Ok, Let me help you understand. When you sign a 5 year agreement w/ Just Energy you agree to have them SUPPLY electricity and/or gas to you THROUGH your local utility, which would be Con Edison or National Grid for a term of 5 years. Once That agreement (contract) ends you will no longer be supplied by just energy you will automatically (unless you re new your contract) go back to having your electricity and/or gas supplied by your local utility. Get it??
It's exactly the same concept as insurance. You pay controlled premiums now so that when the big cost comes your way, you're covered. Sure you may never get into a car accident, but you're covered if ever you do. After 5 years, you may renew your agreement or not, entirely up to you.
Is it really that complicated? For fixed rate products, you enter into an agreement where your price of natural gas and/or hydro is fixed at some rate slightly above the current market rate. If/when the market rate rises and falls, your price remains the same. You have budgetary certainty, and a definite POTENTIAL for savings.
The piece of trash company "U.S. Energy Savings" ("Savings" my butt!!) has changed its name to "Just Energy!" I hope these slimy pieces of dog vomited filth gets shut down by the FTC!!!
My mother got ripped off by US Energy Savings last year. She saw her gas bill jump from $200 a month to $700 a month!!! I called the Illinois Commerce Commission and they were able to convince US Energy Savings to drop the contract with no penalty fees.
Now I understand they're called Just Energy. Well its a new named but it's the same scam.
i'm sure i can answer your question regarding what happens to your contract after the term is up. 90 days before your contract ends, we will mail you out a renewal notice with the new terms and conditions including the renewal rates. If you are not interested in renewing you would need to let us know. If contact if not made, the contract can automatically renew itself for 1 year.
The company is bs. that's why they have a bunch of kids working for them that don't know any better. i'll admit it, i was brain washed but i realized what was going on and i got out asap. also the ppl they "prey" on are in no offense lower income families/homes.

You need do think before you type. I have (unlike you) researched their client base and they have CORPORATIONS who spend on avg $6 million a year on electricity alone, so what exactly is your ignorant ass talking about??
Also you are called a "Independent Contractor" which in no means are you are not. what when they kick u outta the van and then you have to walk around all day and get picked up in the evening. the company started in canda and moved to the U.S. years ago. They have gotten sued before just google it. Hence why they have to change there name from U.S. Energy "savings" (no savings, scam in the name) to Just Energy.
you don't save what so ever. its a 5yr agreement that's what they call it instead of a contract, gotta use those safe n friendly words. you break even with this "agreement" in the end, if not pay a little extra, which is wrong. you double people's bills, trust me. yeah great i made over $1000 a wk plenty of times but they also don't tell you hey you have to take your own taxes out of your paycheck cause they wont do so.
ok here's the deal. i worked for u.s.energy for about 8months now. yeah yeah they give away trips if u sign up a certain amount of ppl in a certain amount of time. which to any young person is great right? BUT! it is a SCAM!!

It's official; U.S. Energy Savings is a scam. I'm hope you made your money before Illinois' Attorney General got ahold of them (they're now called Just Energy) Read all about it in the annotations. Next agent that comes to my door gets the Clint Eastwood "Gran Torino" greeting;-)
perhaps the idiot who knocked at your door didnt know his product. I do. Dont knock the company. it's been in business for 11 years. ESCO. read your bloody bill. we get our money because now you're paying US for your supply instead of CON Ed. you pay con ed for delivery. you're an IDIOT. Thats why i gave up the job. idiot customers like YOU. I felt like PUNCHING you idiots. Now i'm with the marine corps.. im not gonna waste my breath explaining the product anymore..and there is more to explain
If they've been in business for 11yrs good for them. Most of these companies fail after a while. With all the fluctuations in energy prices these companies will be done for.
of gas and electricity from the huge companies that produce the energy..you know...CREATE it? yeah. And we sell that energy to Con ed (your utility) at a fixed price...so ..now, your utility company is buying the energy from only us..instead of buying it from all sorts of energy supply companies. So Con Ed knows what it'll be paying..so yourrate doesnt fluctuate. After 5 years...your billgoes back to fluctuating...you can renew it...or pay the way you continue to pay it. It's not a scam...
