Listen to this story. It still relates to this very day!!! What's sad is that these same problems still exist, and I'm sure will continue to do so way after I'm done and gone. Back then, we could hear the message, and not have to say, "what the hell does that mean?" or "What did he say? It's so fast." Give me the old school anyday. Long live the the City, that's New York City. A lot safer now then back in the 70's and 80's. Thank God...Combat Marine who survived the Bronx & Desert Storm & Iraq.
at 47, having grown up in New York City, this song and songs like these really take me back to a good place. I remember seeing them in the playground in Grantin the early 80's
I was too young to know about these groups back then. I was probably just a baby when this was made but I enjoy this so much better than what's out there today.
Soulja boy,lil wayne, young jeeze, all them new skool rappers are garbage evn 50 cent, eminemand even jay z...this is hip hop at its purest form...anything from the 80's is better than the garbage you hear now......soulja boy.........hahaha....Run DMC.FURIOUS FIVE..etc etc no comp
I do feel in my heart that the man is reaching his goal to water down hiphop. Water down hiphop means words with no positive messages, which means less $ for the minorities. The higher ups in the music industry only look @$ & not talent. Basicly the artist are students that have gone through school w.o. being trained with the proper skills. Hiphop is in big trbl & many minorities will be w.o. jobs very soon. Sports will be the next target that the gov. will place under the spotlight. Spts/Musk=$
interesting thing, and ironic in many ways when hip hop statrted in the boogie down it was an alternative to gang violence and involvement now its full of gang involvement
Wow, I still have this album..it came with the lyrics on the sleeve.DLB,Tito,Peso, and the Mighty Mike C..let's not forget their DJs O.C. and Crazy Eddie.
What do you mean, 'she has no brother'? I saw him myself, and we can go check with mother just to see what she'll say. Thought you would be glad to know I had an uncle, didn't know you'd come home and beat my mommy that way.
One big reason why I love hip hop: Rap songs speak more clear situations, makes it easier to relate to them. And know I have a BIG problem. Think I might lose one of my better freinds who produce my beats. All this because of a girl :(
wow see I was born in 1980 but didn't really listen to hip hop till the 90's. I was always biased and for 90's hip hop but this ish is maaad original. This message was pure and positive. Nas, Big, Jigga all had classic albums in the 90's but it wasn't always about positivity.
Wow thanx for the post, these cats need recognition for the pioneers they are, along with Crash Crew, the real Lovebug from the Fever and a slew of others.
wow. dlb. devastating tito, mighty mike c and the great peso. i remember they performed at my high school dance and i couldn't go b/c i was on punishment. that fearless freestyle was my joint though . "i'm not an emcee lawyer or an employer/ but better known as tito the emcee destroyer/ i will abolish , wax and polish/ sucker emcees i will demolish"...lol
They played at my high school dance too in Yonkers,NY but I was able to make it. Along with the Treacherous 3, the Fresh Kids Breakdance Crew and Kurtis Blow. I was blown away that the school got all them in '84-'85 when they were so hot. Maybe we went to the same school.
They played at my HS dance too in Yonkers,NY in '84. Along with the Treacherous 3, the Fresh Kids Breakdance Crew AND Kurtis Blow. I was amazed that the school was able to get them at the time they were so hot. I was lucky enough to make it to the dance.

Oh wow. I was looking for this video for the longest. The Fearless Four was one of my best old school groups. Man I miss those days when hip hop was original.
This is hot! This is what hiphop was intended to be. I'm look for this one and Disco Four hit We're at the Party. Does anyone which CD has either one of these?

The Great Peso said " uppers just make love" in 83'
Sounds like Viagra, Redbull and all that other crap on the market nowadays.
This is another classic song with a strong message. Kurtis Blow produced this track.
