So, he lashes at her for being a musician instead of fitting in some peg-hole of a plastic pop music business as if the show was only about not being a musician but some canned character.

I missed this song when it showed. It's so hard to sing and most that try it either do it just as it was done or fail to get the real deep lows and highs out of it. Randy is so disrespectful sometimes. She did it great. Steven always stuck up for her and was usually the only positive feedback she got. It's amazing that she persevered though all that negative feedback and improved every performance.

You've made other comments on Haley's videos such as she is "self-centered" and, in your opinion, "not very intelligent." You're judging a book by its cover. I posted multiple anecdotes from people who knew her that stated she is a complete sweetheart. Haley made the honor roll repeatedly in school and there is nothing in her extended Idoloonies interview to suggest she is a ditz. She's certainly more of a true artist than Scotty or James who willingly stereotyped themselves.

I don't know what else you want from her, but this girl has music in her blood. If you can't see that after watching "House of the Rising Sun", I don't know what to tell you.

I think JLo's advice was the most useful advice Haley got from the judges during the season--Haley was a great singer before the show started, but week by week she became more relaxed on stage.

Especially in early weeks, criticism may have helped Haley get votes. I think the final results were exactly what Interscope wanted--Scotty and Lauren's finish helps them, and Haley didn't need to win to become a star.

This is a song, like IWHN and BATJ, that I didn't much care for until Haley sang it.

I agree Randy was a bit harsh but he did make a point, fan or not, up until Benny and the Jets, her covers weren't that special or "Haley-ized", they were GOOD and yes she SANG the song but like Randy said "the song didn't do much for her", her song choice didn't give her freedom to "Haley-ize".