when your rate fluctuates...even if your usage remains the same..you see an INCREASE on your bill because the RATE ..the FACTOR your usage is being multiplied by has increased...so if you're using 130 therms of gas one month, and your bill is 20 dollars..and u use the same 130 but the rate goes up...your BILL will not be 20 dollars. Fuck the fact that we are strangers sir. Your friends rip you off the most. You dont even know how to READ your bill adequately. We pre-purchase 5 years supply
Dude. I worked for U.S Energy Savings. I made an average of 1,500 dollars a week. My checks are on the wall of the Bronx office. It's not a scam. Its very straight forward. We are a supplier of gas and electricity to Con ed and National Grid. Your utility company purchases energy from the free market. Do you know what that is? They buy their energy from different "scamming" companies like U.S. energy ...the supply companies charge them a fee..that cost is relayed on you, hence your fluctuation.
You made $1500 dollars a week because when people signed the contracts their bills almost doubled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For example, if they were paying $0.60 cents a therm once they get into the "SAVINGS" plan from US Energy Savings they end up paying $1.20. What if I got you a contract to guarantee your gasoline prices at $10/gal and said it was a Savings plan?
No. I joined the Service. I got tired of being a salesperson. Eh, I think differently then I did 6 months ago when I posted those comments. U.S. Energy isn't for anyone. It's not a SCAM, I still stand by it, but they're not entirely truthful about lots of things. That's for sure. I miss the money, but the military is a far superior experience. And what good is 1500 a week with no time to spend it?
I have a few friends who are working for them, they are so fed up with them telling them what to do and when to do it, there's no "independence" at all they said. They pretty much own u 16hrs for $1000/week
Good luck to you out there if you're sent out to fight.
If you're not comfortable with giving them your bill, then don't give them your bill, it's as simple as that. :) At the end of the 5 years your price goes back up to the market rate (what your neighbor's pay). So for these 5 years, you won't have to worry about having your gas rates increase.
I'll keep on Peoples' Gas budget plan, thanks. Works just fine. And if a copy of my gas bill isn't necessary for US Energy to get me all these wonderful savings, why do US Energy reps always demand to see it? Their reps need to dial it back just a notch; they might get more customers.
That's fine, whatever you're comfortable with. :) The reasons they need to see your bill is because they need to verify that you don't already have a supplier. If you already have a supplier and they sign you up, then your old supplier will fine USESC hundreds of dollars in early termination fees. I agree that their reps need to dial it back a little, but I haven't had any 13 year old kids come to my door.
Ha they just came to my house in NY like an hour ago. I never heard of the company and I studied energy and savings for the last three months so this screamed scam and I stopped my mom from signing. Woohoo!
i work for us energy. and the agents that go to your home are terrible.. first of all its protection on the price of your gas. thers no gaurantee on the savings.. just that your price wont go up. and we make money off the actual commodity your utility makes money on only delevering the gas. you know nothing.... and after the 5 years u can renew your term especially if gas prices went down
U.S. Energy savings is a BIG SCAM!!! They haven't saved me anything. In fact, they have cost me over $.50 per therm on my gas bill. When I called to cancel after finding this out, I was told it would cost me over $300 to cancel. Google us energy savings scams and see for yourself!
Heck yeah..I already saved about $900 over the past year and a half with US Energy. The last company didn't even let me know that my 2 year contract was coming up. Next thing I know my rates went from 14.5 yo 18 cent kwh. I was so pissed off God I wanted to slap somebody. I'm glad I found US Energy and they have been a tremendous help to my budgeting. My rates are the same no matter what. I would sign for 10 years if they would let me!!! US Energy is Awesome.
This is what you get for deregulating energy - scamers like USESC.
