I sat in a bar that evening that was full of ND haters. Only one other person in the place was for ND. I live 30 miles from ND!!! As MSU continued to score early in the game I had finally heard enough from one ND hater. I told them that they better leave before the end of the game because ND was going to come back and all the ND haters would go home unhappy. Of course, everybody laughed. When ND scored the go ahead td on the interception I and the other ND fan erupted. Silence from the others.

I hate the fact everyone from MSU is bringing up the offsetting penalties.  Don't they realize that right after they punted, Brady threw the INT for a TD? You would think that John L would be more focused on his team's 4th quarter collapse than a penalty which had no effect on the outcome.

They should have just let the penalty be marked off and have gotten back to playing football. First of all, the MSU players had no business going over to the ND bench looking for trouble when Stanton got hit (which was a legitimate hit before he was out of bounds). Secondly, coaches were trying to pull players back to the field and Trannon was just too hotheaded (btw he got more action here than in the game with only 2 catches for 20 yds late in the game). Lastly, didn't MSU intercept Quinn's pass on the very next drive for a TD? If anything, this worked in MSU's favor.
