I'm kind of disappointed the voice actor for Cole in this game isn't in Infamous 2. He delivered the lines in this game with such passion and made the lines badass, IMO.

I have wondered whether Kessler was holding back on Cole in the final battle, even if at the back of his mind. He wants to train him but if he kills him everything he has worked for has failed.

I don't think Evil cole is the beast but as he doesn't care about it I think in the end he will defeat the beast regardless but perhaps become even WORSE than the beast after doing so, if thats possible. Activating the Ray Sphere second time (what Kessler wanted) causes the evil ending regardless.

@Standuble I don't think so, Cole is much more powerful than Kessler. He was exposed to the ray sphere earlier in his life, plus Cole was dead center of the blast, causeing his powers to increase more rapidly. Kessler was exposed to it from some part of the city years later. And have you noticed that it looks like Kessler chose Choe for the power switch in infamous2? He did have somewhat icey powers.

When I first beat this game, I thought this ending was really good, and, in a way, it sort of is. But now that I think about it, why wouldn't Kessler just go back to when the Beast first showed up, team up with his past self, and kill the Beast? It seems a lot easier than taking over the First Sons, spending decades researching, tracking down Cole, giving him his powers, and pretty much everything he did.

@TheBreadBoxer Yeah but by putting Cole through all of this was to force him to make "seemingly impossible decisions all for the greater good" instead of just making decisions that benefit his own interests. Kessler did that by wanting to protect his family but that ended up with the world doomed and his family dying anyway. This way, Cole can make decisions that don't always have to be what everyone WANTS but what everyone NEEDS, even at his own expense.

And if you from the future came back in time and had lightning powers, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be too hard to believe that maybe you should listen to what he has to say about the total annihilation of a city.

The series is going through a complete overhaul for the sequel, Cole looks completely different and even has a different voice actor, Zeke looks different and the story is set in New Orleans. Cole fights the beast but is unable to defeat him, barely escaping the battle with his life, he travels south in search of the power to destroy the beast. The guys in Sucker Punch are really pulling out all the stops, I'm looking forward to a new kind of inFamous with an even more imersive story and people.

I loved the ending to inFamous: everything fell into place, suddenly it all made sense. The ending left you feeling like you were playing the intro to a grand story that was yet to come. It was an original premise that was brilliantly paced and well told. I love inFamous and can't wait for the sequel, but it has some big shoes to fill.

"the beast" is alden, in kesslers timeline, the beast gains his powers by creating the ray sphere 50 years later than coles timeline, so the original creator of the ray sphere had to be the original leader of the first sons, and in kesslers timeline that would be alden

That's exactly what happened to me, the story wasn't really exciting me for most of the game and then I saw the ending and for about 10 minutes I just sat there in awe ... remembering all the things that had been said and had been done thruout the game and how it all made an astonishing amount of sense in the end !!!

The game is fun overall, it's balanced. It has quite a big city to explore. It really depends on the tastes of a person, I enjoyed it though. The cutscenes are all like this, I guess what they tried to do was make it like an animated comic or something.

You've never played the Sly Cooper games, have you? Sucker Punch is known to do still animated cutscenes like this in their games, and I for one, think they add a LOT to the art style. Full motion just wouldn't have captured the same type of emotion as the comic panels do. So, yes, I guess in your terms, all the cutscenes in Infamous are "this fucking shitty".