I pay 1.08/therm for gas and they said I would pay 1.31/therm. What kind of crazy person do they think I am? This is winter, and it is STILL 1.08/therm compared to their 1.31/therm. Plus, during the summer it goes even lower, but if you in the plan, well, you're screwed. Another thing to notice is that right now energy giants begin more natural gas exploration = smaller price. This guys should be sent to the Sun with their agents.
what happens when the 5 year contract is over? uhhh... they'll send you a renewal form in mail 3 months before the contract is over to sign up again?! or if you dont wanna sign up again, your just gonna go with the market. tskk i guess your just another ignorant dumbass who doesnt know anything about the economy nowadays
By the way "ARTY" your a fucken dumbass! We don't even work with electric now. What "outage" are you talking about? You are so stupid. We only work with natural gas. Obviously your misinformed.
Fool. You do work with electricity. Just one of your scamers was at my doorsteps today and she wanted to see my electric and gas bill,no she actually demanded. I sent her to whatever hole she crawled out of.
All you fools who think that USESC in a scam, are obviously misinformed. I am an agent and there's nothing wrong with the program. All it does is freeze your rates for a rate for 5 years and THATS IT!!! What's so hard to understand? Gas prices always fluctuate. So why stay with the fluctuation? Doesn't make sense does it. It will go higher, and it will go lower, but signing up for a program that will give you peace of mind is a good thing. If you don't like it then don't sign up...
An agent? then obviously there is nothing wrong with it. How many minorities/elderly people did you scam? People end up over paying THOUSANDS of dollars over the 5 year period because of your fraudulent company.
It wouldn't give me peace of mind to know that I had just signed a 5 YEAR contract obligating me to pay a HIGHER RATE than the AVERAGE of what I was already paying. The scam artist that came to my door didn't want me to READ the contract and he didn't answer any of my questions. After my third or fourth question he quickly turned around and left! This thing is blatantly a scam. There was nothing about my interaction with this company that fell under the umbrella of 'honest business practice.'
First of all if you don't want people coming to your house and knocking on your door get yourself a no soliciting sign dumb ass and to answer your question about us energy its a great company I got into there program 4 years ago and its wonderful to know that you can protect your gas rate and not have to worry about any increases in prices. All you idiots are looking at this program as short term when you should be looking at this as a long term program, have you everheard of theword inflation.
@artistmac....lmao. Sir no offense but your a complete target for ANY sales person. So your saying all a scamer has to do is call you up, set up an appointment, and then you'll happily show them your bill?? well then you might as well have said that to the kids knocking on your door. Matter of fact for now on post ur number w/ a schedule of your available times outside your door & an agent will definitely contact you.
US Energy Savings just came to my door and attempted their scam on me. DON'T FALL FOR IT. They lock you into a contract with a fixed rate, but the rate is not necessarily lower than what you are already paying! And if you try to get out of it, there are huge fees in the fine print. THAT is how they make their money. THIS IS A SCAM. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE OR SIGN ANYTHING!!
TO answer your question USESC IS NOT A SCAM! I signed up at 90 cents per therm when the market rate was at 73cents. Natural gas hit 1.4999per therm in July and went down to 1.01 per therm this month(NOVEMBER)! I still paid 90 cents per therm and thats a huge difference when you pay heating gas. I dont think people have the aptitude to understand this program and thats why they are calling out SCAM!! USESC is not scam. People just dont understand the program. All it is is a rate freeze for 5yrs
Bullshit. People with legitimate business don't come to your door and try to fast-talk you into signing something without giving you all the information first. USESC is under investigation, is being sued for fraud, and their parent company in Canada was also sued fro fraudulent practice.
You're right - people don't understand the program - that's how they get swindled out of their hard-earned money. If people don't have the 'aptitude' an honest company that wasn't doing anything wrong would explain their program to their customers. I know several people who got screwed by this company. By the way, "bugzhustle", something tells me it's your job to defend this company and their practices. I'd be really suprised if you don't work for them.
