea Tar Pits has indeed claimed many lives over millennia. This story has a happy ending for one almost fatal victim. Yay!!!
