the reason the IDF is firing is because they are near the border / crossed it, or passed the distance from shore allowed for fishing - a limit which has been imposed after many incidents of smuggling with Egyptian boats. The fisherman know well where they are, but what I doubt is that they tell it to the 'activists' on board, or simply tell them that are being shot at for no reason...

Palestine has existed, exists and will continue to exist. In my country there is a Palestinian Embassy, with Palestinian Ambassador and Consulate, a Palestinian stadium and even a Palestinian professional soccer team which made it to the final last year.

Palestine has existed as a REGION. The idea of Palestine being a 'country' (thus the embassy, ambassador and shit like that) is a recent invention. definitely post WWII.