I am very skeptical of strange people going door to door. Had a bad experience. About 6 years ago, some young ids were going door to door selling candy for a group that did not exist. Tursn out they were casing out cars to steal and I was one of the lucky ones to have his stolen...a word to the wise :}
Did you know that right after Lisa Madigan filed these lawsuits, and whoever else, that your rates went to an all time high. You could have stopped that with Energy Savings. Peaples, Nicor, and NorthShore are utility companies that are responsible for the delivery portion(avg. 15-20%) of your bill. The gas charge(avg. 70%) comes from a supplier. If you don't select a supplier then you opt for your utility to do so, and they are not affected by the price of the gas itself. Get a fixed price.
Didn't seem to make a whole lot of sense that they could offer those fantastic savings, since they'd have to use the same underground gas lines as People's Gas.
Peoples Gas owns the gas lines, but they don't own the gas itself. The gas is owned by supplier. Peoples gas gets the gas from them and charge you cent for cent. I am not giving you any hype. Go read you bill. I used to work in this same industry with this same company. So I do understnd how people may feel about it at first, but I just think that peopl just need to get the cold hard facts. At the end of the day that's what matters...
All right then, maybe you would know: how much are U.S. Energy customers saving on average compared to People's Gas and ComEd? Their door-to-door reps should be able to tell me that without looking at copies of my gas and electric bills.
Great question. It varies from costomer to costomer because of usage. Your gas is measured in Therms, and you are charged per therm. This time last year the rate was about .88 per therm. We will assume you may have used 125 therms in that particular month which would put you at $110 for that portion of the bill(gas charge/cost). If you fugure in taxes and delivery charge(which is the only portion where the Utility company profits) that bill would probably come to about $160.
At that same time the rate for energy savings was 1.09 per therm. That was a little higher that the going rate, but that covers the costs of doing business. What has happened since then? A couple of months ago the gas rate incresed to 1.49 to 1.50 per therm(all-time high). This was without doing anything, and it had not even been a full year yet. If you had used the same amount of therms we used in the first example(110), which BTW is low, your gas portion alone would have been $165.
(I need to make a correction to the example. It was 125 therms which would have put you bill at 187.50 not 160 which is worse. Then you would figure in the taxes + the delivery charge from you utility company. You bill would easily go over 200 with this example.) Now if you had signed up with energy savings you would have gotten 1.09 per therm, and you gas portion of the bill would have been 119.90. That's 67.60 difference. Where else could that money be useful?
Understand this...the price does not determine the quality of a product or service. Does it make since to pay more for something that does the same thing? It does not work any better or worse. It's the same. So why not get a fixed rate to protect yourself from price increases like these. I didn't make any of this up. You can look at your bills under the gas charge/cost portion, and see that the price always changes. This is your privilge, and it is not up to your utility company.
If you don't like the prices please do something. If not with USESC then research someone. Doing nothing is the worse thing you can do. One more thing. On the back of your bill you will find discriptions of each portion of your bill. Their wording can be tricky because they use a lot of technical terms, but it does explain your bill, and where the money goes. Most costomers have not needed to be educated on this because our bills weren't this pricey, but now things are different. Anything else?
Yes. This summer, People's Gas rampaged through our neighborhood replacing gas lines and putting meters outside. As a part of this, they inspected everyone's gas stoves, and condemned mine because it didn't have a pressure regulator or a coated connector. (It had been operating 36 years just fine without either.) If I'd signed with a competing gas supplier, would I have been able to keep People's Gas from coming in my house, which I really wanted to do? As you've said, they own the lines.
There is nothing you could have done to stop that to my knowledge. That's simply because they will always own thie lines. So anything concerning the lines is their priority. Taxes arethe govenment, and then the gas itself is the concern of the suppier. I am quite sure that those things may show up on your bill in one form or another if not already...
They don't come to the door here (I have way too many firearms for that) but they used to send a lot of publications. Much too much like a scam for my taste.
Illinois Attorney General, Lisa Madigan has filed a lawsuit in the Cook County Circuit Court against US Energy Savings Corp allegedly selling fix-gas rates using deceptive sales tactics that falsely promise savings.
