Awesome! Very well done. I like how Vayne seemed increasingly evil as the video went on. Great timing and good choice of scenes.

I agree with you ChadVision, that was a bit annoying. And yeah, Vayne wasn't really that threatening, especialy compared to pasr FF villains. For me, Dr. Cid was more the villain in this title.

For me I thought Vayne fell short mainly because he had little to no intentions, little back story, and he wasn't in the game very often. If he was talked about more and he told everyone why he killed the emperor I would have accepted him more. Also I hated when the game blatantly hinted at things that where going to happen later in the game like when they hinted that "I think Vayne is evil" and when they hinted that Balthier "I might need to sacrifice himself."

I'm really not sure how you could say that about Vayne. If he told people why he killed the emperor, it would entirely defeat his purpose, seeing as he killed the head of the Senate alongside the emperor, and claimed that the Senate had betrayed House Solidor. The only person to say he was the murderer was Judge Drace, who Vayne had Gabranth kill to test how well he could be manipulated under Vayne's rule. With the Senate and Emperor out of the way, Vayne could rule autocratically.

My problem with Vayne is that it just seems as though one day he decided "I should take over the empire." Although they never explain, what I think makes it better is if you make up a reason why. Maybe he had something against his father or he had something against the empire and he found the opportune time to overthrow it with the sacrifice of killing his own father. Also Vayne needed more screen time, before I got to the end I though Cid was the main villain.

Yeah, I could understand that. It's implied that Vayne killed an older brother in the past, and it's never really explained why he did it. But, I've just assumed that his being power-hungry derived from that, and the fact that he obviously wasn't reprimanded for it, or perhaps not caught. I've personally thought of Cid as Vayne's puppet, allowed to experiment through Vayne's influence, but that's just how I saw it. Cid is more involved with the main characters, though. I get that.

Yes I agree with you and there are flaws in every Final Fantasy villain though such as Sephiroth. He turned evil all of a sudden. My belief was that Sephiroth was controlled by Jenova but I remember Square releasing a statement saying that Sephiroth controlled Jenova which would make no sense.

Also, did you know Sephiroth was never in the game until you get to the crater and give him the black materia? Before that you just follow a body double(Square changed that too though).

Yeah, Sephiroth only starts to flip out and want to take over the world (for Jenova) after he gets near Jenova's body in Nibelheim. So, I don't buy that he would be the one controlling Jenova, either. That's just weird.

And I didn't know that. Huh.

And, also, when Vayne turns into... whatever it is he turns into at the end of FFXII, it reminds me of Jafar turning into a genie in the second Aladdin movie, for some reason.

@LordZaamus Um, I have a confession. I haven't actually PLAYED FFXII, so I don't know Vayne in his true context. He might be the lamest villain as you say. I've only seen this vid. And since watching this vid, I've changed my mind. Jecht is the most masculine, although he isn't really that villainous. Just...unfortunate. As for those two...I've only seen shots of them from Dissidia. Mateus...I dunno. ExDeath seems masculine, but isn't he a tree or something?

@Lammy4ever7 Very simple: as for Jecht you're right, I didn't mention him because, for me, he ISN'T the villain of FFX. Vayne lacks of charisma, real ambition, madness, coolness and all things that FF villains have. Exdeath is a dark lord whose final form is a tree.
