Great new vid on Youtube titled "The Last Days of the Big Lie" youtube.com/watch?v=-48HQpgQRz0
Safer to be in German work camp than German city as cities were being carpet bombed mercilessly.
Dr. David Duke's latest vid- “The Real Rogue Nuclear State” great also: youtube.com/watch?v=KLSlmLx4Fls
FDR vs Hitler. Both took power/office 1933 their countries unemployed 25-30%. 6-8 years later Germany rate 2% USA still 20%. How? Hitler threw off International Bankers they HATE him 4 it still.
The great little detail of the Goeth execution scene was that the SS NCO's are even shocked. Watch them flinch at each pistol shot. Also and sorry but the falling bodies do look a little fake. It had to be kept wide and the camera moving or it would have been too obvious. The executions in this movie are technically interesting as the bodies shot look so small and frail. The girl that Hujar caps at the building site and the guy that stole the chicken (the charges are still smoking).
@daylightdistrict I personally think 1941 is incredibily underated and I think it is one of Spielbergs best films and more succesfull then either Empire of the Sun or Always.
Notice whenever no one believes in him, and they think he's a hack, and he thinks he'll lose his job, he makes great work--like during Jaws and Raiders.
Whenever he is an overconfident superstar he makes lesser-quality movies, like 1941, Empire, and Crystal Skull. This is true with many directors. People thought James Cameron was a hack while making Terminator and Aliens.
I knew it, maybe for Spielberg it was a failure, but I'm sure that if you change the credits to "directed by John Doe" people would hail it at least as a cult classic.

No he doesn't. Nowhere in this interview does he say that. Most people hated Amistad, it made NO PROFIT at the box office, whereas 1941 tripled it's profits. A hell of a lot more people liked that movie than most people think.
1941 - I rather liked.
Hook - a great childhood memory
Empire of the Sun - My ALL TIME favorite film
If I had to choose his worst film, it would probably be A.I.

He is my favorite Directer and Producer of all time. But in my opinion...."Always" is the worst..."1941" is second.
Now for a favorite...He was on top of his game with "Minority Report." The last amazing Tom Cruise movie IMO.

I rather liked "1941" (1979) saw it with my dad not sure what he thought about it?
LOL4:26 "its just like James Bond...only better". You couldn't have said better Lucas.
Raiders of the Lost Ark saw it in 70mm DOLBY STEREO 1981
Temple of Doom saw it in 70mm DOLBY STEREO
Last Crusade saw it in 70mm DOLBY STEREO THX JBL sound system 13KW
Empire of the Sun was a touching film
Schindler's List was deeply harrowing horrific disturbing that needs a mature understanding audience.

I agree. 1941 is one of my favorite films. I still don't see why it wasn't more popular. Hook on the other hand...

maybe they mean biggest failure in terms of profits
Variationz 3 years ago
HE considers his biggest failure was 1941 and that is what counts. Certainly he considers Amistad as a great film as many of the film's audience.

F*ck off you stupid dick head. You don't know sh*t about what Spielberg thinks, when I actually heard him defending it, ass clown.

you havent even seen that documentary, havent you? you big "fan" LOL. get your medicine FAST!
Frye666 2 years ago 17
@Frye666 1941 really is his biggest failure, not Hook. He calls it what it is. Not what the critics think it is.

Empire of the sun is so underestimated unfortunately. And Christian Bale, what a great acting kid.

Why do they keep showing clips from "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" while they're talking about "Raiders of the Lost Ark"?