On the 3rd party verification call the csr confirms first and foremost that the customer understands that the program does not promise savings. Its a recorded phone call! So anyone on the program has been recorded saying they understand that it doesnt promise savings. the problem is the implication of savings is there in the pitch, but its not misleading, they are very forthright
Just another so called opportunity, that will drain you and
stress you with long hours and with little outcome.

Fuck the fact that we are strangers sir. Your friends rip you off the most. You dont even know how to READ your bill adequately. We pre-purchase 5 years supply
serialxkillerx 2 years ago
They buy their energy from different "scamming" companies like U.S. energy ...the supply companies charge them a fee..that cost is relayed on you, hence your fluctuation.
serialxkillerx 2 years ago
You made $1500 dollars a week because when people signed the contracts their bills almost doubled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For example, if they were paying $0.60 cents a therm once they get into the "SAVINGS" plan from US Energy Savings they end up paying $1.20. What if I got you a contract to guarantee your gasoline prices at $10/gal and said it was a Savings plan?

I noticed you said "WORKED"
If it's such a great job why did you quit? Guilt finally get to you?
john5246 2 years ago
Go Military.

I have a few friends who are working for them, they are so fed up with them telling them what to do and when to do it, there's no "independence" at all they said. They pretty much own u 16hrs for $1000/week
Good luck to you out there if you're sent out to fight.
john5246 2 years ago
i made much more then 1 G in a week. I topped off at 2583 in a week actually. Independence? There is none. True enough. And thank you.

If you're not comfortable with giving them your bill, then don't give them your bill, it's as simple as that. :) At the end of the 5 years your price goes back up to the market rate (what your neighbor's pay). So for these 5 years, you won't have to worry about having your gas rates increase.
aricbutler 2 years ago
I'll keep on Peoples' Gas budget plan, thanks. Works just fine. And if a copy of my gas bill isn't necessary for US Energy to get me all these wonderful savings, why do US Energy reps always demand to see it? Their reps need to dial it back just a notch; they might get more customers.
artistmac 2 years ago
That's fine, whatever you're comfortable with. :) The reasons they need to see your bill is because they need to verify that you don't already have a supplier. If you already have a supplier and they sign you up, then your old supplier will fine USESC hundreds of dollars in early termination fees. I agree that their reps need to dial it back a little, but I haven't had any 13 year old kids come to my door.

Ha they just came to my house in NY like an hour ago. I never heard of the company and I studied energy and savings for the last three months so this screamed scam and I stopped my mom from signing. Woohoo!

i work for us energy. and the agents that go to your home are terrible.. first of all its protection on the price of your gas. thers no gaurantee on the savings.. just that your price wont go up. and we make money off the actual commodity your utility makes money on only delevering the gas. you know nothing.... and after the 5 years u can renew your term especially if gas prices went down
edgarV901 2 years ago

Avaldemon 3 years ago
what happens when the 5 year contract is over? uhhh... they'll send you a renewal form in mail 3 months before the contract is over to sign up again?! or if you dont wanna sign up again, your just gonna go with the market. tskk i guess your just another ignorant dumbass who doesnt know anything about the economy nowadays
wunthreejay 3 years ago
By the way "ARTY" your a fucken dumbass! We don't even work with electric now. What "outage" are you talking about? You are so stupid. We only work with natural gas. Obviously your misinformed.
Psychyou1 3 years ago
Fool. You do work with electricity. Just one of your scamers was at my doorsteps today and she wanted to see my electric and gas bill,no she actually demanded. I sent her to whatever hole she crawled out of.
Avaldemon 3 years ago
All you fools who think that USESC in a scam, are obviously misinformed. I am an agent and there's nothing wrong with the program. All it does is freeze your rates for a rate for 5 years and THATS IT!!! What's so hard to understand? Gas prices always fluctuate. So why stay with the fluctuation? Doesn't make sense does it. It will go higher, and it will go lower, but signing up for a program that will give you peace of mind is a good thing. If you don't like it then don't sign up...
