Hey Pete - nicely done. I know what you mean about "controlling" the instrument. Just purchased a 12-string Godin that I love but playing it with nuance is a challenge. You can strum huge chords on the thing but that goes just so far. I've found when you get into playing it with a lighter touch there are all kinds of nuances there that are unique to the 12-string. But it is very easy to have the "largeness" of the instrument get out of hand. You're doing a good job on this.