Psychyou1 3 years ago
An agent? then obviously there is nothing wrong with it. How many minorities/elderly people did you scam? People end up over paying THOUSANDS of dollars over the 5 year period because of your fraudulent company.
Avaldemon 3 years ago
@Avaldemon...interesting, so on avg how much do people spend over a 5 year period to their local utility? tens? hundreds?
safiya266 1 year ago
You are so snowed! Your company is a scam! How do you sleep at night knowing you rip off hard-working people?!
cowellwannabe71 3 years ago
It wouldn't give me peace of mind to know that I had just signed a 5 YEAR contract obligating me to pay a HIGHER RATE than the AVERAGE of what I was already paying. The scam artist that came to my door didn't want me to READ the contract and he didn't answer any of my questions. After my third or fourth question he quickly turned around and left! This thing is blatantly a scam. There was nothing about my interaction with this company that fell under the umbrella of 'honest business practice.'
bjc2 3 years ago
First of all if you don't want people coming to your house and knocking on your door get yourself a no soliciting sign dumb ass and to answer your question about us energy its a great company I got into there program 4 years ago and its wonderful to know that you can protect your gas rate and not have to worry about any increases in prices. All you idiots are looking at this program as short term when you should be looking at this as a long term program, have you everheard of theword inflation.
mklcab 3 years ago
I DO have "No Soliciting" signs on my front and back doors, which can only mean that U.S. Energy employees can't read.
If this was such a wonderful thing, why do they even have to send people door to door to drum up business?
And no, I'm not going to show my utility bills to complete strangers who knock on my door without calling first.
artistmac 3 years ago
@artistmac....lmao. Sir no offense but your a complete target for ANY sales person. So your saying all a scamer has to do is call you up, set up an appointment, and then you'll happily show them your bill?? well then you might as well have said that to the kids knocking on your door. Matter of fact for now on post ur number w/ a schedule of your available times outside your door & an agent will definitely contact you.
safiya266 1 year ago
US Energy Savings just came to my door and attempted their scam on me. DON'T FALL FOR IT. They lock you into a contract with a fixed rate, but the rate is not necessarily lower than what you are already paying! And if you try to get out of it, there are huge fees in the fine print. THAT is how they make their money. THIS IS A SCAM. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE OR SIGN ANYTHING!!
bjc2 3 years ago
TO answer your question USESC IS NOT A SCAM! I signed up at 90 cents per therm when the market rate was at 73cents. Natural gas hit 1.4999per therm in July and went down to 1.01 per therm this month(NOVEMBER)! I still paid 90 cents per therm and thats a huge difference when you pay heating gas. I dont think people have the aptitude to understand this program and thats why they are calling out SCAM!! USESC is not scam. People just dont understand the program. All it is is a rate freeze for 5yrs
bugzhustle 3 years ago
Bullshit. People with legitimate business don't come to your door and try to fast-talk you into signing something without giving you all the information first. USESC is under investigation, is being sued for fraud, and their parent company in Canada was also sued fro fraudulent practice.
bjc2 3 years ago
You're right - people don't understand the program - that's how they get swindled out of their hard-earned money. If people don't have the 'aptitude' an honest company that wasn't doing anything wrong would explain their program to their customers. I know several people who got screwed by this company. By the way, "bugzhustle", something tells me it's your job to defend this company and their practices. I'd be really suprised if you don't work for them.
bjc2 3 years ago
I am very skeptical of strange people going door to door. Had a bad experience. About 6 years ago, some young ids were going door to door selling candy for a group that did not exist. Tursn out they were casing out cars to steal and I was one of the lucky ones to have his stolen...a word to the wise :}
mrvince316 3 years ago
Did you know that right after Lisa Madigan filed these lawsuits, and whoever else, that your rates went to an all time high. You could have stopped that with Energy Savings. Peaples, Nicor, and NorthShore are utility companies that are responsible for the delivery portion(avg. 15-20%) of your bill. The gas charge(avg. 70%) comes from a supplier. If you don't select a supplier then you opt for your utility to do so, and they are not affected by the price of the gas itself. Get a fixed price.
likemusik 3 years ago
Didn't seem to make a whole lot of sense that they could offer those fantastic savings, since they'd have to use the same underground gas lines as People's Gas.
artistmac 3 years ago
Peoples Gas owns the gas lines, but they don't own the gas itself. The gas is owned by supplier. Peoples gas gets the gas from them and charge you cent for cent. I am not giving you any hype. Go read you bill. I used to work in this same industry with this same company. So I do understnd how people may feel about it at first, but I just think that peopl just need to get the cold hard facts. At the end of the day that's what matters...
likemusik 3 years ago
All right then, maybe you would know: how much are U.S. Energy customers saving on average compared to People's Gas and ComEd? Their door-to-door reps should be able to tell me that without looking at copies of my gas and electric bills.
artistmac 3 years ago
Great question. It varies from costomer to costomer because of usage. Your gas is measured in Therms, and you are charged per therm. This time last year the rate was about .88 per therm. We will assume you may have used 125 therms in that particular month which would put you at $110 for that portion of the bill(gas charge/cost). If you fugure in taxes and delivery charge(which is the only portion where the Utility company profits) that bill would probably come to about $160.
likemusik 3 years ago
At that same time the rate for energy savings was 1.09 per therm. That was a little higher that the going rate, but that covers the costs of doing business. What has happened since then? A couple of months ago the gas rate incresed to 1.49 to 1.50 per therm(all-time high). This was without doing anything, and it had not even been a full year yet. If you had used the same amount of therms we used in the first example(110), which BTW is low, your gas portion alone would have been $165.
likemusik 3 years ago
(I need to make a correction to the example. It was 125 therms which would have put you bill at 187.50 not 160 which is worse. Then you would figure in the taxes + the delivery charge from you utility company. You bill would easily go over 200 with this example.) Now if you had signed up with energy savings you would have gotten 1.09 per therm, and you gas portion of the bill would have been 119.90. That's 67.60 difference. Where else could that money be useful?
likemusik 3 years ago
Understand this...the price does not determine the quality of a product or service. Does it make since to pay more for something that does the same thing? It does not work any better or worse. It's the same. So why not get a fixed rate to protect yourself from price increases like these. I didn't make any of this up. You can look at your bills under the gas charge/cost portion, and see that the price always changes. This is your privilge, and it is not up to your utility company.
likemusik 3 years ago
If you don't like the prices please do something. If not with USESC then research someone. Doing nothing is the worse thing you can do. One more thing. On the back of your bill you will find discriptions of each portion of your bill. Their wording can be tricky because they use a lot of technical terms, but it does explain your bill, and where the money goes. Most costomers have not needed to be educated on this because our bills weren't this pricey, but now things are different. Anything else?
likemusik 3 years ago
As you've said, they own the lines.
artistmac 3 years ago
There is nothing you could have done to stop that to my knowledge. That's simply because they will always own thie lines. So anything concerning the lines is their priority. Taxes arethe govenment, and then the gas itself is the concern of the suppier. I am quite sure that those things may show up on your bill in one form or another if not already...
likemusik 3 years ago
They don't come to the door here (I have way too many firearms for that) but they used to send a lot of publications. Much too much like a scam for my taste.
MartySchrader 3 years ago
Illinois Attorney General, Lisa Madigan has filed a lawsuit in the Cook County Circuit Court against US Energy Savings Corp allegedly selling fix-gas rates using deceptive sales tactics that falsely promise savings.
gabrielized 3 years ago
On the 3rd party verification call the csr confirms first and foremost that the customer understands that the program does not promise savings. Its a recorded phone call! So anyone on the program has been recorded saying they understand that it doesnt promise savings. the problem is the implication of savings is there in the pitch, but its not misleading, they are very forthright
